Running A Cemetery in North America

Chapter 142: The Arrival of the Evil God Council (Part 2)

Usually when something like this happens, it mostly means a stranger has come to the graveyard.

Sun Yan quickly walked out, and when he reached the gate of the graveyard, he saw an old pickup truck parked outside.

At this moment, Dahuang was barking fiercely at the pickup, baring its teeth continuously.

"Alright, alright, it's fine." Sun Yan patted Dahuang, signaling it to calm down a bit.

He saw a young woman dressed casually in jeans and a short-sleeved shirt get out from the driver's seat, and she looked somewhat familiar to Sun Yan.

"Are you... Sister Jessica?"

Upon seeing the woman's appearance, Sun Yan hesitated a bit, but soon recognized her identity.

She was the nun who, along with Mr. Luoken, mistakenly stumbled into his graveyard during the previous Bloody Sunday.

"Mr. Jackson, something happened."

Jessica opened the rear car door and helped a man out.

The man's chest was wrapped in numerous bandages, his face pale and weak with no signs of color, looking as though he couldn't stand steadily.

If it weren't for Jessica supporting him, he would probably have fallen to the ground in the next second.

"Roken? How did you end up like this, did the Jon Clan find you?"

Sun Yan quickly moved forward to support Roken, anxiously asking.

Since their last meeting in New York City, he hadn't seen this exorcist for a long time.

Unexpectedly, their reunion happened in such a way.

"I don't know, but I know for sure that this time I've gotten into trouble, Jackson, there were demons that appeared in my house, I nearly died at their hands."

Roken said weakly, his voice like a flickering candle in the wind.

"Demons... let's go inside and talk."

Sun Yan's expression was grave, and he helped Roken into the main house.

The wounds Roken suffered this time were extremely severe, almost as if he had one foot in hell, barely managing to make it alive to Sun Yan's graveyard.

In the living room, Roken lay on the sofa while Sister Jessica acted as the spokesperson, explaining the whole story to Sun Yan and the others.

"Last night, Mr. Luoken suddenly came to the church I was at. When he arrived, he was already heavily injured. I used holy water to stop his bleeding and discovered there was even remnants of demonic power in the wounds."

"Mr. Luoken said that some very powerful demons appeared at his residence last night, and even exorcism bullets couldn't harm them much. There was no other way, so Mr. Luoken had to detonate a grenade to barely escape, preserving his life."

"He told me to bring him over to see you, so I took a temporary leave from the church, flew over with him to see you, and even rented the car along the way."

Listening to Jessica's brief introduction, Sun Yan glanced at the TV news, then looked at the weakened Roken: "So it means that the unknown explosion in New York City was caused by you. Since you're injured, you should stay at the church to get treatment. Why run to me? I can't heal wounds."

"I'm worried those demons will find me again. I can't trust the priests in the church, so I came to you for refuge. You wouldn't just watch me die, would you?"

Roken pulled a corner of his mouth into a smile.

"You must have gotten yourself into something, either enemies from previous exorcisms or the Jon Clan found out you're still alive. But this doesn't add up, the demon god they worshiped has already been sent back to hell by us, so where did these demons come from?"

Sun Yan frowned deeply, having no clues at the moment.

Being targeted by demons is much more troublesome than exorcising any Evil Spirits.

Especially hearing that the demons Roken encountered came crawling out of mirrors, this raised the danger level even more.

Fortunately, as long as Sun Yan stays in the graveyard, he doesn't need to worry about similar situations occurring.

He had just obtained the second Tomb Guardian; True Monarch of Pure Origin and Mysterious Dao and the Monkey King are exceptionally powerful divine spirits. If the demons dared to show up, they'd ensure none would return.

"Mr. Luoken's condition doesn't look optimistic. I also brought some holy water to help heal him, but if he encounters another demon attack, he might not survive. Mr. Jackson, please take him in for a while."

Jessica stood up and bowed deeply to Sun Yan, speaking with sincere humility.

As a member of the clergy, Jessica was acutely aware of what it meant for demons to dare to harm people in New York City.

There must be some powerful force backing them, and those demons must also come from such a powerful force. Otherwise, the local church priests aren't just sitting around doing nothing.

There's no way they wouldn't notice demons appearing in the human world.

In Roken's current situation, to survive, he could only find someone powerful to protect him.

And Sun Yan was exactly whom Roken and Jessica believed in as a very strong exorcist.

After all, the graveyard he resides at is linked to hell; how weak could the Tomb Guardian Sun Yan possibly be?

"Both of you can stay at my place for now."

Sun Yan and Roken shared a bond forged in battle, they were life-and-death friends. Seeing him so gravely injured and coming all the way from New York City to California.

After a moment of thought, Sun Yan voiced his agreement.

"Thank you, Jackson." With Sun Yan's consent, Roken couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

He had once witnessed Sun Yan's prowess in exorcism; he was a formidable strength that even the Demon God could not contend with. Having Sun Yan's protection meant he was safe, at least for now.
