In the dungeon owned by The Harvester, a weird scene was unfolding.
The Crimson Veil's members were standing in one particular corner of the dungeon, leaving the children under the care of Spider.
Anthropologist, Abomination and Ruined watched the sight in front of them, all with intrigued eyes behind their crimson masked faces.
Nihilia Ra Smith, descendant of The Divine Architect, had successfully forged both the mythic artifact of the Celestial and the Origin of Dain Warborn.
That event caused Dain's origin to mutate in a very unexpected way, and to have the tattoo of a golden griffin at the side of his chest, just where his heart rested.
At that moment his whole body was slowly recovering, thanks to the cornucopia of healing potions given by the Crimson members.
The flesh of his body was regenerating steadily, and his wounds were stitching like worms clustering together.
The blacksmith herself was kneeling beside Dain, her breathing ragged and her whole body bathed in sweat. Not only, her nose was spitting black blood.
Nihilia noticed the blood and wiped it out wordlessly. She slowly turned her head towards the watching crimson members, face pale,
"I… I have done it." She rasped, her voice pitifully weak, "I have forcefully forged the mystic artifact with the Origin of Dain. They are now one and the same."
She slowly tried to stagger up, but she was too weak. Her legs wobbled and she was about to fall when Abomination caught her.
"Careful, black dwarf." Abomination said with amusement but also with respect dancing in her voice.
What Nihilia had done was something she never thought possible. Forging people? Now that was interesting.
Added to that, she had saved the brother of her master.
She deserved her respect. She deserved their respect.
Nihilia could sense the shift in their attitude. Her heart eased considerably, hope of surviving this ordeal finally singing inside her chest.
Still, she needed to ask.
"Will you…" she began, hesitating a little, "Will you now help me?"
Anthropologist, meanwhile, was still looking at Dain, "Will there be any side effects?" He asked.
Nihilia nodded weakly, "There could be. But that's the best I can do. He had inside of him the artifact of the Celestial. The Fairy might rebel, and the Asterion would not let him go."
Anthropologist smiled faintly, "I have guessed that much. Well, we did our best, didn't we?" He murmured, then looked at Nihilia herself,
"What price did you pay for this?" He asked.
Anthropologist knew better than anyone that these types of power always came with a steep price. Especially in the hands of a mortal.
His belief was confirmed when the nose of Nihilia began to bleed once more. But the blacksmith only shook her head, "It doesn't matter." She said, this time with more strength, "Will you help me?" She asked again.
She didn't feel Mahina using her authority over her anymore. Either the Empress has her hands full with something or she was dead.
Smith would have known if that monster died, so that only left the first option. Meaning, she needed to act now.
Anthropologist nodded at her question, "Of course we will." He whispered, then all of them snapped their heads to one direction.
There, Vaela could be seen on the grassy floor, unconscious.
"We will help you once this sleeping beauty wakes up." Anthropologist added, before going beside Vaela and sitting down on a rocky chair.
"Do you even know why she is unconscious?" Abomination asked, joining him while helping the blacksmith walk.
"I wonder." Anthropologist whispered, "Do I?"
Ruined growled at Anthropologist, "Annoying."
The rocky guy only laughed at his face.
Abomination chirped in, helping her fellow non-human friend, telling Ruined that he was the annoying and boring.
Ruined spared her a glare before requesting a duel for slandering his honor. Abomination ignored him while laughing with Anthropologist.
The Knight of Death almost attacked.
Almost.
Meanwhile, Vaela was facing a completely confusing situation inside her mind.
She found herself in a space made of stars, of all kinds of stars. But the most dazzling one was a crimson star that was slowly descending from the sky, taking the shape of a woman.
She stood there, frowning her beautiful neon-blue eyes, watching the woman standing in front of her.
"Oh!" Aurora exclaimed in wonder, looking at Vaela from up to down,
"Is it you?" She asked, then suddenly appeared in front of Vaela, watching her face more closely.
Vaela's heart skipped a beat, she wobbled back, "W-Who are you?" She inquired, her voice cold but hesitant.
Somehow, she didn't feel any ill intentions coming from the woman. Instead, Vaela found herself feeling oddly at ease with her.
That made her even more apprehensive.
Aurora, meanwhile, was smiling, "I don't have the time to explain everything to you, Vaela."
"You just have to know one little thing about me and why I am here." She raised her finger,
"I am Aurora Starborn, The Last Star." She began, "And you are my reincarnation, Vaela Cerveau. Solaris couldn't bear my sacrifice for his path. He folded, making me able to infect his Mind Origin, the weakest of his origins."
"The same Origin he gave to his lover, which helped me reincarnate. Though, with nothing of my memories." Aurora couldn't help but smile, "Isn't life curious, Vaela?"
But Vaela was not able to answer. She was transfixed by the amount of information she was suddenly receiving.
Somehow, she could feel that Aurora was not lying. She was telling the truth.
But then…
'I… I am her reincarnation? How…?'
Aurora's lips curled upward at her bewildered face and she raised her head to the starry sky,
"Yes, indeed you are my reincarnation. And my purpose here is only to tell you who you are and get rid of that woman's influence before it's too late."
"Who am I? And what woman?" Vaela asked back, her voice shaking in sudden trepidation.
"I said you are me. But in some ways, you are different from me." Aurora said as she approached Vaela and stood inches away from her.
"You are no longer The Last Star. You are no longer a descendant of the Starborn, nor the cousin of The Asterion. You are now Vaela Crimson, and your bloodline will be stripped away from you because she will manipulate you soon enough once she is back."
She paused, then…
"You will obtain your own bloodline and Origin. One born from me and my dear, who made me a myth in the minds of many."
Vaela's heart began to beat loudly, and for some reason she had the urge to cry. But she suppressed it.
Aurora's body was slowly disappearing, showing that she didn't have much time here anymore.
She raised her finger and placed it on Vaela's forehead.
"Tell him." She said, looking at Vaela, "Tell him your feelings. Tell him that you — no, we — love him. And kiss him, for I didn't have the opportunity to do so."
"I will give you all of my memories, and with that all of my feelings for Kaden."
She grinned next,
"Will you be able to bear the weight of my love and your own love together? It will be very heavy."
Vaela mirrored her grin,
"If I cannot," she murmured, "then no one can in both worlds."
Aurora laughed, "Then take all of it. And…"
Aurora's body slowly disappeared, leaving behind one crimson star.
"…good job for not folding, you eyes would be healed. And ah, yes, you linked your death with my dear's own death? Hahahah, that's perfect!"
"Don't let him die alone, for he already shoulders enough burden alone."
Then Aurora's voice disappeared completely.
Next, the crimson star slowly entered Vaela's body, who was now crying, prompting instantly a series of modifications inside her.
Her bloodline was being changed, and with that her hair and eyes.
Her Origin was modified and became: Crimson Star of Devotion, a mythic-rank Origin born only to aid one being.
It was a power created from the immense devotion and love Aurora felt for Kaden, and her desire to be his eyes.
Vaela also inherited the memories, the painting skills, and the feelings of Aurora.
Thus…
Vaela Aurora Crimson was born.
Outside, the crimson members watched as Vaela's body began to be bathed in crimson luster, followed by her changing appearance.
They watched in awe, before suddenly,
"Call The Harvester." Anthropologist said, "I believe he is now out of his mission."
"Call him and tell him…"
Anthropologist's eyes shone with a bright brown light,
"…we already have his loved one. He can go wild."
Abomination and Ruined grinned devilishly.
Smith trembled.
…
Meanwhile, while all of this was happening, Kaden Warborn, a grandmaster at the age of fifteen years old, was standing in front of two beings.
His clothes were still the same, exactly as they were before being imprisoned in the Madhouse. Yet that was the only thing that didn't change on him.
His aura, his presence, his very being was altered.
He was no longer the same boy the Empress used for her own sake.
And that was why, when he rested his crimson stary eyes on both the Emperor and the Empress of the Celestial Empire, they immediately felt the difference.
"Now that's interesting." Luminary said, dusting off some ice on his clothes, "What did you do, Mahina?"
Mahina regained her normal appearance, her burning wounds healing rapidly, "I would be lying if I said I know what I did."
She smiled thinly.
Just at that time, the door of the hidden realm burst open, revealing Sora with anxiety painting her face, and behind her Sirius smiling freely with his hands in his pockets.
He kicked Sora from behind, making her fall face-first onto the scorched ground.
"Move out of the way, sister," Sirius said, "I am trying to meet a good friend of mine and deliver some good news." He snickered at Sora and joined his parents, standing beside his mother.
Sora cursed her brother and stood up, then walked toward her parents. Her eyes were fixed on Kaden, her heart skipping a beat at his stary eyes.
'Did he become more handsome?' she thought in fear.
Kaden had become obscenely handsome.
Soon, Sora positioned herself beside her father.
The whole Asterion family was now facing Kaden Warborn.
At this, Kaden spared them a humorless smile, "How curious." He intoned, closing his arms on his chest,
"Doesn't this situation sound familiar?"
