Chapter 404: Heavenly Mind

Xiang Yu felt a wave of energy flow through him, his mind clearing completely.

All the heavy weight pressing down on him before had all been lifted away.

“Heavenly?” he wondered aloud, looking at the system screen.

He had expected it would advance directly to Immortal, but apparently not.

Well, it made sense based on what he’d seen so far.

Inside his spiritual sea, the imaginary space began expanding once again, growing by over ten times its original size. From the original four million miles across to roughly one hundred million miles across.

He observed his spiritual sea, thinking to himself that fortunately, the imaginary space hadn’t expanded into his established space but had simply pushed it back instead.

It seemed his earlier assumption that his spiritual sea was expanding into the Absolute End had been wrong.

It was still expanding just like a normal spiritual sea, growing by itself rather than expanding into anything else. It just happened that he had something else surrounding it.

Well, that was good. At least he didn’t have to compete for space with his imaginary spiritual sea.

Speaking of, now that it had expanded so much, he should be able to fit a few more stars, right?

Before, he had ten, but now, with an over ten-fold increase, he should be able to add a little more, shouldn’t he?

As he was thinking this, the immortal qi he’d been constantly absorbing through his skin and feeding to the existing stars began to vibrate.

Through it, he sensed over a hundred Earth Immortals, ten Heaven Immortals, two True Immortals, and a single Golden Immortal.

He didn’t know what was up with these people spawn camping this beginner village, but he didn’t want to find out. What if they had some strange method to attack him through his divine sense?

As he was thinking about this, he suddenly felt his energy begin to vibrate inside the stars in his spiritual sea. The energy bubbled and intensified, becoming more concentrated with each passing second.

Suddenly, something clicked. He broke through to the fourth layer of Golden Core, then the fifth, the eighth, the ninth, the tenth.

He wondered what was happening.

It was then that he remembered – before, he had theorized that he was stuck in the Golden Core realm despite having formed a soul because his soul was still in its infant stage.

Now, after his soul had broken through twice, his cultivation was starting to catch up.

At the tenth layer of the Golden Core realm, energy continued pouring into Xiang Yu like a bottomless pit. Xiang Yu thought to himself that it seemed even without the system, his body had already grown accustomed to pushing for the absolute limit.

Although it felt like a bottomless pit, Xiang Yu also had endless energy in his stars and even in the spirit vein in case that ran out.

After almost thirty minutes, the pit was finally filled and he immediately stepped into the Nascent Soul stage.

When his soul was being torn apart and repaired endlessly during its breakthrough, all of Xiang Yu’s energy had been transformed into true qi. Now, after the breakthrough, Xiang Yu felt the quality of the true qi increase even more – it was about the same qi quality as that of an Integration realm powerhouse.

Although this qi quality didn’t mean much at his current power level, this was just the base qi quality. Once he refined it, it would be even higher, and once he began compressing it in his stars… he was even afraid to say it.

As he was thinking about this, he felt his energy bubble and intensify once again.

That’s right – the Nascent Soul progression worked through refining qi into true qi and nourishing the soul with it to transform it into an adult soul.

Now that he had already met these qualifications, he didn’t even need to gather qi, just breakthrough. Instantly, he entered the second layer, then the third, then the ninth, then the tenth.

Li Yao had a shocked expression as she watched Xiang Yu breakthrough.

“What a monster,” she thought, wondering how many times he was going to breakthrough in one sitting.

[Never mind.]

Li Yao wondered what was up with the Empress. She’d been acting strange lately.

Well, not that she cared. She rested her arms on the window and continued watching her husband. Her expression became menacing. “I hope you can grow even stronger and hold me down, otherwise, I really won’t be able to control myself,” she thought, her face flushing.

Xiang Yu felt something shift inside him, and he entered the Soul Formation realm.

He felt his qi condensing even more into itself, the qi quality reaching Tribulation level.

He wondered if he might eventually reach Immortal level base qi quality with how this was going.

At that point, he might even be able to start transforming his immortal qi into celestial qi.

He calmed himself, he was being too ambitious.

He hadn’t even entered the Void realm yet.

Speaking of, although the qualifications for entering the Void realm were already met, which was having a domain, it was different than the Nascent Soul realm that just focused on the soul’s advancement rather than qi.

For the Void realm, he still needed to gather qi and breakthrough normally.

He sighed. He was back to doing it the old-fashioned way.

Even so, he smirked. The day after tomorrow, his spirit root might breakthrough to the Immortal grade.

During the breakthrough process when the spiritual root becomes overcharged, if he could take advantage of that and absorb lots of immortal qi, he might genuinely be able to speed run through the Soul Formation realms and go straight into the Void realm.

The only problem was his foundation was too solid.

The breakthrough from Golden Core to Nascent Soul had required ten million exp, then one hundred million from Nascent Soul to Soul Formation. To go to the Void realm, it would probably require a billion experience points.

He sighed. He needed to do some preparations just in case.
