SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God

Chapter 658: The scary angel

Aurora's voice rang out like a delighted war bell, wings flaring dramatically as venomous mist drifted across the battlefield.

"Everyone follow us to the northern gate if you don't want to die!" she announced cheerfully, far too cheerfully for someone warning three hundred thousand players about imminent mass poisoning.

Then, with a bright smile that did not match the apocalyptic scene behind her, she added. "Of course, anyone who has confidence in their poison resistance, feel free to stay back and enjoy the show!"

Her words hit the Blood Domain recruits like a lightning bolt. There was instantly more chaos. Everyone was well aware of Damon's poison effect by now, thanks to the Blood Hall battle. No one wanted to sample it.

"I have zero poison resistance! Move!!"

"Bro, I can't even handle food poisoning!"

"If you stay, here you're a psychopath!!"

"Why is poison a show?!"

Kate also gave her command, making everyone rush. "Groups of thirty! MOVE NOW! Don't step in the crimson puddles. Those are lethal!!" Players surged behind her like a tidal wave of panic.

Meanwhile, Aurora floated backwards elegantly, dark wings sweeping gracefully as she escorted the masses, like a celestial shepherd guiding terrified sheep, except she looked thrilled, as if front-row seats to Damon's carnage were the highlight of her entire existence.

Behind them, the eastern wall continued to melt, corrode, and collapse under Damon's poisonous rainfall. The entire skyline shimmered with red-green smoke, creating a scene so horrifying it looped back around into awe-inspiring.

Some brave recruits slowed down, glancing back with fascination.

"Dude… look at the wall…"

"It's actually liquefying…"

"Is this even legal?!"

"I want to re-roll poison build NOW."

Aurora glanced over her shoulder and called out sweetly. "Anyone who stays too close and dies, don't blame hubby! He's in the zone!"

Kate groaned, dragging two players by their helmets before they tripped into a corrosive puddle. "Aurora," she said through clenched teeth, "STOP encouraging them to watch!"

"But it's so pretty-"

"It's a death cloud, not a firework show!"

"A very romantic death cloud."

"I swear to everything holy!"

The two women herded what was left of sanity as the Blood Domain army sprinted for the northern gate. When they arrived there, they were immediately met with another golden barrier.

Everyone instinctively turned towards the direction of their glorious guild leader, wondering if he was going to get over here to smash this one open as well, but to their shock, Aurora took the lead instead.

Aurora had already become extremely famous after the Blood Hall battle for her catchy black feather wings. Not to mention, she was a drop-dead gorgeous beauty with a suitable armor to boot that accentuates her features.

Everybody had many guesses about her class and Aurora was not exactly on the down low about it. So by now it was common knowledge that she was a fallen angel. The only thing that was still unclear was her actual power level.

Everybody could tell that a fallen angel class should be top-tier but by how much exactly? It looked like today that question was going to be finally answered.

The entire Blood Domain guild and all the spectators of the live streaming held their breaths as they watched the single woman shoot forward towards the golden barrier like a black arrow.

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

"Holy shit!"

"She's fast!"

"Is that a movement skill?!"

"Bro, is she actually S-rank??"

Even the defenders atop the northern wall blinked in confusion. Surely, there couldn't be another monster like Blood God who could shatter their barrier single-handedly? Unfortunately for them…

Aurora's silhouette grew sharper as she approached the barrier, every feather on her wings shimmering with layered cursed inscriptions. When the sun hit her armor, it scattered into fractal black-gold reflections that made her look almost ethereal, an angel sculpted from forbidden divinity.

"There she goes…" Kate muttered, half in awe, half in dread.

While everyone watched the show with bated breath, all of a sudden, Aurora stopped abruptly right in front of the golden barrier. "Just kidding. I can't punch things like hubby. I am a dainty little angel." She giggled and simply ran her fingers along the golden barrier.

A devious yet devastating smile appeared on her face as the barrier slowly started turning black along the points she touched. The radiant light began rotting. The runes flickered, trembled, and then warped as if an invisible corruption was sinking into them. Darkness spread across the barrier like ink blooming through water.

Aurora tsked lightly, as though chastising a misbehaving child. "Such a pretty barrier… terrible taste, though. Gold? Really? So tacky." She tapped the barrier with one finger. A pulse of pure darkness rippled out.

She then turned towards the assembled guild members and raised a brow. "What are you all waiting for? Like I said, I am not as awesome as hubby. You guys have to pitch in to. Let's go. Attack the barrier."

Before a bunch of attacks could land on her, Aurora swiftly flew around and landed in the midst of the crowd. Along with everyone else attacking, she tossed in her attack as well, except hers caused the already disintegrating barrier to shudder and tremble.

The fight quickly devolved into a pit fight where both sides were giving and taking. Thanks to Kate and Aurora healing and tanking most of the damage, the unruly makeshift guild was able to get an advantage in the guild and the entire barrier crumbled down.

The moment the golden fragments dissolved into the air, a roar of triumph erupted from the Blood Domain players. The war was just starting and they had already tasted their first victory!

But before the cheering even fully peaked, the defenders on the northern wall unleashed hell.

"Fire!!"

"Don't let them in!!"

"Use everything! do not let the gate fall!!"

Ballista bolts whistled through the sky. Mages hurled elemental storms. Archers rained arrows like locust swarms. NPC soldiers charged with formation-perfect precision.

The Blood Domain recruits on the other hand charged with absolute madness. Everyone knew that the fight was going to be a losing battle but they were already here and what was one death in the grand scheme of things? So the entire unruly guild population went all out in every which way.
