Multiple Personalities

Chapter 392: Girl

Shen Jingqi and the others charged forward without hesitation, their steps swift as the wind, filled with fearless courage. The weapons in their hands glimmered coldly as they engaged in a fierce battle with the beasts. Each swing carried the sound of cutting through air, their attacks like a torrential storm raining down, causing the beasts to fall one after another, releasing painful howls. Blood splattered on their bodies, but it did not affect their fighting spirit in the slightest.

The girl looked at them gratefully, tears glistening in her eyes, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke: "Thank you for saving me. My name is Su Yao, who are you? How did you end up here?"

Shen Jingqi briefly introduced his situation, his voice steady and strong: "We don't know how we ended up in this damned place either. We were originally just carrying out a regular mission, and suddenly we got trapped in this Mysterious Land. What about you, Su Yao, why are you here?"

Su Yao shook her head, her eyes full of confusion, and said: "I don't know what this place is either. I woke up here and have been here for several days. It's dangerous everywhere, and I've been trying to find a way out. During the day, I need to dodge beast attacks, and at night, I must beware of unknown monsters. I feel like I'm about to give up." As she spoke, her body trembled slightly, seemingly recalling those terrifying experiences.

Shen Jingqi frowned, filled with doubts.

Lin Yu stood by, a look of urgency on his face, and said: "Shen, we can't just be stuck here forever, we need to figure out a way to leave. This place is too strange, there might be something even scarier waiting for us."

Shen Jingqi nodded and said: "Don't rush, let's ask Su Yao first and see if she has discovered any peculiar places."

So, they sat together, and Su Yao tried hard to recollect her experiences over the past few days. She said: "When I woke up, I was in a forest, it was very quiet around, but soon, a group of beasts appeared. I ran desperately to escape their pursuit. Later, I found some strange symbols carved on stones, but I couldn't understand what they meant."

Shen Jingqi's eyes lit up, and he said: "Strange symbols? Where are they? Quickly, take us to them."

Su Yao stood up and said: "They're not far ahead, I'll take you there."

They followed Su Yao towards the depths of the forest. The leaves beneath their feet rustled, as if narrating the secrets of this Mysterious Land. With each step, Shen Jingqi became extra cautious, his eyes vigilantly observing the surroundings, weapon tightly held.

Suddenly, a giant beast leapt out from the bushes beside them, baring its fangs and claws, lunging towards them. Shen Jingqi reacted quickly, sidestepping and swinging his weapon, aiming at the beast's neck. The beast let out a scream and fell to the ground.

Lin Yu, still shaken, said: "How did this beast suddenly appear, scared me to death."

Shen Jingqi said: "Everyone, be careful, danger can arise at any moment here."

Finally, they arrived at the place Su Yao had mentioned. On a massive stone lay strange symbols, twisting and turning, resembling some ancient script. Shen Jingqi crouched down, carefully observing these symbols, his frown tightening.

"What do these symbols mean?" he muttered to himself.

Lin Yu came over and said: "Shen, can you understand them? Could they be clues to leave this place?"

Shen Jingqi shook his head and said: "I'm not sure, but they're definitely related to this place. Let's record these symbols first, maybe they'll be useful later."

As they were recording the symbols, they suddenly heard a rumbling noise, akin to an earthquake, causing the ground beneath their feet to tremble. Dust flew, leaves were startled into falling.

"What's that noise? Is it another danger?" Lin Yu said in fear, his face turning pale, eyes full of terror.

Shen Jingqi stood up and shouted: "Don't panic, let's check the situation first."

They looked up and saw a huge smoke rising from a distant mountain peak, swirling in the sky like a black dragon, blocking out the sun. Flickering within the smoke were strange lights, seemingly hiding some gigantic power.

"Let's go see," Shen Jingqi said, determination and curiosity evident in his eyes.

Su Yao hesitated and said: "Could it be too dangerous? We don't even know what it is."

Shen Jingqi patted her shoulder and said: "Su Yao, we have no other choice now. Only by bravely facing it can we find a way out. Besides, maybe that's where the secrets we want to know are."

So, they walked towards the mountain peak. Along the way, their hearts were filled with unease. With each step, they could feel the mysterious power calling to them, yet also seeming to warn them.

Lin Yu closely followed Shen Jingqi, whispering: "Shen, I'm a bit scared. What do you think is on that mountain peak?"

Shen Jingqi comforted: "Don't be afraid, I'm here. No matter what we encounter, we'll face it together."

As they approached the mountain peak, they found the surrounding air had become exceedingly hot. The ground displayed many cracks, from which scalding steam occasionally emerged. They carefully circumvented these cracks, pressing on.

Suddenly, a gigantic monster leapt down from the nearby cliff. The creature, as massive as a mountain, was covered with black scales, eyes glimmering red, with green slime dripping from its mouth. It roared angrily, the sound painfully jarring their ears.

"Everyone, be careful!" Shen Jingqi shouted, simultaneously swinging his weapon, charging towards the monster.

Lin Yu and Su Yao picked up weapons as well, joining the battle. They fought desperately against the monster, each attack with all their might. But the monster's power was too great, their assaults seemed to inflict little harm.

The monster swiped a claw towards Shen Jingqi, who hastily dodged, but his arm was grazed, causing blood to flow.

"Shen!" Lin Yu shouted, his eyes filled with concern.

Shen Jingqi gritted his teeth and said: "I'm fine, keep attacking!"

They continued searching for the monster's weakness, and finally, Shen Jingqi seized the opportunity, vigorously stabbing the monster. The creature groaned and, in pain, frantically swiped its claws, trying to drive them away.

Lin Yu took advantage of the moment to attack from the side, fiercely stabbing the monster's leg. The beast staggered, nearly falling. Su Yao also summoned courage, hurling a rock at the monster's head.

Under their combined assault, the creature finally succumbed, collapsing to the ground. They breathed a sigh of relief, but before they could fully relax, the ground began to violently shake again.

"Not good, it seems something more dangerous is coming," Shen Jingqi said, his eyes filled with vigilance.

They looked up to see the smoke on the mountain peak growing denser, as if something gigantic was about to emerge. Suddenly, a huge figure rose from within the smoke, like a creature they've never seen before, its body resembling a small mountain, exuding a terrifying aura.
