Shi Feirou, knowing what surprised him, shook her head. "Big Brother Chen, this is different. These civilizations have already been assimilated into the vast world for millions of years, even hundreds of millions. Their bloodlines carry the imprint of shackles and time marks that are nearly impossible to break. For them, to break through to become a true-spirit-level emperor in ten thousand years is considered outstanding talent, even among the six human regions and the other peak civilizations, let alone in a top-level civilization like the Blood-Red Horned Race."
"This is also why our human race in the six regions could rise so quickly. Our life shackles are weak, the imprint of time not deep. In just thirty thousand years, countless powerhouses have emerged across the six regions, swiftly filling the gap beneath the true emperors. Because of our rapid rise, we have taken up the benefits and living space of other civilizations, which is why some peak civilizations regard us with hostility."
Alright then.Chen Chu nodded in understanding.
By this logic, Shi Feirou and her sister, both over ten thousand years old, also still counted as part of the younger generation.
Shi Feirou pointed toward an asteroid more than two hundred thousand kilometers away. Upon it stood several eerie figures. They wore tattered gray robes, each holding a withered wooden staff, looking like old men about to be buried.
"That is the Estrela Race. This top-level civilization has very few people, but each one is powerful and strange. Because contact with them has been so rare, the imperial court still has no concrete information on this race."
"So secretive." Black-and-golden vertical pupils slowly appeared in Chen Chu's eyes. In an instant, his gaze spanned the void and enveloped those figures.
The moment the Void Death Pupils fell on them—
Boom!
The leading figure erupted in gray mist, corroding everything around it with a faint hissing sound, even the gaze of the Void Death Pupils. Shrouded in gray mist, the Estrela powerhouses vanished silently, as if they had never been there at all. Even with Chen Chu's Double Void Pupil, he could only catch faint gray traces in the depths of the void, showing that these aliens had entered another dimensional layer.
What a strange power.Chen Chu narrowed his eyes, suppressing the urge to open the True Void Eye for a deeper look. His earlier probing had already alerted them, yet they only retreated. If he continued to pursue, it would be too domineering, needlessly creating enemies.
Exhaling slowly, Chen Chu's blood surged hot.So many alien powerhouses. I really want to smash them all.
He wanted to see whether their racial powers and civilization inheritances were stronger, or if his True Demon God Form was the one truly invincible.
Shi Feirou pointed again, toward figures more than one hundred thousand kilometers away. They were towering beings with four arms, each a thousand meters tall. They trod the starry sky like giants, shouldering totems the size of mountain pillars. Endless soil and stone fragments condensed out of thin air around them, exuding an oppressive heaviness.
"That is the Parti Totem Race, another top-level civilization. The leader, Simonas, is at the middle stage of the true spirit level. It has cultivated for twenty thousand years. The totem pillar it holds is a top-level supreme treasure. With its racial talent, its combat strength is close to the peak of the true spirit level. Very powerful."
"Indeed not weak." Chen Chu nodded.
To stand at the peak of the true spirit level in this layer of the chaotic cosmos already placed one in the first division, second only to the guardians of the peak civilizations.
However, the note that Simonas had cultivated for twenty thousand years still drew Chen Chu's side glance. It was an unimaginably long time for someone like him, only eighteen years old. It was longer than the span of known history on the Blue Planet, yet this figure, already able to be called historical, was still considered a youth.
Well, compared to the Purgatory Primordial Ancestor, who spent nearly a hundred thousand years reaching the late stage of the true spirit level and devouring all of its descendents to finally reach the peak, these aliens did have remarkable talent.
As they waited, more top-level civilization powerhouses soon arrived. There was one from the Golden-Scaled Dragon-Mark Race, a tall, lean figure with golden scales covering its body. A dragon mark spread from its brow, carrying the bloodline of the Golden Overlord Dragon.
Another was from the Fridi Race, a hundred-meter tall, human-shaped being with black fur covering its entire body. It had protruding jaws, pointed ears, and a tail like a Rampage Ape.
There was also the Purple Big Dipper Lightning Race. They were three meters tall, human-like, but with purple scales covering their faces and arms, and a third eye on their foreheads.
Among them, the Golden-Scaled Dragon-Mark Race was friendly with humans, while the Fridi Race leaned close to the Shadow War God Race. Upon arriving, its powerhouse flew directly over to the Shadow War Gods.
Chen Chu recalled this race. The first time he had entered the Ancient Arena, the duelist he had slain had been a Fridi.
That alien's strength had impressed Chen Chu. It could transform like a Saiyan[1], and had fought evenly with him even in his true form.
The Purple Big Dipper Lightning Race was similar to the Silver-Winged Ants, cold in its relations with nearby civilizations. This race was few in number, born with mastery over the divine ability known as the Divine Big Dipper Lightning. Once they broke through to the mythical level, their ability would evolve into the supreme law of Purple Big Dipper Lightning. When they reached the ancient titan level, it would advance further into the supreme principle of Divine Purple Sky Lightning, giving them great combat power. This race was a branch of another distant peak civilization, the Heavenly Punishment Race.
As Chen Chu studied these newly arrived top-level civilizations, Shi Feirou's expression hardened again, her eyes shifting to more than three hundred thousand kilometers away. There, dazzling blue starlight shone, and three figures slowly emerged—two large and one small—each exuding the aura of the true spirit level.
Shi Feirou solemnly said, "Big Brother Chen, that is the Divine Star-Ring Race."
"Are they strong?"
"Very strong." Shi Feirou nodded firmly. "Unlike us and the Shadow War God Race, who were born within the vast world, this alien race comes from another universe. They are born of starlight, each with a different form. The mark of every member is the halo of scattered blue starlight that surrounds it. These Star-Rings are innately capable of driving celestial bodies, commanding gravity, radiation, and repulsion forces, and they control powerful principles. This is a civilization of terrifying potential. The strongest one to appear in the Ancient Battlefield so far was a monarch at the Third Primordial Heaven. Because of this, their civilization has been classified as top-level. But in the past, that monarch once fought a true emperor of a peak civilization. Not only was it not defeated, it even transformed into a true black hole and tore apart that emperor's true form. Though because of the special nature of true emperors, who transcend time and space, the true emperor merely suffered minor injuries before leaving. However, the fight still made the Divine Star-Ring Race's name shake the battlefield."
Even Chen Chu was surprised. "So there really are such beings, born of the stars, or rather, innately born as cosmic lives."
To be born already grasping gravity and repulsion, such top-level forces, was indeed fitting for the identity of an Innate Demon God, and it was a race of Innate Demon Gods born from another universe, its potential shocking. If not for their small numbers and the fact their strongest had not yet broken through to the true emperor level, it would already qualify as a new peak civilization. In fact, it was stronger than most peak civilizations.
However, there was gain and loss. Because of the overwhelming innate power of the individual, their population was sparse, especially compared with humanity, whose numbers were in the hundreds of billions.
At this point, the four peak races and the seven top-level civilizations were all present. Adding to that nearly a hundred alien races scattered within a million kilometers, the atmosphere grew ever more oppressive.
As for why the number of top-level civilizations in this starry region was so few, it was because other top-level civilizations intentionally stayed away, not wishing to draw too near to the peak ones. Only if the confirmed news of a chaotic divine object's emergence spread would those distant powers be drawn over.
"Brother Chen, the Star-Rings are coming." At Shi Feirou's warning, three streaks of blue starlight tore across the heavens, twisting time with breakneck speed, and appeared only thousands of kilometers away.
Boom!
Shi Hong's late-stage true-spirit-level aura erupted, his figure manifesting as a towering presence standing before the Firmament Divine Palace. "Halt. This is the stronghold of the human race. You may not trespass."
"There is no need for alarm. We come with no malice." A calm, unhurried voice sounded as the three streaks of starlight stopped three thousand kilometers away. The blue glow dispersed, revealing the figures within. Two immense forms, each three hundred thousand meters long, looked like starry sky dragons clad in armor but lacking claws.
The smaller one was in the shape of a man. A youth in a robe woven of starlight, with long blue hair falling to its shoulders, stood smiling as it looked toward Chen Chu upon the high throne. Starlight flickered in its eyes, bright and mysterious.
"I am Ximen Jianfeng, from the Star God Universe. A hundred years ago, when I first entered the Ancient Battlefield, I was fortunate enough to meet a powerhouse of the human race. Since then I have admired humanity's civilization greatly. Now that I have once again encountered a human powerhouse upon entering the battlefield, I am delighted. I only came to pay my respects. I hope you will forgive the intrusion."
Its tone and even its name were thoroughly human-like. This alien's demeanor surprised Chen Chu and drew a faint smile to his face. "Your Excellency Ximen Jianfeng, you are too polite. My human race has always loved peace and embraced all civilizations that show goodwill. How could we take offense at such a small matter? Since you're interested in our civilization, once this affair is settled, you are welcome to visit the Chaotic Imperial City as a guest."
Born in another universe, an Innate Demon God of starlight, Chen Chu was genuinely interested in their form of existence and their power system. Facing Chen Chu's invitation, the being called Ximen Jianfeng smiled without refusal. "Then it is agreed. I will certainly visit the Chaotic City."
After their greetings, the three Star-Rings turned into starlight once more and reappeared one hundred thousand kilometers away from the human stronghold.
As the starlight vanished, Shi Feirou softly said, "Big Brother Chen, did you feel that suppressed battle will in Ximen Jianfeng's look when it left?"
"I noticed." Chen Chu nodded slowly.
With the Insightful Eye, a top-level divine ability he had already transcended, Chen Chu was extremely sensitive to gazes, all the more so to the powerful battle will of a true spirit. Even when the other party restrained it, he still felt it clearly.
He had also seen through Ximen Jianfeng's cultivation. Though its power system differed, beneath the starlight Chen Chu discerned its realm. It was the middle stage of the true spirit level, while the other two starry sky dragons were at the beginning stage of the true spirit level.
What puzzled Chen Chu was this: What gave that middle-stage true-spirit-level Star-Ring the confidence to challenge him, a being exuding semi-primordial might? Was it the mighty force it held, as heavy as a neutron star?
As Chen Chu pondered, several ancient-titan-level auras rose from the Heavenly Pool Forbidden Zone. These were scouts various races had sent in before his arrival. One of them flew toward the humans.
Before it even reached them, that ancient-titan-level powerhouse was already shouting, "Reporting to the lord! The direction of the chaotic divine object's emergence within the forbidden zone has been confirmed!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
All across the starry sky, powerful auras erupted.
