Chapter 713: Chapter 19: We’ve Been Waiting for You
Lynch was slightly taken aback when he saw Vanilla suddenly appear before him. Encountering a familiar face in the perilous and secluded ninety-first floor was indeed unexpected. A hint of confusion flashed in his gray eyes as he asked, “What’s the matter?”
Vanilla was straightforward, her fiery red hair creating a sharp arc as she tossed her head. She didn’t immediately explain in detail, instead quickly saying, “Let’s go over there first, Kong is waiting for you. We can explain along the way.”
With that, she didn’t wait for Lynch’s response and familiarly grabbed his arm, swiftly heading in a direction through the dense forest. Her steps were agile, and she seemed to have a certain familiarity with the area, skillfully avoiding some particularly dangerous vines and quagmires.
Lynch suppressed his doubts, allowing her to lead him through the dim, primitive jungle. Surrounding them were towering ancient trees and exotic plants emitting faint light, the air thick with a mix of vitality and hidden dangers.
Soon, the two reached a small clearing deep within the forest.
On one side of the clearing, there was a rather concealed natural cave in the mountain wall. At the entrance, Kong sat cross-legged in a plain wizard robe, with subtle space fluctuations surrounding her, clearly in deep meditation to recover and adapt to the environment of this floor.
Vanilla called out, “Kong!”
Kong’s long eyelashes fluttered slightly, and the space fluctuations around her gradually subsided. She opened her eyes, and upon seeing Lynch, a hint of complaint appeared on her face. She stood up, brushing off nonexistent dust, “Why are you so slow, making us wait this long.”
Lynch glanced around, sensing the relatively stable energy field here, indicating that it was a temporary safe spot they found. He asked again, this time directing his gaze at both of them, “What’s going on? Can someone explain what’s expected of me?”
Kong approached, folding her arms, and started to explain, her tone carrying a hint of complaint but more of relaxation upon encountering a companion, “Of course, waiting for you to explore forward together…”
Then, Kong began to explain the situation to Lynch in detail.
It turned out that after entering the ninety-first floor, the complexity of the environment and the intensity of magic creations had escalated to a new level. Sweeping through challenges could no longer be solved simply by relying on formidable strength.
Often, the obstacles and traps encountered, or specific types of magic creations, required utilizing extremely diverse and specific knowledge for efficient and safe passage or resolution. Blundering ahead was not only inefficient but also extremely dangerous.
Kong was the first to reach this floor. Relying on her powerful space law strength, she swept through for a while but soon faced difficulty. Many areas had their space distorted and solidified by peculiar plant energy fields, and forcing through consumed greatly with little effect;
Some ancient magic mechanisms required decoding unfamiliar rune sequences; some magic creations were highly resistant to pure energy attacks, necessitating finding specific weak points in their energy structure… These weren’t her areas of expertise.
Hence, she chose this relatively safe location to stop and await the arrival of companions who might compensate for her weaknesses.
Soon after, Vanilla successfully broke through the ninetieth floor and arrived here. After the two ladies converged, they decided to join forces and attempt to advance. Kong’s space magic was responsible for mobility and defense, while Vanilla handled the main attack with her formidable frontal assault capabilities.
However, the actual advancement efficiency was still not significantly improved. Kong focused on space domains, with limited knowledge in other schools;
As for Vanilla, there was no need to mention her, this swordswoman was quite unschooled in the deep wizard knowledge, preferring to use her sword rather than her brain to “understand” her enemies.
For many areas requiring specific knowledge to unlock or efficiently deal with enemies, they still had to choose to bypass or pay the higher cost of forceful assault, progressing very slowly.
Thus, after some consideration, the two ultimately decided to patiently wait for Lynch. In Kong’s view, in terms of the breadth and depth of knowledge, she hadn’t seen anyone surpass Lynch.
Whether evidenced by the foundation displayed previously in the Jade Land or his astonishing performance in the Falan Academy library, he was undoubtedly a “walking encyclopedia.” To advance efficiently in this knowledge-driven ninety-first floor, Lynch’s involvement was almost indispensable.
After Kong finished explaining, she spread her hands and looked at Lynch, “That’s the situation. This forest is quite peculiar; many places can’t be handled with just fists and space blades. Now that you’re here, our ’brains’ are finally in place.”
After listening to Kong and Vanilla’s explanation, Lynch nodded knowingly and responded succinctly, “I see.” The situation was more complex than he anticipated, but not beyond understanding. As the Lost Tower ascended, the methods of testing clearly became increasingly diverse.
“Since we understand, let’s not waste any more words,” Vanilla, being action-oriented, impatiently tapped her arms with her fingers, “Shouldn’t we start sweeping through now? We’ve waited long enough.”
Kong, however, was more meticulous. She turned to Lynch, consulting his opinion, “What do you think? You’ve just arrived, would you like to rest first, adjust your state a bit?” She knew that Lynch must have consumed a lot while sweeping upwards, especially having just adapted to the unique life energy suppression of the ninety-first floor.
Lynch assessed his condition; although his spiritual power was not at its peak, it was sufficiently abundant. The operation of the Triple Domain was somewhat sluggish, but it was rapidly adapting. He shook his head, his tone calm yet confident, “It’s fine, we can start now.”

“Alright!” Kong, seeing him in good shape, did not delay further. She lifted her slender fingers, swiftly and deftly pointing in the air a few times.
With her movements, bright light points manifested out of thin air, strung together by invisible threads, swiftly expanding and connecting, within moments forming a clear three-dimensional map in front of her in the air.
The map displayed undulating mountains, forest distribution, and the faint flow of energy — clearly a miniature representation of the ninety-first floor’s primitive jungle!
“This is what we’ve managed to record while arduously advancing during this period,” Kong explained, with a hint of subtle pride in her tone, “Although the conquered area is not extensive, we’ve at least figured out the general situation and boundaries of this floor.”
Then, her fingers acted like the deftest conductor’s baton, swiftly sketching a few strokes in the air. The three-dimensional map brightened with gentle rays, dividing the entire map into dozens of smaller regions of various sizes and shapes.
“These regions are preliminary demarcations based on the types of demons congregated, terrain features, and different energy field distributions.”
Kong continued, her gaze sweeping over the marked zones, “These areas glowing with faint white light are the ’unknown regions’ we’ve yet to explore, and they may vary in the degree of trouble they pose.”
Lynch observed this dynamic three-dimensional map with interest, a flicker of admiration in his eyes.
The map was drawn quite meticulously, even marking the main types of vegetation in different regions and the energy nodes of suspected magic traps, showing that Kong had put significant effort into it. He even noticed that each region had tiny light labels beside them with names.
“Very detailed,” Lynch praised, “You even named them.”
“Names are essential for easier location and memory.” Kong chuckled, then asked, “Where do you think we should start?”
Lynch’s gaze slowly scanned the marked regions, eventually settling on one block. This area on the map showed a forest filled with large umbrella-like objects and glowing spores, its label reading — [Mushroom Forest].
He pointed to it, his tone carrying a subtle hint of interest, “Let’s start here. This name… is quite intriguing.” Large fungal colonies often meant unique environments and possibly rare knowledge, which piqued his curiosity.
Kong followed his finger, nodding, “Alright, let’s start from here. Prepare yourself, we’re setting off.” Vanilla also grasped her Cross Sword tightly, the red in her eyes igniting with fighting spirit.
