“What are you talking about?” Anastasia asked coldly. “A nanny for what? You want me to watch your dragon garden?”

“Mmm… Not at all,” Vatyra dismissed. “Actually, I heard a lot of stuff about you through Evelyn, and I know about Lucien and how he was manipulating both you and Kareth all this time. Clearly, he was manipulating me too since I had given him the feather.”

Having said that, she extended her hand and then snapped her fingers.

Nothing seemed to happen, but clearly, something did.

“I just destroyed the feather I had given him. If he were to use it while he was in his main body, and I came there unknowingly, then I would get killed. Can’t be having any of that, now can I?”

“You did not answer my question,” Anastasia said.

Vatyra smiled and gave Rael a mischievous smirk before turning her gaze back to Anastasia.

Not only did she word it in a way that insinuated Rael and her had slept together, but she also made it sound like she had given birth.

“Just earlier, I took my child out to hunt a dragon. Surprisingly, he beat the shit out of the dragon and accidentally killed it.” Vatyra scratched the back of her head. “I was not going to tell anyone since it was a little embarrassing, but for that reason alone, I believe I need some guidance.”

“H-Hold on a minute,” Kareth chimed in, floating up and glancing between Rael and Vatyra. “A child? Seriously? You of all people had a child?”

Kareth obediently backed off.

Rael on the other hand watched the entire scene play out with both interest and embarrassment.

It was fun to see these people who were considered at the peak of the universe scramble around like little children at the mention of something as simple as a child.

Rael shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts, and he continued watching everything in earnest.

Anastasia scowled. “Do I even have a choice?”

“Hahaha! Of course not!” Vatyra pointed out the obvious with a sadistic grin. “Now then, since we are on the topic of nannies, that means you will have to live with us. Say goodbye to your husband for a while. Perhaps he can visit on some days.”

Anastasia’s expression worsened, but she still glanced over to Kareth, whose body turned stiff from her gaze.

He could not say a word, and neither could she. Eventually, she nodded at Vatyra, and with that, she had become Uriel’s nanny.

It was so random that Rael could not help but ask himself if he was dreaming.

But even still, as Vatyra had begun giving Anastasia the rundown of Uriel’s diet, which mainly consisted of dragon meat, he knew it was real.

Taking it as a sign that everything went well, Rael scooted over to Kareth, elbowing him weakly.

“So, about that palace…”

“Now is not really the time…” Kareth replied blankly.

“You know the saying now or never? Well, I choose now. How do we go about this whole process?” Rael asked excitedly. “Are you just going to sign me the rights to the palace? Maybe you will—”

Before Rael could even finish his words, a bout of pop-ups appeared in front of him.

After all, this was a being who was eons old, so him having such land was not that surprising.

“You were serious about retirement?” Rael asked, puzzled.

“Indeed.” Kareth nodded. “The realm does not exactly need my assistance to operate. At most, I need to fix a problem once a century or so.”

Without saying another word, he turned around, gave Rael a quick wave, and then suddenly vanished into thin air.

Rael stared at the space where Kareth had just stood before finally turning his gaze over to the two women.

Although it was rocky, it seemed like it was finally over.

And now, it was time to go home.
