Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 852: Plans And Determination

Chapter 852: Plans And Determination

Rael stood up and approached him. Once Renoir noticed the two of them, he raised a brow and said:

“You two arrived here before I did? How?”

He was obviously confused, since in no world did he expect someone many times weaker than him to actually end up racing past him. But then again, knowing that Rael was one of the two people who did that, he knew that there must’ve been something else in store.

And that something else was none other than the boss rush that Rael and Nyx had found out about.

“Doesn’t matter yet. How are you holding up?” Rael asked.

Renoir took a bite out of his sandwich and replied:

“Could be better. Still no sign of my wife. Plenty of people are also after me for some reason. Had to kill a few on the 50th floor and even the 65th floor. I’m not sure what their obsession with me is, but yeah, they’re dead now.”

Then he pointed at the food.

“This is very good, by the way. Whatever ingredients these people have access to are far better than what we have in our universe.”

Right…

It was just plain ham and cheese.

Despite that, Rael decided to be a bit more upfront with him.

“I’m about to enter your mind. Don’t push me out. I have something I want to say.”

Renoir seemed a little skeptical, but still agreed.

With that, Rael possessed Renoir. Except this time he didn’t take over his body and instead just sat around in the back of his mind.

As he stared at himself through the eyes of Renoir, Rael finally spoke.

“Can you hear me?”

[Yes I can. Speak whatever you need, and I’ll hear it.]

Welp.

In that case…

Rael spent the next couple of minutes relaying the events of everything he had heard from Reyna, as well as the secret way to go up the floors.

In the end, he finally exited Renoir’s mind, and once he was back inside his body, he spotted that Renoir was in deep thought.

That was until he nodded once more.

“That’s an interesting way, but pray tell, how is this not common knowledge exactly?”

Rael tilted his head.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, if it’s that simple to figure out, those who have prestiged so many times should’ve told someone by now and made it common knowledge so they could climb together, no?” Renoir elaborated.

“Were you born yesterday? Why would anyone share that?” Rael replied matter-of-factly.

Before Renoir could say anything, Rael continued.

“Imagine you’ve got a diamond mine all to yourself. Now imagine you tell others about that diamond mine. It’s no longer your diamond mine. Not only that, others will now come over to steal your shit and monopolize your mine.”

“In the end, the mine now has factions fighting over it, as well as a bunch more problems that would remain unresolved. I mean, I’m sure you know where I’m going with this, right?” Rael asked.

Renoir rolled his eyes.

“Obviously. I’m just thinking that for this to be such a tight-knit secret is impossible.”

Hearing that, Nyx decided to chime in.

“While I don’t disagree with Rael, I also don’t entirely disagree with what Renoir said. For reference, you are speaking in terms of how normal people would act. People who were powerful enough to be tossed here didn’t become powerful through stupid means. Well… some did, sure, but not everyone.”

She then said:

“Rule-bound beings tend to remain rule-bound, since breaking the rules would make outcomes unpredictable. If they attain such knowledge, they most likely keep it to themselves. Frankly, you’re the only person here who probably shares such secrets. Both among the tower people and Grade 10’s or higher.”

Fair.

Well… it didn’t matter much anyway. Whoever Rael encountered on the upper floors, he’d just automatically assume they knew about this.

Anyways, now that the three of them were all here, Rael should probably bring something up.

“So Renoir and Nyx… I was thinking that maybe instead of doing these boss rooms together, we split up. We’d meet up every couple of floors, and if one of us is having difficulty, then we can create a party again. Until then, we just blitz on through until we reach the 200th floor.”

Renoir raised a brow.

“Is it because of the experience sharing?”

Rael nodded.

“Obviously.”

“I see… Well, I don’t mind it. You said you get a shit ton of experience, so I’ll just believe you. How about this then, why don’t we go our separate ways and meet up on the 100th floor?” Renoir said.

“I feel like you’d have a trigger finger to go higher,” Nyx chimed in.

Renoir cocked his head back.

“Well, you’re not wrong. I’d wait like an hour or two for him. If he doesn’t show up, I’m gone.”

Rael had already told him about how it gets difficult on the 101st floor and upwards. Obviously, the boss floors would be even harder, so even Rael was a little skeptical about such stuff.

But he also knew that if he couldn’t hack it, he’d be a failure. So with that in mind, Rael made sure the two of them agreed, and once they did, he went ahead and ordered a bigger batch of food before sitting down at Renoir’s table.

And when Nyx sat down beside Rael, they began to wait for their food.

In the meantime, Rael relaxed and tried his best not to think about the time difference on the outside… but then again, considering he was nearly 10 hours in by now, 4 years and a couple of months had passed.

He was honestly shocked, since he knew that after a good night’s rest, which he was definitely not about to take, another 4 years would pass.

Honestly… he wished that this was all just one big joke, but then again, he decided to trust in what Nyx said.

But even so, when the food arrived, Rael decided to devour it without wasting a single second.
