The world continued to move even while Liam enjoyed himself on Earth.
Blackstone City, usually quiet despite its dangerous surroundings, had become a hunting ground.
The three Core Formation assassins that were tasked to take care of Liam had arrived in the city. And they had arrived with one goal; to find Liam and erase him. Failure was not an option, and retreat was even worse.
For the past two days, they tore through Blackstone's shadows like silent wolves as they tried to find Liam.
The first assassin, a tall man with scarred knuckles, stopped in the middle of a deserted street at night.
"His traces end here," he muttered.
The second assassin, a small woman with sharp eyes, stood beside him.
"I checked Master Han's shop. He visited twice but nothing more after that."
The third assassin jumped down from a roof, landing beside them without sound. "I searched the inn he stayed in. Same thing. No clue of his current location."
They frowned at each other.
Three assassins of this level should not struggle with a single target. Yet they found less than nothing. It was like Liam had walked out of the world itself.
Even so, none of them even thought about leaving.
"He vanished once for months after the fight with the Xuan and Fang families," the leader said. "He will appear again. And when he does… we finish the mission."
They nodded. They were prepared to wait weeks, months—even a full year. As long as Liam was alive, they would not walk away.
Their presence had slowly changed the atmosphere around Blackstone. Unrelated cultivators felt a quiet but heavy pressure in the air, as if something dangerous waited in the city's corners. They assumed a high-rank battle might erupt at any time, so the wise ones left or stayed inside at night.
But the assassins never moved recklessly. They kept their existence hidden and watched every road that led out of the city.
They were patient.

While danger brewed in Blackstone, Velaris was undergoing something else entirely.
Chaos—but the joyful kind, as Lucid had exploded in popularity.
It all began with Gartner. His small excitement had turned into something that would shake the entire capital.
When he took the device home, his parents thought he had been tricked. A simple eyeglass that could teach skills, send messages without mana, and store knowledge? Impossible.
He didn't blame them either, as he also still found it hard to believe. But that disbelief shattered quickly.
Gartner showed them how to use the device, sent a voice clip to his mother, and then received her reply instantly from another part of the house.
At first, they were stunned. Then, they tested distance—separate floors, opposite ends of the courtyard, even the neighboring street.
Every message came through with perfect clarity. No mana needed and there was no range limit.
It was the first miracle.
The second miracle came the next day.
After seeing what the device could do, his parents told him to wear it and take it with him into the dungeon. They hoped it worked, but neither of them expected anything.
Gartner joined a small team and entered a simple dungeon meant for beginners. Everything went fine until they reached the deepest part of the dungeon… and saw something wrong.
The boss that greeted them was not the boss they expected.
Unfortunately for them, they had entered an Anomalous Dungeon. The types of dungeons that are nightmares for low-rank adventurers.
The monster was stronger than anything a beginner team could handle. The guards fought hard, but their limit was clear. They couldn't defeat the creature. They could only protect Gartner for a short time before the fight turned against them.
And when it did, fear hit everyone at once.
Gartner felt his hands shake. He was sure he would die there. Then he remembered the Lucid on his face.
He opened the call panel and shouted at the top of his voice:
"Father! It's an anomalous dungeon! We're trapped near the boss room!"
His father, who was in the middle of a merchant meeting, froze when he heard his son's terrified voice in his mind.
He did not wait and he did not ask questions. Neither did he did finish his meeting.
He rushed out of the building, summoned a rescue team, and stormed into the dungeon within minutes.
When he got there, he found his son alive but exhausted, he hugged him so tight that the others looked away respectfully.
When they got back, the news spread through the city in hours.
By morning, almost everyone, if not everyone in Velaris had heard about the miracle device that allowed instant calls inside a dungeon. Something no crystal ball could do and no communication artifact had ever done.
The next morning, the store exploded with customers and lines formed outside.
From one customer… to a hundred… to more than a hundred and fifty sales in two days.
Chrises had never smiled so much in her life.
Her shoulders relaxed and her confidence grew. She handled customers with pride and answered questions with calm certainty. Lucy guided her whenever needed.
With the shop booming, she also expected trouble from greedy nobles, thieves, or enemies, but she trusted Liam completely. She trusted his security systems and she trusted the robots standing by the walls. They were silent, but their presence alone scared away any thought of theft.
Everything was changing so fast.

Far from the chaos of the shop, Liam returned to Velaris quietly.
He appeared on the roof of the inn where Chrises lived and walked to the edge.
He stepped off the roof and the air wrapped around him gently as he descended. When he floated outside Chrises' window, he paused.
She was inside, adjusting her night dress. She smiled softly to herself, lost in a thought he couldn't hear.
Then she sensed a presence. Her head shot up and her body tensed immediately.
When she saw him hovering calmly outside her window, her eyes softened and she exhaled in relief.
She opened the window and bowed slightly. "Master."
"Good evening," Liam said with a smile. "I heard the shop has been busy."
Chrises' face brightened instantly. "Yes. It has been amazing. And it's all thanks to the device you made."
Liam chuckled lightly. "You did well. Rest now."
Chrises nodded with a small smile. She watched him rise into the air again. When he vanished above the roof, she leaned out slightly, staring at the empty night for a moment longer before returning and slipping into bed.
Liam sat back on the roof tiles, crossed his legs, and exhaled softly.
"System, sign-in" he said.
[Ding!]
[Congratulations, Host, you received 100,000 Gold Coins]
[You received 10,000 Purple Grade Mana Crystals]
Liam nodded calmly. These rewards were useful, but nothing surprising. Still, progress was progress.
He rose from the roof and stepped forward.
The next moment, he vanished and returned to Macau.
His vacation wasn't over.
