Richard created a shadow eagle, smaller than a normal eagle. Then, he sent it to follow Erick Goldwood from a distance.
The important thing was simply to know his location first.
"But Grace, what exactly does the Boundless Temple have that can help create a Grimoire?" Richard asked as they began walking deeper into the city.
He heard more and more people mentioning his name without knowing he was walking right past them.
"The Boundless Temple is an ancient artifact that recorded almost all Grimoire powers of the Grand Sovereigns from the Land of Human," Grace replied.
"We're not only able to see them, but also feel their power. This way, we can truly learn to the fullest.
"The only problem is endurance. Witnessing and directly feeling the Grimoire powers of Grand Sovereigns can crush us to the point of actual death. That's why we must endure as much as possible.
"To endure, the Boundless Temple provides something called Boundless Gems, which contain tremendous protective energy. But acquiring them isn't easy. You must compete with others, or exchange them for treasures they want. The more we obtain, the longer we can last.
"Of course, if we have connections with members of the Temple, we can get more Boundless Gems more easily. Every member has plenty, and you know… they sometimes need something for themselves. And if we manage to take their children hostage, we can extort them."
Hearing Grace's final sentence, Richard revealed a faint smile.
Grace truly did not restrict her morality in pursuit of power. But after all, she was raised by Rebecca.
And Richard did not reject her plan. He nodded lightly.
His eyes naturally continued observing the city.
He became increasingly aware that many young Magi here were strong.
Erick clearly wasn't considered talented here. He had likely reached the Peak of the World Realm, but he was at least over forty, despite looking like he was in his thirties.
The ones Richard considered talented were those under thirty who had already reached the Peak of the World Realm.
Of course, reaching the peak didn't necessarily mean their combat strength was exceptional.
There were simply too many kinds of geniuses.
Richard also saw some old men who were only at the Peak of the World Realm, yet the threat he felt from them was incredibly strong, showing that their combat abilities were extremely formidable.
As they continued walking, he realized the road ahead still seemed endless.
He and Grace might walk for an entire day and night and still not reach the city center.
Richard also didn't see any massive buildings yet, so he had no idea what the Boundless Temple actually looked like.
"Ehh…"
He passed by a restaurant but stepped backward, stunned by someone inside—a handsome white-haired young man drinking with a beautiful girl with light blue hair.
"What's wrong?" Grace asked, but Richard couldn't respond.
He stared at the white-haired man whose aura had undergone a significant change despite still looking young.
Who else could he be if not Gray?
Richard could never fail to recognize him.
But the woman drinking with him was definitely not Laura.
From her beauty and noble aura, she was at least a young lady from a major Clan like the Goldwood Clan—perhaps even higher than that.
Laura was far beneath this level.
Their interaction seemed formal, yet as a man and woman, they naturally exchanged faint smiles now and then.
"Hm, that woman should be from the Holy Snow Clan…" Grace said after observing them.
"How strong is that clan?" Richard asked.
"Their history is basically similar to the Holy Star Kingdom's, though they never created a kingdom. They live in the Central Region and existed far earlier than the Holy Star Kingdom. They remain powerful because a formidable Ancient Ancestor is still alive and healthy even now." Grace explained.
"I didn't expect people from the Central Region to come to this city," Richard said.
"Actually, many of the people you've seen in this city are from the Central Region—you just didn't know," Grace replied.
Richard simply smiled and continued walking.
Gray's life seemed to have advanced greatly. Richard couldn't be bothered about it.
He had no idea where Laura was now.
He didn't think Gray would throw her away, though it seemed Gray had started wanting to experience other women.
"Grace, it seems we're still far from reaching the Boundless Temple," Richard said with a bitter smile.
Though he initially wanted to walk, at this rate, even by tomorrow morning they would still be walking.
At least Magi normally didn't walk like this.
Even Erick, who was being tracked by his shadow eagle, had already gone far.
"We don't need to go there right away. Night is coming soon, and the Temple will close shortly. Even if you reach the city center, you won't be able to see the Boundless Temple," Grace replied.
"Ohhh, it has opening and closing hours?" Richard found it strange.
After all, it wasn't a shop. It also wasn't a temple for worship despite its name.
"That's just how it is," Grace said.
"Let's do something else for now. I actually want to visit the biggest Magic Shop in this city."
Hearing "Magic Shop," it was hard for Richard not to be interested.
He nodded instinctively.
One thing he needed now was a stronger weapon.
He only had a Tier 4 weapon besides the Skylight Sword. That was certainly not enough with his current strength because a Tier 4 weapon barely enhanced his attack quality at all.
Even Tier 5 might still be insufficient since he would soon advance to the Grimoire Realm.
He should have a Tier 6 or Tier 7 weapon if he wanted to be truly satisfied.
However, even with more than 50 million Nature Spirits, he doubted he could obtain a Tier 6 weapon.
Such items were among the top treasures in the entire Magus World.
"Let's go… By the way, what's the shop called?" Richard asked.
"Aether Magic Shop," Grace answered.
"They use the name Aether?" Richard found it strange.
"Maybe the owner likes it. What's clear is it's easy for Magi to remember since they're always thinking about Aether. You know, Aether Magic Shop only has branches in the largest cities of each region in the Land of Human. In terms of exclusivity, they surpass the Golden Leaf Auction House, though we don't know which one is richer."
"Who owns it?"
"I don't know. The owner is very secretive, but without a doubt, he is one of the strongest individuals in the Land of Human. Otherwise, the Magic Shop couldn't operate in every major city without any interference."
"Makes sense…"
"It's in the eastern area of the city—let's go…"
Grace began flying.
She and Richard were young, but they could fly without any assistance. This alone was enough to astonish many people.
However, not many could detect that they were only around twenty.
Many Magi looked like them yet were already in their thirties.
Of course, being thirty was still considered very young for Magi.
They flew fairly fast, though not at full speed.
Even so, crossing the city still took a long time.
The sky darkened, yet they still hadn't reached the eastern district.
Richard still couldn't see the end of the city.
He only felt that the buildings in the distance were getting larger—not taller, but broader.
Their height was only three or four stories, but their width ranged from half a football field to ten times a football field.
Richard even saw ones larger than that.
What shocked him the most was a colosseum big enough to rival Apple Town, standing inside a massive crater—though unfortunately, no event was taking place.
ROAR!
Richard was stunned when a gigantic winged lion, more than 150 meters long, suddenly descended from a massive cloud, roaring downward and shaking many people.
He and Grace weren't affected, but they were still startled.
"Hahahaha…" A young man atop the lion laughed loudly.
He wore a coat and a cowboy-like hat, with bright brown hair, skinny build, and fairly handsome appearance.
His arrogance was plain to see.
Many were irritated by his behavior, but when they saw him, even more appeared afraid.
"Do you know who he is?" Richard asked Grace.
But she shook her head.
"I don't know him," she replied.
"Just ignore him. It's not time for us to act conspicuously yet. Here, there are always people with powerful backgrounds acting arrogant."
Richard agreed, continuing to fly while glancing occasionally at the massive lion—which he believed to be a Primordial Beast with Imperial Bloodline.
When he overheard discussions from the crowd, he finally learned who the young man was.
His name was Luke, the grandson of the youngest Ancient Ancestor of the Order of the Crimson Veil.
His grandfather was an Ancient Sovereign, so it was no surprise many feared him.
His age was actually only twenty-five, only seven years older than Richard. Yet he had already reached the Peak World Realm, and his aura showed that his combat strength was extremely high.
