Immediately, what was revealed was a thick spear with a diameter of around 50 millimeters, slightly larger than the typical grip of an adult male, requiring one to hold it firmly. Its shaft length was around 9 feet, far taller than Li Ling by about two to three heads, and the tip was a separate piece of glossy red metal that looked like some form of glass.
Within it, one could see liquid blood sloshing about, giving one an eerier feeling when they glanced at it. Its weight was a whopping 20 kg, more than five times the typical weight of a mortal spear of the same size, but that was because Li Ling, as a body cultivator, could easily lift such weights.
In fact, the reason it wasn't made heavier was purely because it was unnecessary. The main task for the artifact refiner was to make the spear compatible with the Blood Asura Descent, and this body cultivation method did not focus on enhancing physical strength much, but speed.
So the lighter the weight for faster movement, the better. A normal body refiner would probably need a spear that weighed at least 100 kg starting from the first realm, much less for the second realm and above.
Li Ling marveled at the design of the spear, for while it was simple in design, it also radiated some form of murderous beauty. Its shaft was pitch black with flecks of red as if blood had splattered on it, these flecks glowing with a malevolent red glow intermittently like a set program.
In fact, the glow seemed to mimic the rate of his breathing, which was interesting to note. On top of that, the shaft segued into the tip with a thin golden band that had a dull luster compared to the rest of the set, but perfectly blended with the bright red tip that seemed to be a glass arrowhead with blood in it.
Once Li Ling held the spear, he immediately felt an intimate connection that transcended his body and mind, as if his very soul fused with it. Immediately, the spear roared to life like a powerful engine switching on, torrents of spiritual energy being sucked from the surroundings that were slowly refined by the spear to power its operations.
His face changed slightly to one of surprise when he felt some of that absorbed energy flow to him, easily merging with his magic power and being ready to use right away. It didn't advance his cultivation, nor could it, but it meant that during battle, Li Ling would be able to recover spent magic power faster than his opponent.
Li Ling fell in love with the spear, but that wasn't all. The moment his soul connected, Li Ling felt an extreme drain on his mental power that flowed into the spear, filling it up in some way that he couldn't perceive. When the drain cut off, he felt something simmering within the spear's form that began to boil upwards, up until it erupted.
A tiny blood man the size of his index finger appeared above the shaft with indistinct features that rapidly solidified to mimic Li Ling's. The moment he became complete, he opened his eyes and looked up to take in the sight of his master, Li Ling.
The next moment, the Artifact Spirit bowed with obeisance, greeting in a voice similar to Li Ling's own. "Greetings, Esteemed Master. I am the Artifact Spirit of this weapon, and I am here to serve any purpose you have for me."
Li Ling sized the tiny fellow up and smiled. "Sure, nice to meet you too. I'll name you after I get a full scope of your abilities, so why don't you share them with me?"
The Artifact Spirit nodded. "Right away. Firstly, as your natal artifact with a growth property, I am able to grow in power with you naturally, without hindering your breakthroughs nor pulling you down."
"Secondly, I have the ability of corrosion, able to degrade enemy items and weapons at the same rank as myself into scrap. I also have Penetration, which allows me to bypass most shields, armors, and even manifested energy barriers put up by your foes to block me."
"I can fight autonomously of you, enhance myself with your Spear Will to double my power, and can also make use of your spatial ability to launch sneak attacks through the void."
The Artifact Spirit became hesitant at this point, feeling that this was not enough features to make Li Ling satisfied, but the young man only tapped its head with a gentle smile on his face.
"Not bad, you're not bad at all. I can tell you have more than what you've said so far, but we'll take it that it's for me to find out in due time." Li Ling praised openly, leaving the Artifact Spirit shocked and touched at the same time.
Li Ling then placed his hand around him as he thought. "Now, what would be a good name for this weapon? Blood Drinking Spear was the official name of my last one, but since this is about recognition for a new weapon that would become my main for a long time, it has to be good."
After going through a few choices, his eyes lit up as he tilted his head down to the Artifact Spirit and addressed it directly. "Your name shall be the Asura Reaper. Since I mostly plan to use you in tandem with my body cultivation for the purpose of killing, this seems the most fitting."
The Artifact Spirit mumbled the name over and over again until it cupped its fists once more. "Indeed, the name Asura Reaper feels correct to me. Henceforth, I shall be Asura Reaper, the lance of my master that will plunder the life and blood of all living things!"
Its heroic declaration was sealed by a quake from the spear as potent blood energy was released for meters around them, causing the tall, lanky fellow to cover his face in shock. However, he wasn't given much time as Li Ling wrapped the spear up in the strange cloth that was previously used, the suppression runes on it having disappeared.
The cloth was previously pale gold in color, now having hints of blood red within that snugly fit the spear and contained it within, not letting its malevolent nature pollute the world. Li Ling collected it into his Void Space and felt satisfied with the purchase, nodding to the lanky fellow before taking a step and disappearing from that location.
This allowed the lanky fellow to breathe a sigh of relief, thankful that this monstrous fellow didn't find trouble with him. He continued to help with the packing up, hoping to leave this cursed place as fast as possible and head back to the sect.
As for Li Ling, he appeared at the outpost's teleportation zone, where a few Path Lords with glum expressions were managing it as part of their tasks, allowing various people to go through. The line here was not huge, as people had started leaving long before Li Ling managed to rescue Zhen Xueren.
Unfortunately, unlike his senior sister who was a genuine Void Refinement–tier cultivator that could break space to travel hundreds of thousands of miles, he was only a faker who could traverse up to a kilometer at a time. So Zhen Xueren traveled back to the sect on her own, which would only take her a few jumps.
But for Li Ling, he would need to use portals like always unless he wanted to spend up to a month or more just traveling.
When he appeared in the teleportation zone, all eyes fell on him. The Path Lords who witnessed the event in the final battle had their pupils contracted as their bodies trembled with a mixture of terror and awe, while the rest simply glanced at him with curiosity and a hint of solemnity.
Li Ling walked through the area, cutting through the line and went straight up to the teleportation array directly. Despite his rude and arrogant actions, none here dared stop him, only watching him go in silence as if a bunch of wolves seeing a giant tiger passing through.
"Where would you like to go?" the Path Lord in charge of the array asked cautiously, looking at Li Ling warily.
Li Ling had already decided where his next destination would be, so he didn't keep it to himself as he directly shared it with the fellow opposite him.
"Send me to the Qing Shan Sect's region." Li Ling revealed with a slight smile full of malevolence.
That's right, he was returning to where he had once fled from like a dog, aiming to raise his Slaughter Point value enough to raise all his cultivation methods and techniques to the maximum!
Since he needed to kill a lot to make up for the exorbitant costs of the One Line Chaos Art, it was time to extract some early revenge on the Qing Shan Sect, knowing that with a mixture of his Tai Xu Mysterious Method and his identity as a Six Paths Demon Sect disciple, he would be like a fish in water!
