Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 248: Ch 248 : Rearranging The Heirarchy

"I am here, working under the Demon Lords, for a simple reason," Edgar said, his voice losing its crazy edge, replaced by a heavy, sullen resignation.

"I am a refugee. I cannot leave this multiverse. If the Void Master, King Zero, were to sense my presence… my entire family, my parents who saved me, would pay the ultimate price for their defiance."

Sunny sat on his throne, absorbing the torrent of cosmic lore. He nodded slowly. His mind buzzed with a thousand new questions.

Who created the Void Master? Was there a reality beyond the reality of the Void Beasts? Was it like an onion but with infinite layers.

But he forced those thoughts aside. A cold realization dampened his curiosity. 'What is the point of pondering the ocean when I am not even the strongest fish in my own little aquarium?'

"Still," Sunny asked, leaning forward, his chin resting on his hand. "Why work under Deimos? You are a Royal Void Beast. A higher being. Why not make him work under you?"

Edgar laughed, "Hierarchy isn't just about blood, little God. It's about power. And I… I am empty."

He gestured to his two-toned body. "Even though I am from the Nihilum Clan, I am weak. All the buffs my parents poured into me, all the blessings of the Royal Bloodline… my innate talent devoured them all. They became one-time consumables. I am a bottomless pit that cannot be filled."

He looked up, his red circular eyes dim. "If I had challenged Deimos's authority, I would have lost. He is a genius of this realm. I am just a cursed being. So, I accumulated strength. I hid. I waited."

"Oh," Sunny mused. "So that means beings from the Shallow Void, like us, like Deimos, can defeat those from the Real Void?"

"Yes," Edgar confirmed. "Power is power. SSS-Grade is the pinnacle of law. But…" He paused, a sneer curling his crooked lips.

"Any true member of the Royal Clan possesses four to five SSS-Grade talents at a minimum. And those with high concentrations of the bloodline… they possess Divine Talents."

Sunny froze. "Divine Talents? What are those?" He thought of his own arsenal; Divine Growth, Divine Command, Divine Immortality.

"They are talents with 'Divine' in their name," Edgar explained, his tone dripping with superiority.

"Divine Regeneration, Divine Concentration. They operate on a logic that surpasses the laws themselves. They are not something a bug from a bubble like you can ever hope to acquire."

Sunny raised an eyebrow behind his mask. He knew his Skill-Resonance upgrades his acquired talents into something that is otherwordly, and now it seemed this classification actually existed.

"So, where is your Divine Talent, oh great Edgar of the Nihilum Clan?" Sunny asked with a dry chuckle.

Edgar's mouth opened to protest, to boast, but he closed it again. He had nothing. He was the exception.

"Another question," Sunny pressed, moving on. "How did you buff Deimos? You said you can't use magic" sunny asked.

He thought about the past where, after Deimos defeated the Gods a million years ago, Deimos suddenly gained the power to sense him accross million years from future.

"My parents," Edgar muttered. "They tried to save me. They poured artifacts, elixirs, and divine buffs into me. My talent sucked them dry, rendering them useless to me. But…"

He hesitated. "I found I can use them. I can give these powers to others. that's how I buffed Deimos."

Sunny stared at the small creature. Edgar was a living tragedy. A joke by heaven.

"And wouldn't this Void Master of yours bless me if I returned you?" Sunny asked, testing the waters. "If I handed you over and exposed your parents?"

"Yes, he would bless you," Edgar said, a dark certainty in his voice. "He would bless you with Execution. He would grant you a death so absolute that even your little immortality trick wouldn't save you. You would simply get erased."

"Why?" Sunny frowned. "I thought he hated you."

"He doesn't hate anyone from the royal family," Edgar corrected. "Everything is his. He created the Void. But he cares about the stability of the world he built. He cares about the ecosystem." He looked Sunny dead in the eye.

"And I… I am a cancer. I would have erased everything… if I hadn't been killed."

"You are boasting again," Sunny scoffed, flicking his finger against the cage bars, making them ring. "How could you erase everything? Your talent is just a glorified 'Thorns' armor. You're a punching bag that hits back."

Edgar stared at the finger that had flicked him. For a moment, the terrified creature vanished, replaced by the memory of a nightmare.

"My talent is sealed, you fool," Edgar whispered. "When I was born… I nearly killed my own mother. I didn't just absorb attacks. I absorbed existence. I sucked the mana, the life, the light, and the gravity out of the room"

"My body was an uncontrollable black hole. The Void Master placed a seal on me to stop me from eating the Royal Palace. That is why he ordered my death."

Sunny pulled his hand back. The air in the God space suddenly felt very cold.

"That's… sad," Sunny said finally. It was an understatement.

But pity was a luxury for the safe. Sunny was not safe.

"That was a lot of information," Sunny said, standing up. "But it doesn't change your position."

He snapped his fingers. The cage, with the tragic child of the void inside, vanished, teleported to a high-security, SSS-Grade containment cell deep beneath the Emperor's Palace.

Sunny stood alone in the silence.

'Lady Sansa…' he thought, the name of the mother Void rolling around in his mind.

'Why did you create me? Why did you give me Manifestation Affinity, the power of the Royal Family? What is Your purpose.'

He shook his head violently. "Useless," he muttered. "Philosophizing won't stop Ichor from melting my face off."

He opened the system clock.

His eyes narrowed. The countdown he had been watching for a century of accelerated time was finally ending.

"Only ten seconds left," Sunny whispered, rubbing his hands together. "Time to claim the crown."

He closed his eyes and extended his senses. He looked past the boundaries of his own palace, and peered into the the newly constructed building.

Adam, the God of Growth, was currently walking through the halls of the newly constructed Mind Forge.

He wasn't training. He was visiting old ghosts. He walked past the containment units holding the captured auras of the Old friends, his rivals, his betrayers.

"I hope you guys are happy, wherever you are," Adam whispered to the swirling energies, his voice thick with a million years of grief.

He moved deeper into the forge, towards the area where the aura was strongest, losing himself in the memories of a lost age.

Sunny watched him. 'Sorry, old friend,' Sunny thought. 'But I need to surpass where you stood.'

The timer hit zero.

Sunny activated Skill-Resonance.

He focused his entire will on Adam. He bypassed the Divine Growth he already had. He didn't even look at the SS-Grade. He aimed for the core, the very definition of Adam's existence.

There was no pain. No struggle. Just a sudden shift in the multiverse. Sunny felt a weight settle onto his shoulders, but it wasn't a burden. It was a mantle.

He felt his connection to the cosmos shift. The laws of reality didn't just exist around him; they acknowledged him even better than before.

He felt the hierarchy of the universe rearrange itself, placing him on a pedestal that stood above Kings, above Emperors, above even the concept of species.

He opened his eyes. The swirling galaxies in his mask seemed to burn with a new intensity. He checked the description, his heart hammering against his ribs.
