Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 883 - 883: Retrieving Him

After what felt like a few dozen years, Rael finally managed to figure it out. He did feel like a bit of a dumbass at first, since he was already considered very smart.

But by that logic, if someone a bit more stupid were to attempt something like this, they’d probably spend a few eons trying to figure it out.

On the bright side, Rael did so, and now, whenever he cast that skill, he was met with a slight delay, followed by a powerful pitch-black blast that wiped out everything in sight. This time, it managed to pierce outside of the tower, revealing a thick, starry landscape as well as several dozen pitch-black eyes.

It reminded him of some Eldritch games he had played. Though, these eyes were perhaps just a little more creepy than what he had seen in those games.

Anyhow…

“Aside from the delay that I never managed to figure out, I think I did it now,” Rael said out loud.

Gaia, who was resting beside him, let out a sigh.

“You did. But yeah… How viable is that delay in a fight?”

“Who says I’ll use it in a fight?” Rael raised a brow. “Like the pacifist that I am, I’ll only use it whenever I want to blow some shit up. For one, that 500th floor is going to get fucked the moment I enter it. Hehehe…”

Well… Rael wasn’t known for his discreteness. But then again, at least he was happy that he managed to do this in the first place.

Calculation-wise… All Rael did was cast the attack over and over again, seeing the patterns that formed. Obviously, there was a faint trace of mana behind each attack, and when he looked closer into that trace of mana, he saw a mana circle, as well as what consisted of that mana circle.

That was what Rael had tapped into and altered in his mind. All he needed to do was just memorize that mana circle. Of course, he tried to mass-produce some similar attacks, but they always just kind of fizzled out, since the combination or whatever wasn’t working as it should.

Anyhow…

Rael closed his eyes and then quickly left the Prophetic Realm. Once he was back out in the open, he glanced over at the others and smiled.

“I think we’re ready now. Anything else you guys wanna do before we leave this place?” Rael said.

No one said a word, except for Gaia, who chimed in:

“We probably shouldn’t leave without Renoir.”

“Why? He’s a big boy. He’ll be able to escape,” Rael replied.

Gaia shook her head. “Be that as it may, I believe it’s only a matter of time before he gets targeted. It’s also a matter of time before his wife is targeted as well. I suggest we wait for them.”

Right as Rael was about to reply, Gaia raised her hand. In the next instant, she grabbed his cheek and then abruptly teleported the two of them away. He was very puzzled by what had just happened, but when he realized that he was currently sitting on the 50th floor, Rael’s confusion disappeared.

After all, it didn’t take long for him to spot Renoir right by the statue, ready to go up to the next boss floor. Yet it seemed like he spotted us too, as he turned around and raised his brow.

“Rael, I still have not forgiven you for that slap.”

Rael shrugged. “If a weak slap was enough to piss you off, then you’re not as strong as you say you are.”

When in doubt, gaslight his problems out.

Or something~

“Unbelievable…” Renoir sighed, then regained his composure as he glanced between Rael and Gaia. “What are you two here for? If it’s nothing, then allow me to continue going forward, as I am plenty busy as is.”

Finding his wife, of course.

Well, Gaia insisted on helping him, so Rael didn’t really have much of a say in any of this. Because of that, he went ahead and stepped back, allowing Gaia to deal with the rest.

“I’ve decided to spare you the trouble of endlessly searching back and forth for your wife, as you will most likely be dead by next week,” she said.

Then, she narrowed her eyes. “Which is why I’m offering you a deal. I’m going to take you to the 495th floor, and then I will also take your wife there. Our group will escape this tower, and so will you. Do you understand me?”

“Ugh… You remind me of my wife. All this nagging is just…” Renoir paused for a moment. “Will you be relaying my words to my wife?”

“Indeed.” Gaia nodded.

That was all he needed to know that he should probably shut up and not say anything else. Instead, Renoir just gave her a thumbs up.

“Fine. It’s not like I wanted to be stuck in this place anyway. I’m up for it.”

“Good, then eat this,” Gaia said and tossed some type of brown seed at him. He stared at it, a little puzzled, then swallowed it. His face scrunched up in disgust, almost like it was the worst thing he had ever eaten.

Even Rael felt a little bad for him.

Still…

“It’s a one-time teleportation seed. I’ll go to the 495th floor and teleport you there. The seed will detonate in your chest, and it might hurt a little. So try not to cry like a baby.”

He scoffed. “As if I’d ever cry. Bring it on, woman.”

Rael chuckled from the side. Whenever Gaia said that, he knew for a fact she meant every word. Rael didn’t expect to see Renoir crying today, but it seemed like that would soon happen, and it would brighten his day.

So with that in mind, Gaia went ahead and placed her hand on Rael’s cheek again before teleporting them back to the 495th floor. Afterwards, she went ahead and snapped her fingers, bringing Renoir there as well.

And just like she said…

“AAAAAAAH!”

He was screaming like a baby.
