Chapter 370: Fundamentals
[Alright, you need to embed your mind attack into your Supreme Blade, and then use Weapon Infusion from your Prismatic Ruinstorm Skill,] Burger said.
All of a sudden, Rael saw his balance dipping by nearly a few hundred million, which made his eyes widen.
[I used your money to upgrade most of your skills to max level, at least the ones I could, so now, your Weapon Infusion will increase your weapon’s damage by +5000%,] Burger added confidently.
However, Rael simply stood there blankly.
Bastard, you can use my money? Is that why several thousand Trell go missing every day?
[Oh, that. Don’t worry about it, the money goes straight into my stomach,] Burger replied matter-of-factly. [I might be a spirit, and dwell inside your mind, but even I need some nutrients. Otherwise, I wouldn’t grow.]
Grow what? A fucking ego? Steal my money again and I’m going to send a nuke into the spirit realm, Rael threatened.
[Sheesh, fine,] Burger said with a sigh. [Anyway, focus on your mind abilities. The one you just upgraded should have Solenne marked as its target now, right?]
Rael nodded, and at the same time, Solenne took a step forward.
Get on with it. She’s about to blast me to pieces.
[You’re fine… you’d survive a single hit or two. But okay, look, hold your Supreme Blade tightly.]
Rael did just that.
[Now channel your mind skill. Don’t cast it, infuse it,] Burger explained. [Every skill has an activation period, and that is the mana cost. I checked through your memories, and you were learning something along those lines, weren’t you?]
I was…?
[Mana Manipulation, yes? You saw the kind of skill Jane had. The others also knew how to control their mana. That’s basically what I’m trying to teach you,] Burger added. [You already have the fundamentals, which are skills. You’ve used them so many times, so it’s just time to use them without the activation.]
As easy as it sounded, Rael knew this was a difficult thing to do.
After all, even in the Memory Record he wasn’t able to manipulate mana, and that was just because he didn’t have any natural mana to begin with. Instead, he had some sort of tingly feeling in his heart whenever there was danger that increased his physical abilities.
And now, he was supposed to do it again, but just with much more difficulty.
Fuck… Alright, let me try.
Rael closed his eyes for a few moments, then reopened them. He imagined his mind attack being sent out, but instead of at Solenne, it was supposed to head into his sword, as if to infuse itself with it.
However…
[DF -100 | 100 / 200 (Neural Collapse)]
-0%! [-36.359 Quadrillion!] Critical Hit! (x1 Neural Collapse)
Solenne halted for a moment, a wide smile appearing on her face.
“My… what a cute hit. Is that all?”
Frankly, if she had the Vitality of a Tier 8, he would’ve one-shot her. However, with her Vitality being Tier 15, he didn’t even put a scratch on her.
That was when she took yet another step forward, much faster than the rest, and without warning, thrust her hand straight into his chest.
Or she tried, but at the last moment, Rael evaded her attack and sent a punch straight at her jaw.
-5,000,000,000!
She didn’t even try to move as she caught the attack with a smile, then relentlessly attacked him.
All the while, Rael dodged, saving his [Phase] for the last moment as he didn’t want to recklessly use it here.
But still, he couldn’t dodge all the attacks.
[HP -4%! Vitality: Tier 7 [96% / 100% HP]
Her fist slightly grazed his cheek, and as he thought that was the end of it, he saw a flash of light before being sent flying across the Erobi Continent and smashing into one of the ice caps several hundred kilometers away.
Rael was dazed, but upon seeing his HP, he snapped right back to reality.
[HP -65%! Vitality: Tier 7 [31% / 100% HP]
He noticed that his left leg was missing, and he wasn’t exactly seeing the world from the right angle since his head was twisted 180 degrees.
It was hard to breathe, but with determination, Rael grabbed his neck and then broke it back into place.
And as he looked up, he saw Solenne towering over him, a wide smile on her face.
“Are you done?”
The moment she uttered those words, Rael felt as if his mind had blanked out.
Frankly, he felt like he was ready. He had grown much more powerful, gotten so much information about the ones he was going to fight, and in the end, he was met with an outcome where he could die in the next second.
What am I missing…?
When the sun merges with the moon, a calamity will descend that will leave you no choice but to sacrifice yourself.
Sacrifice himself…
Rael’s eyes widened slightly.
Myself, maybe a part of myself?
The one thing Solenne wanted was to take his identity and she would do so by stealing his shadow.
His thoughts swirled as all sorts of reckless ideas began to form. But that was when Solenne placed her foot on his chest and crushed his lungs.
[HP -11%! Vitality: Tier 7 [20% / 100% HP]
He couldn’t breathe, but he wasn’t dying.
And he had one effect to thank for that:
<Boss Monster Exclusive Passive Effect: You are only killed if your HP drops to 0! Attacks to your vitals no longer instantly kill you!>
However, as if his thoughts were reignited, Rael gripped his Supreme Blade tighter.
In the next instant, he felt as if a small connection had formed, one that continued to grow stronger the more he focused on it.
That was when he felt it. Actual mana.
It swirled around in his heart gently, and when he focused more deeply, he was able to see that very same mana traveling through his veins.
It was evenly distributed, but not for long.
He imagined casting a mind attack, which made all the mana that had been gathering equally around his body travel up to his brain.
It seemed like whilst inside the body, Dragon Force, Mana, and Mana Trell Points were the same.
Bingo.
He played around with the connection, and soon, he realized he could manipulate it.
At first, it was difficult, but with each passing moment, Rael’s control got better until eventually, he managed to connect the mana in his brain to his arm.
Then, he sent the mana into the Supreme Blade, and in the next instant, several pop-ups flashed in front of him.
<Ding!>
<You have unlocked the fundamental skill: Mana Manipulation (Common)>
<Ding!>
<You have infused the Supreme Blade (Celestial) with the skill effect: Neural Collapse.>
<Supreme Blade (Celestial) has been infused with: 96,000% Willpower as Draconic Mental Damage.>
Rael’s eyes widened. He was literally able to separate the skill effect and thrust it into the sword.
But of course, he wasn’t done.
[MTP -5 Million | 29.303 Trillion / 29.303 Trillion [+29.301 Trillion Excess] (x1 Weapon Infusion)]
<Ding!>
<The Supreme Blade has been infused with: Crystal Damage, Acid Damage, Frostfire Damage.>
<Your weapon deals +5,000% more damage!>
Rael gripped his Supreme Blade tightly, then shot a smirk at Solenne.
“Eat this, bitch.”
