Divine Awakening: My Game Drops Increase Infinitely

Chapter 52 : Demon Army

"How are we supposed to fight these things?"

"Stop the invasion? Ha! Even the weakest one here could one-shot me!"

"What the hell even is a demon race?"

"I can't believe this…"

"We're done for."

"Level 14 demon? I barely survived against a level 8 tiger monster!"

"I knew I shouldn't have logged in today. I just knew it!"

The panic spread like wildfire.

Players stumbled backward, their voices rising in dreadful screams.

Weapons rattled nervously in shaking hands.

Was it their fault for reacting this way?

No.

Anyone would break down when faced with such monsters.

These were not the usual wolves, tigers, or wild boars they had been farming for exp.

No, the things that descended from the sky were built different—superior, overwhelming, and terrifyingly strong.

Compared to the ordinary mobs they were used to killing, these demons were like bosses, each one radiating killing intent that suffocated the air.

And then—

The final tear in the sky ripped open.

From it emerged a figure unlike the rest.

This demon had the face of an ox, rigid features that looked as if carved from stone, and a golden nose ring glinting in the darkness.

Its skin was a deep, earthy brown, stretched over muscles thicker than tree trunks.

Two spiraling horns jutted from its head, curling slightly inward before thrusting outward like spears.

Its chest was strapped with thin plated armor, more for intimidation than protection.

In its hand, it carried a massive glaive—an oversized weapon suited perfectly for its monstrous build.

The blade of the weapon gleamed dangerously, as if yearning for flesh to tear.

However, the demon did not attack immediately.

Instead, it scanned the players below, its eyes glowing with a cold hunger.

Seconds stretched into minutes.

The players could barely breathe under its gaze.

Finally, the ox demon raised its weapon and pointed it downward.

"Go," it commanded.

Its voice was deep, calm, and solid, like an executioner pronouncing judgment.

Instantly, the demonic army obeyed, descending like vultures.

The players' hearts sank.

They had no choice now but to fight.

******

*Boom*

The ground shook violently as the demons landed, small craters forming under their weight.

Their bodies radiated raw strength, and their devilish giggles widened into sinister grins at the sight of the panicked prey before them.

*Swoosh*

The horde charged.

Weapons, claws, and fangs clashed against desperate players.

*Clank* "Clank*

Steel rang against steel, sparks flying.

Spells collided in midair.

Fireballs exploded against corrupted blasts of demonic energy, but in most clashes, it was the demons who came out on top.

*Bam*

A demon swung its clawed foot into a female player, sending her flying several meters before she crashed into the side of a building.

-54 HP

-62 HP

-27 HP

-45 HP

Damage notifications filled the players' vision in chaotic bursts, bleeding red across their screens.

"Tch! Th-they're… too strong!" one player gritted his teeth, barely managing to knock a grotesque demon off balance.

He seized the moment and barked an order to his allies.

"Now! Burn that devil down!"

"Fire Spell: Fireball!"

"Fire Spell: Fireball!"

The mages answered instantly, unleashing a barrage of flaming spheres.

Dozens of fireballs slammed into the demon, engulfing it.

Its screeches echoed before its body finally disintegrated into ashes.

"We-We… did it!"

Cheers erupted from the exhausted group.

Relief washed over them.

But they let their guard down.

*Shing*

A glint of silver blitzed passed, too fast for them to react.

Another demon lunged, its metallic claws piercing clean through the chest of the warrior who had bought them time.

[TheAvatar]

-46 HP

"Arghh!" TheAvatar coughed, taking damage as he struggled to pull away.

The claws twisted deeper.

-46 HP

The demon grinned cruelly, then ripped its claws apart, tearing the man in two.

[TheAvatar : Dead]

The mages froze.

Their strongest fighter had been slaughtered like livestock.

Their hands trembled as they raised their staff, but fear paralyzed them.

The demon turned, cackling.

"Hihihi…"

Its claws glistened as it dashed forward.

*Shing*

The last thing the mages saw was darkness.

Their heads rolled across the dirt seconds later.

******

The battlefield descended further into chaos.

Everywhere, screams of agony mixed with the deafening sounds of battle.

Notifications of deaths blinked faster than anyone could count.

The players were losing ground fast.

Then—

*Shing*

A blur sliced through a demon's body, severing it cleanly in half.

*Swoosh*

Another fell.

Then another.

The sudden momentum shift caught players off guard.

They turned to see three figures emerging confidently through the crowd, their armor gleaming with insignia.

A dragon's head in the side view and over it were three claw marks.

It was the Dragon Claw guild.

The members fought in tight formations, their teamwork honed.

Their levels weren't extraordinary, mostly 7 to 9, but their coordination made them look like veterans compared to the scattered, panicked masses.

"Who are these guys?" a player asked, bewildered.

"I dunno, but they're strong… and most importantly, they're on our side."

*Clank*

Dragon Claw pushed forward, targeting weaker demons first, cleaning up where others faltered.

Their blows were sharp, efficient, leaving no wasted movement.

"Help the injured!"

From behind, QueenBee raised her staff, commanding her healer unit.

Dozens of staff lit up in unison, beams of healing magic raining down over the battered frontlines.

The Dragon Claw guild quickly assumed command, barking orders and organizing defensive lines.

Their structure turned chaos into something resembling an army.

"Wait… Dragon Claw? Aren't they allied with Khan?"

"Yeah, that's them—the guys who cleared a dungeon in Hell Mode."

"No wonder the name sounded familiar…"

"I heard Khan's their leader. If they're here, then… we might actually stand a chance."

"I should join them too."

The morale rose!

With Dragon Claw spearheading the counter, the players rallied.

For the first time, it looked like the tide might turn.

Even as she healed, QueenBee's eyes darted across the battlefield, searching.

She spotted Hart slashing away at a lesser demon, barely holding his ground.

But Axton?

There was no sign of him.

Hart sighed. 'Where the hell is he at a time like this? Tch!'

She clenched her teeth, forcing more mana into her staff to keep her allies alive, but frustration burned in her chest.

'Why isn't he here?' she wondered.
