Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 599: The Titanic Hand

Chapter 599: The Titanic Hand

Three days flew by in the blink of an eye.

By now, Rael was certain that Aurelius had truly not died. Why? Well… he might’ve been a little suicidal and decided it was a good idea to slit his throat.

It took a few hours to regenerate, but he was alive.

On the other hand, Anastasia and her gang managed to successfully kill the titans.

The titans were strong, sure, but when it came down to it, Anastasia was just too fast. Before they could even raise their legs to kick her away, she had already sliced all their tendons and cut off their heads.

That, however, wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

The titans were surrounded by gargoyles and other monsters. Just getting to them took a while, but here they were, three days later, in the middle of the city being praised by everyone.

Except, Anastasia’s expression was blank.

And that was precisely where Rael decided to step in.

As he jumped down from the rooftop, he arrived before her and the others.

He was expecting to just take her away, however…

“Oooh!”

“It’s the hero!”

“Thank you for saving my child!”

All those screams and praises were directed at Rael, so much so that for just a moment, he froze.

Are these people serious? Well… Rael glanced toward Anastasia, meeting her cold gaze. There goes the ’I won’t do anything until you’re done’ promise.

And as expected, Anastasia took the initiative to step out of the crowd and grab him by the collar. She forcefully dragged him into an alleyway and slammed him down onto a wall, her gaze even colder than before.

But, despite what he was expecting…

“What did you find out?”

“Oh? Are we being civil now?” Rael smiled. “In that case, I’ll be honest with you.”

“Aurelius, at this point in time, wasn’t dead,” he explained. “I’m really sure he faked his death and lingered around the city. These fishies here are really violent, even to themselves. One tried to kill a child, so I intervened.”

“So he wasn’t dead. I thought that was the case.” Anastasia eased her grip. “Anything else?”

“After you killed the titans, I saw the eye in the sky again,” Rael replied.

Hearing that, Anastasia stared at him for a moment before shaking her head.

“This is unbelievable. No, rather, I don’t want to believe that this isn’t an altered dream.”

Sure, she could wonder that, but where was the proof? Rael couldn’t alter dreams, at least not yet. He especially couldn’t do anything to powerhouses like her.

However, as their discussion was beginning to get heated, the two of them suddenly froze, shivers running down their spines.

Something big was coming, and neither Rael nor Anastasia could’ve anticipated it beforehand.

After all, when they glanced up and spotted a hand the size of the entire city heading straight down for them, they immediately reacted.

Anastasia grabbed his collar and threw him onto a rooftop before following behind.

Rael didn’t dawdle for long either as he made a beeline straight for the city wall, which was at least a few seconds away.

With his current speed, he could make it. He was sure of it.

But there was one more problem on his shoulders.

Anastasia kept looking back toward the center of the city, her expression slightly panicked and uneasy.

It seemed like, at a moment’s notice, she would dash toward her friends and try saving them.

But if she did that, neither she nor her friends would make it out alive.

Yet, since her mind was so turbulent and her pace was slowing down, Rael knew he had to get her in line.

And he did that by grabbing her hand and pulling her close to himself.

As their faces were only a few inches apart, a look of disapproval appeared on Anastasia’s face as she once again picked up her pace, running past him.

What a tsundere,

Rael thought, rolling his eyes. But at least she knows her priorities. That’s good enough.

Within the next couple of seconds, they managed to arrive at the wall, and right as Rael jumped off, the giant hand slammed down into the center of the city.

For a moment, there was silence, but soon after, a loud explosion resounded.

—BOOOOOOOOOM!

It felt like every part of him was being burnt away due to the heat that was emitted from that attack. However, he also didn’t have much time since the wall had pretty much instantly crumbled.

The debris fell onto him, and he dodged to the best of his ability.

That was when a large chunk of a nearby castle shot toward him. One spire in particular had a sharp tip, and being impaled by it wouldn’t be the most fun. Fınd the newest release on novel★fire.net

But then again, he was far too slow to dodge it, so at the very least, Rael positioned his body in a way where it wouldn’t hit his heart.

Or that was the plan until a thin golden barrier appeared around him, causing the spire to bounce back. In turn, however, the barrier cracked.

Past the barrier, Rael spotted Anastasia with her arm stretched out. A few droplets of blood fell from her nose and landed on the debris-filled ground.

She shot him a look of disdain and then continued running after dissipating the barrier.

Rael thanked her inwardly and continued running ahead.

So she was thinking of saving them with that? Rael mused. It might’ve worked had she been stronger. Sadly, if she bled just from a single spire hitting the barrier, that hand would’ve killed her instantly.

A few minutes had passed since the hand was brought down, and by now, they were a good few kilometers away. The dust was still there, but at least they weren’t in danger of being impaled by debris.

As for the hand, it didn’t rise back beyond the clouds. Instead, it remained embedded in the city.

Anastasia’s hands trembled in anger and sorrow.

For the cherry on top, she also had Rael beside her.

“I bet you don’t remember this happening, huh?”
