Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 534: Papa?

Chapter 534: Papa?

“Are you going to finish what you were saying?” Jane asked coldly.

But as he was about to reply with a rejection, Zafira intervened.

“Where do you get off talking to him like that? Just a few minutes ago, you were acting like some obsessed woman, muttering his name while connecting the portal to here,” she said.

Jane flinched, clenching her fists. “I thought I told you to keep that to yourself.”

“I kept it to myself until I saw you pulling whatever this intimidation stunt is,” Zafira replied bluntly. “I don’t care what kind of things you say about me, but when you talk like that to my husband, I won’t accept it.”

Jane grumbled, then let out a sigh and pulled back the mana she had been using to suppress him.

“My bad. You two can enjoy your honeymoon, and… Hm?” Jane’s gaze swept past them and into the boutique. “Isn’t that…?”

Her eyes widened as she suddenly went on guard.

“Why is that thing here?”

“Vatyra?” Rael tilted his head. “She’s my ally. Don’t worry about her.” Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩·𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢·𝔫𝔢𝔱

“I’m talking about that dog,” Jane replied with a frown. “That’s Astaroth, the previous Dragon God. Just what is he doing there?”

Was Astaroth, now he’s Burger. Heh…

“Eating, probably,” Rael replied plainly. “Don’t worry about him either. He’s my spirit ally. By the window, that’s Chop-E, my construct, and that kid… who kind of… who looks like me, is…”

Now that it had come to this point, he felt like he was on a cliff with no safe way down.

He thought of calling Gaia for something as petty as this, but he refrained from doing that and instead decided to be honest.

“That kid is my child…” Rael muttered.

All light faded away from Zafira’s face, and right as it seemed like she was about to faint, Rael continued his explanation.

“I found him on a shelf while he was still an egg. He was born an angel, and he’s pretty much as strong as me. I didn’t actually sleep with anyone to conceive him. I promise, Zafira.”

He grabbed her shoulders and placed a kiss on her forehead, which seemed to bring back some color to her face.

But that color faded again when the boutique’s door opened and Uriel stepped out, an innocent smile on his face.

“Papa, who are these people? They’re pretty…”

“P-Papa…” Zafira choked on her own saliva, and before long, her eyes rolled back.

Just like that, she passed out and fell into Rael’s arms, marking a not very successful reunion.

“…”

Fuck.

He gently picked Zafira up and glanced around, not sure how to react to what had just happened.

He knew it would’ve been a big blow to Zafira, but he thought that by explaining it as fast as possible, he could avoid this.

But one ’papa’ was all it took. Rael paid his respects inwardly and flashed a smile at Uriel.

“This woman in my arms is someone I love dearly. You could consider her your mama as well,” Rael said, then pointed his chin at Jane. “As for her… she’s Jane.”

“Hello Jane.” Uriel waved at her, then tilted his head at Zafira. “Two mamas?”

“Hm, yeah, why not.” Rael chuckled. “When you grow up, you’ll understand. Until then, let’s go inside and have some more food, shall we?”

Uriel’s eyes sparkled at the mention of food, and with a couple more aggressive nods, he ran back inside up to Vatyra.

Vatyra gave Rael a look of pity before stuffing her mouth with even more turkey.

She did this on purpose, didn’t she? Rael sighed, turning to Jane, who was equally as shocked.

“Are you hungry?”

“…Yes?”

“Good. Come with me,” Rael replied, ignoring her flustered expression and entering the boutique.

He gave Vatyra a glare and then placed Zafira on one of the many luxurious bean bags he had bought. It was supposed to be a surprise, but it turned out horrible.

Nonetheless, after putting Zafira on the bean bag and tucking her in with a blanket, he turned around to find Jane, Vatyra, and Burger on the verge of fighting.

“You had so many years to control your temper, and yet you’re still an ill-mannered hag,” Burger scoffed.

“Huh…? Didn’t you run away from the final battle like a coward?” Jane shot back. “What was it again…? ’I won’t die for you puny mortals’? Then you went on and fell into a black hole anyway. Thanks for your sacrifice.”

Burger’s brows furrowed. “You… you were also there?”

“Everyone was. Except this woman.” Jane pointed at Vatyra. “Where were you exactly? Hiding out just like the others?”

Vatyra frowned. “You don’t know anything about me, so don’t make assumptions, little girl. I was dealing with more important matters than the battle against the Divine Realm.”

Their mana was clashing, slightly ripping Rael’s expensive boutique, so he stepped in, stopping them.

“Not in front of Uriel,” Rael said sternly. “If you want to fight, take this outside, would you? Also… Burger, you were there?”

Burger sighed. “So what?”

“So what? Seriously?” Rael scoffed. “When I had questions upon questions, you didn’t answer any. Why?”

“Why would he retell the story of how he got his ass kicked?” Jane chimed in mockingly.

“That’s not why, genius,” Burger said. “I just… there is a reason why I can’t tell you anything.”

“Right…” Rael sighed. “Like always… but it’s fine, I’m in a forgiving mood today.”

Not really.

“My lovely wife is back, and I wish to spend some time with her… so either settle down and eat your food quietly, or get out of here. Not you, Uriel. You can stay if you want.”

“Yaaay!”

Burger, Jane, and Vatyra exchanged glances, and with scoffs, they sat down quietly.

But just as he thought that quiet would last, Jane spoke up:

“You have another wife, don’t you?”

“…”

“Lilith,” Rael replied. “She doesn’t seem to remember me at all, even after Zafira tried to make her remember.”

“Hmm? So you are a two-timer.” Vatyra chuckled. “Though, I seem to remember you being a little more set on making this wife of yours remember you. Why not the other?”

“We didn’t get engaged through love,” Rael said, lowering his gaze. “I care about her though, so don’t think that I don’t.”

“You care about one more than the other. I understand that,” Vatyra commented. “However, both of those women are your wives. You can only dodge responsibility for so long until it starts harming your wives… so why don’t you try your hardest to make your other wife remember you, in the same way you’re trying with this one?”

“I agree.” Jane crossed her arms. “Although I haven’t been with these two girls for a long time, I believe that despite their fearsome exterior, they are both gentle flowers. A flower will wilt if not taken care of…”

“Fine.” Rael sighed, rubbing his temples. “I’ll call Lilith later. I want to have personal time with both of them, so don’t even try telling me I should go on a date with two of them at once.”

Everyone remained silent, and instead of calling him out, they dug into their food.

For some reason, trays of turkey began appearing out of thin air. Coincidentally, the food was falling from Burger’s direction.

When Burger met eyes with Rael, the food stopped falling, and without breaking eye contact, Burger took a bite out of the turkey, as did the others.

“…”

I need a debt tally.

But that was for later.

For now, Rael sat down beside Zafira and waited for her to wake up.

After all, the two had a lot of catching up to do.

“…”

A lot.
