Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me

Chapter 637: The Last Trial?

Daniel stepped onto the fifth floor. He looked around, and to his surprise, unlike all the previous floors, this one had the most ordinary space so far.

He found himself in a battlefield that seemed to be floating in the galaxy. There were no spectator seats, only a single, extremely large combat arena.

It reminded him of the final floor of the Death Pagoda. There, he had also fought the Prophet of Death, and that place had the exact same structure. Could this floor be the same? Would he have to fight a prophet here as well, or something similar?

But did that mean this was the final floor of this pagoda?

He did not need to think for long. By turning his head, he immediately found his opponent.

At the center of the empty space, the guardian was standing.

It had a human-shaped body, but it had no face, nor any strange or monstrous features like the monsters before. It was completely white, not an ordinary white like walls or light, but a pure, featureless white, without any human traits.

No eyes, no nose, no mouth, no ears. Just two arms, two legs, a torso, and a head.

At that moment, Daniel suddenly realized something strange. All of his powers were sealed. He could not feel the Law of Death or Thunder at all. He could not even feel mana inside his body.

There was practically nothing.

He summoned his sword. The Heavens Honor appeared in his hand, but even its blade was not screaming like it usually did. A calm, gray aura slowly formed around the sword.

Seeing this, he realized that even the sword had lost its abilities. What did this mean? How was he supposed to fight without any power?

However, that was when he noticed something else. One of his powers was still there, the Law of Eternity. He could still use the Law of Eternity, and what was even more interesting was that he could use it without any source at all.

In other words, there was no limitation on his use of the Law of Eternity.

"So only Eternity…" But before he could think any further about his situation

The guardian attacked.

Without warning and without haste. It only took a single step forward.

But that single step bent space itself.

[ Still Eternal ]

With each step, distance became meaningless. The guardian suddenly appeared in front of Daniel, as if walking was just an old habit, not a necessity.

Daniel reacted. He raised his sword and slashed with the aura of Eternity. The blade connected, but to his surprise, nothing happened.

It was neither blocked nor stopped. It was as if the strike had never been accepted at all. How was something like that even possible?

The guardian threw a punch. The punch was not fast, but when it struck Daniel's chest, he felt as if it was not his body that cracked, but a moment of his existence itself. He was sent flying several meters backward.

[ Eternal Weight ]

Each strike carried the weight of endlessly repeating moments. Not pain, but the pressure of existence itself.

Daniel coughed. There was no blood, but he felt something inside him shift. He felt that every blow from this guardian carried the weight of Eternity, as if its power was infinite and heavier than anything he had ever experienced.

That weight was something words could not describe. Perhaps only the word "Eternity" came close to explaining it.

He frowned and fully released the aura of Eternity. Gray energy wrapped around his body.

He stepped forward, gripped the sword with both hands, and delivered a long, continuous slash.

He did not have many skills based on the Law of Eternity, and unfortunately, he could not use any of them right now. However, that was not a problem. His understanding of the Law of Eternity had reached a level where he could easily create skills himself.

[ Everlasting Edge ]

A strike without an end. Eternity meant endless continuity, so his strikes would also be endless.

The attacks hit the guardian, and for the first time, he managed to leave scratches on it. But those scratches felt meaningless, as if they had no meaning when applied to Eternity itself.

[ Moment Refusal ]

As if those cracks… had never happened.

Time retreated for a moment, not backward, but to a state where "it had always been this way." The guardian's armor moved without pause and threw another punch, this time directly at the sword.

The Heavens Honor trembled. Daniel was forced several steps back. His hands were numb.

He took a deep breath and circulated the energy of Eternity through his body, trying to calm himself. Using Eternity, he healed his wounds, imitating the guardian and making those wounds meaningless.

The guardian tilted its head slightly, as if it was satisfied with what Daniel had done.

But it was not enough.

[ Unbroken Continuum ]

The attacks did not stop. Every defense Daniel made only touched a part of an endless flow. Punches, elbows, palm strikes, everything came one after another, without gaps, without rhythm, without exhaustion.

Daniel was pushed back. He was hit. He fell and stood up again.

He did not drop his sword, but his body was no longer fully coordinated. He had touched Eternity, but he had not yet become one with it.

The guardian stopped in front of him and waited, as if it wanted to see what this human would do next, and whether he could find a way to defeat it.

"I'm still fighting against Eternity, not becoming eternal myself," Daniel murmured to himself. Based on his observations, the guardian standing before him was the embodiment of Eternity itself.

He was fighting Eternity.

But the question was, to win, did he have to defeat Eternity, or become it?

And then another question followed. To defeat Eternity, or to become Eternity… what was he supposed to do?

Both of them were stupid questions, and if this were anywhere else, he would not have even thought about something like that. But unfortunately, this pagoda had a strong fondness for mental games.

He had no idea.
