Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 477: Run Away

Chapter 477: Run Away

“None,” Rael replied flatly. “We can fight whenever you want, I guess.”

Zarkul rolled his eyes. “Your arrogance is stifling. I thought you were as composed as Malinali, but alas, you act as spoiled as the child from long ago.”

With those words, he stepped forward, arriving in front of Rael.

“I have a mixed proposal for you. We will fight to the death, but I will use slightly more power. Your goal is to survive against me for exactly one minute. If you can do that, then I will acknowledge you.”

“Any reward?” Rael asked with a slight smirk.

However, Zarkul simply shook his head.

“You don’t deserve any reward,” he said, turning to Kareth. “Throw a rock. We will start whenever it lands on the ground.”

Hmm… This guy really is a tsundere for women, Rael thought, rubbing his chin out of instinct, only to realize his beard was long gone. Chapters first released on novel•fire.net

“Well, are you going to give me a reward if I impress you?” Rael asked one final time.

Just then, Kareth leaned down and picked up a pebble, then launched it high into the sky.

“You seek rewards like a dog.” Zarkul narrowed his eyes. “Are you a dog?”

“Not the last time I checked.” Rael shrugged and entered a defensive stance. “Got your message loud and clear though…”

A small smirk tugged at Rael’s lips. “Though I really didn’t expect you to be more stingy than Vatyra. But it’s fine, I can understand. Not everyone is as resourceful as an ancient phoenix.”

Those words seemed to hit home as Zarkul suddenly frowned, the pressure he was emitting increasing.

“Are you making a mockery of me?”

“Am I? I don’t think so.” Rael dodged the question, shooting Vatyra a glance.

As if understanding what he had in mind, a massive smirk appeared across her face as she coughed once.

“My… There’s no shame in being stingy, Zarkul dear…” Vatyra said in a surprisingly regal tone. “I understand you spend all your resources on your daughter, so you must not have any left. Or is it your wife who’s taking everything you own…? Hmm… Again, no shame in that, no one will judge you for it.”

It was beginning to look like a back-and-forth tug of war, with Zarkul acting as the rope in the middle.

“Haha, I know, right?” Rael rolled his eyes. “If I was in his position, I’m sure I would dedicate everything to my daughter as well. It’s not like I would have anything valuable left to give to my opponent if they were to win.”

“Agreed, I would do the same for my children too if I had any,” Vatyra chimed in with a mischievous smile. “But alas, it’s just a matter of preference. The pebble is about to fall, so we’ll watch on patiently and support you, Zarkul, even if you can’t offer anything.”

With every word the two spoke, veins began appearing on Zarkul’s forehead until eventually, he burst out.

“Enough!” Zarkul yelled, his expression cold and hateful. “I heard you two loud and clear. I will give him a piece of information if he wins. How about that?”

“Only information?” Vatyra hummed, trying her best to piss him off more.

But right as she was about to utter another word, Zarkul suddenly extended his pressure toward her, making her freeze momentarily. She resisted right away, but she also got the hint that she should stop.

She and Rael didn’t exactly get along, but he was genuinely surprised to see her giving him a thumbs-up from her side. It seemed like her dislike for Zarkul went way beyond her dislike for Rael.

Zarkul did kill her husband, so I’m not really surprised.

He could only smile in satisfaction and watch as the pebble neared the ground.

And when it made contact, Zarkul remained standing, yet Rael felt an ominous feeling envelop him. He now had 5-second Foresight, but even so, he couldn’t see what was going to happen in five seconds.

If anything, after five seconds, his vision grew darker.

Swiftly, that changed to four seconds, then three, and finally, Rael realized that whatever was coming was actually unavoidable. Therefore, Rael decided to put his new abilities to use.

Time Mana gathered within his heart and flowed directly into his brain. He controlled it so as not to waste mana, and now, he created a Time barrier 50 meters in radius around him.

But not only that, he focused the Time Mana directly into his eyes, then sent it out in one powerful burst toward Zarkul.

In an instant, Zarkul’s breathing slowed down significantly, but with every passing moment, it was growing faster, as if he was snapping out of the Time Stop.

Survive for one minute, huh? Rael smiled. Let’s try that.

Without a single moment of hesitation, Rael kicked off the ground, launching himself several hundred kilometers up.

Since it was always nighttime in the Depths, Rael’s movement speed was enhanced by 25% thanks to his Abyss Demon’s Physique. But not only that, because the Time Domain he had created was following after him, his movement speed doubled.

So every movement he made in the air resounded with a massive shockwave. The terrain below him broke apart, and the Outskirts of the Hollow Kingdom suddenly split apart, drifting like sheets of ice, especially from how high up he was.

That was when another crystal fragment appeared around him. This was the second one, and he knew that in total, he could have ten.

With just these two, they would absorb around 10% of my HP in a single hit… If I just use one, I can pretty much instantly regenerate back to full HP.

So in the end, he had two lifelines, plus the phoenix’s feather for revival, Gluttony’s revival, as well as the Hollow Waltz revival.

So with a confident look, he gave the Sathmir continent one last scoff, and with all the speed he could muster, Rael headed straight north, hoping to escape Zarkul for just a single minute.
