Richard and Grace got off the carriage and continued on foot toward the city gate.
It was still midday, and they had time to look around.
Grace also seemed curious about such a massive city.
And perhaps because of their appearance—one handsome, one beautiful—they easily became the center of everyone's attention.
"Is that boy named Richard really that tough? He slaughtered Grimoire Realm Magi as if they were mere cabbages even though he's still in the World Realm."
"Yeah, no doubt about it. I heard it from my uncle, and my uncle saw it himself. He was in the Holy Star Kingdom when the war happened."
"An eighteen-year-old boy that strong… who could possibly match him at his age?"
"He won't find an opponent his age. His enemies are the older ones, like Prince Charles."
Richard heard several people chatting casually, but their topic was him.
This was unexpected. It seemed his name had spread far and wide.
But no one recognized his face even though he didn't disguise himself at all.
What surprised him next was that entering the city required payment for first-time visitors.
He and Grace were immediately detected as newcomers.
And the fee wasn't cheap—10,000 Nature Spirits for a single World Realm cultivator. Each realm had a different price.
For entering a city, this was ridiculous.
Fortunately, it was only for the first entry.
Richard didn't pay because Grace paid first.
She seemed prepared beforehand.
They both then stepped into the city.
The first thing that welcomed them was a wine shop so large it was practically the size of a football field.
Its entire front wall was made of glass, allowing Richard to see inside from outside.
The customers were many, from old to young.
The attendants were beautiful women who looked like noble ladies—elegant and refined.
"Richard, let's buy some wine first. I've heard about this shop for a long time," Grace said.
Richard could only nod. A wine lover like Grace would never pass this place.
Perhaps because of their appearance, a beautiful attendant immediately approached them.
"Sir, miss, welcome to the Thousand Flavors Wine Shop. Is there any wine that interests you? You may describe what kind of wine you want so I can choose the best for you," the attendant said with a sincere smile, her eyes lingering on Richard's face as if enchanted.
"I want the strongest, most intoxicating white wine," Grace answered in a rather firm tone.
Even though they were only words, she was clearly sending the attendant a signal not to stare at Richard.
The attendant trembled slightly when she saw the look in Grace's red eyes.
She nodded quickly.
"Please follow me, sir, miss," she said, still trying to remain friendly.
She then guided them to the center of the shop.
Richard saw far too many types of wine, whether in bottles or jars.
He didn't know the differences, but each wine's price startled him—ranging from 1,000 Nature Spirits to tens of thousands. Some even reached 100,000.
When they reached the central area where rows of white wine were displayed, Richard let out a small sigh of relief because these ones were only priced between 1,000 and 5,000—much cheaper.
Perhaps the overly expensive wines had special effects. And Grace only wanted the most intoxicating one because she needed strong wine to get drunk.
"Please choose, sir, miss," the attendant said politely.
Of course, Richard didn't choose anything—he simply looked at Grace.
He planned to pay, but choosing was her job.
She observed bottle after bottle, smelling their fragrances.
Whenever she found one with an appealing aroma, she took it and handed it to the attendant.
Even though the prices weren't high, Richard noticed she picked up to fifty bottles before she finally stopped.
"How much for all of it?" Grace asked the attendant, who had already transferred the wines into a Storage Artifact.
"The total is 174,000 Nature Spirits," the attendant replied, having finished counting.
Just for wine, Richard felt a little bothered—but he still quickly handed over a Storage Artifact to her.
"There should be 174,000 Nature Spirits inside," Richard said.
The attendant accepted the artifact and nodded after checking it before handing the filled artifact to Grace.
"Is there anything else you would like, sir, miss?" she asked hopefully, knowing these two were far more than just rich.
Even in this city, it was rare for customers to buy so much at once.
"This is enough," Grace replied, immediately walking away.
Richard felt pleased with her choice and walked beside her.
As they passed through the exit doors, Richard saw a man around thirty with neatly kept brown hair, looking handsome and accompanied by a beautiful black-haired woman.
The man looked at Richard in shock.
Erick Goldwood—Richard recognized the man who once wanted to buy Athena's Bloodline Core from Sterling.
The fact that he was stunned meant he recognized Richard as well. Perhaps he had received the latest portrait.
Instead of greeting him, Erick pulled his woman and hurriedly walked away.
"Who is he?" Grace asked, sensing there was some connection.
"His name is Erick Goldwood," Richard answered, explaining who the man was.
"So that's him." After hearing his name, Grace actually looked excited.
Richard couldn't help asking, "Is there something special about him?"
He knew the man, but not why Grace reacted that way.
"His father and mother are members of the Boundless Temple. You know, entering their ranks is extremely difficult. Talent and strength don't even matter much to the temple. But since his parents managed to enter, they possess certain authority. Back then, Charles used their help to gain advantages," Grace explained.
"Ohhh…" Richard began to understand Grace's intentions when he saw her expression.
She seemed to be planning to use Erick Goldwood as well—to gain the same kind of advantages.
"Do you think we should just capture him?" Richard asked.
From what he saw, Erick was still at the World Realm. He might be at the peak, but so what? Could he defeat a Grimoire Realm Magus like they could?
"It's worth trying—but in this city, fighting will get us arrested. We'll have to do it quietly," Grace said.
