Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 533: Wife Arrival

Chapter 533: Wife Arrival

“I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but don’t you think this is a little excessive?” Vatyra asked, glancing around the boutique.

After what he had done to it, it looked like paradise.

New walls, new furniture… He even polished Chop-E.

At this point, Rael was certain that this little room renovation cost more than their wedding all those months ago.

But oh well… A little loss of money never hurt nobody.

It was a lie, of course, but how else would he cope after spending nearly 50 Premium Coins on furniture? It was stupid.

Nonetheless, he patiently waited, and waited. Eventually, after nearly an hour had passed, he saw the space crack in front of the store.

He stepped outside and waited patiently as a single foot made its way through the crack.

Then, the entire leg and within just a few seconds, he saw a beautiful woman whose hair was as white as snow, and whose eyes resembled rubies.

She had dolled up a little, that much was certain. She had tied her hair in a bun and put on a comfortable black half-dress. Her perfume might have been a little too strong, but Rael couldn’t care less about such things.

He wanted to see her, and here she was.

Zafira was a little dizzy because she had just stepped through the portal. However, after just a few short moments, her vision returned.

The moment it did, she spotted Rael standing in the doorframe, a warm smile on his face.

“I’m glad you could make it,” Rael said. “Also… You look beautiful.”

She stared at him, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. Then, without even saying a single word, she dashed forward, embracing him tightly.

Rael remained silent as well, returning the embrace.

As much as he wanted to plant a kiss on her lips, he knew that might be a little too soon…

Or so he thought.

Zafira pulled away gently and then grabbed his cheeks. She pulled his face closer and delivered a quick kiss on his lips. After that, she pulled away and turned her head, her face nearly as red as her eyes.

Rael’s heart began to beat out of his chest. He had only seen her act this cute and vulnerable when they were still in the ’more than a married couple, less than lovers’ phase.

Despite that, the warmth that the kiss had given him was something he wanted to experience again. And so, he leaned in, planting a kiss on her lips in return.

She was flustered, her eyes open. However, she soon closed her eyes, indulging in the kiss just as he had.

Neither of them knew how much time went by, but they only stopped when another figure stepped through the spatial crack.

It was a mature-looking woman with long black hair that seemed to cover all her curves. One of her eyes was blue, while the other was a pale silver. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦•𝘯𝘦𝘵

She looked the same as the Jane he had seen in the Memory Record. It was a bit creepy in a way.

Nonetheless, when she glared daggers at the two who were embracing each other tightly, they had no choice but to pull away from each other.

Zafira coughed away her embarrassment and stood beside him.

“This is just like the first time we kissed,” she mumbled shyly.

Rael wasn’t nearly as embarrassed as her, but seeing her like this made his heart flutter.

“Mmm… I think you were a bit wilder the first time,” he teased.

Zafira’s eyes widened as she sent an elbow straight at his side. Then, she put a single finger up to her lips, telling him to keep quiet.

Haha… So she remembers our first time, Rael thought, a warm sensation appearing in his chest. Even if she doesn’t remember everything right away, I can make her remember. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just have to invest all my money into an ability that could… Or I could ask Evelyn.

Either way, their warm and fuzzy atmosphere was interrupted by a cough from Jane, the Colorless Goddess.

“You are Rael, right?” she asked.

“I am.” Rael smiled. “And you must be Jane Venn.”

“I don’t go by that name anymore,” Jane replied. “Just call me the Colorless Goddess. That is a title I have fought long and hard to earn.”

She’s just trying to boast at this point. Rael chuckled. “Not to be rude or anything, but calling you by your full title is a bit inconvenient. Especially between people who somewhat know each other, don’t you think?”

A moment of silence ensued as Jane narrowed her eyes.

“You mentioned Minos. How is he?”

“Grumpy, depressed, emo,” Rael began to list. “Basically the same as when I last saw him. He even killed me after I mentioned you.”

“That makes sense.” Jane nodded, putting a hand on her chin. “I take it you don’t remember much. Is that correct?”

“Only the first month or so after the apocalypse began,” Rael replied. “I feel like I must’ve done something to earn both of your anger. I’m sorry for whatever it was.”

Hearing that, Jane let out an annoyed sigh, then voiced her thoughts:

“What’s the point in apologizing if you don’t know what you’re apologizing for?”

Rael shrugged. “Some feel satisfied by that. You’re not one of those people, but… I can’t really help it. I know I’m connected to the shattering, and I’m guessing so are you. Right?”

“You know about the shattering?” Jane released a bit of her mana, immediately suppressing him. “It should be impossible for you to know about that. Your memories don’t extend that far, I’m sure of it. Unless someone told you…? Did Minos tell you?”

Bearing through the oppressive mana, Rael shook his head. However, he didn’t reply to her.

Since she was a part of the shattering, and she likely was on Rael’s side, that meant she was also responsible for killing the Ancient Primordials.

So if he were to mention that a powerful Ancient Primordial such as Tiamat had told him and also given him an Signia, then he could only imagine what might happen.

And so, he decided to steer the topic from that direction entirely.
