Everybody had the same question in their minds.
"Where is Khan?"
As they fought, they scanned the battlefield, clinging to a single hope.
With every life-or-death struggle they endured, they prayed.
Praying that at any second, a voice would cry out announcing that Khan had entered the battlefield.
The members of Dragon Claw had already pushed themselves beyond their limits.
They had fought tooth and nail against the demonic invasion, but their fire was slowly flickering out.
What had once burned bright with determination was now a faint light on the verge of dying.
Only Axton appearing right now could rekindle that fire.
Without him… they were all doomed.
While the battered players tried to restrategize, the demon commander stood at a distance, his massive body towering over the battlefield like an unmovable mountain.
He was impressed, albeit slightly.
'As usual, these pesky creatures are relentless,' the ox demon thought, his eyes sweeping across the battle-laden land.
'They do not know when to quit. Some of them even have potential. But… that didn't matter.'
The ox demon bared his teeth, throwing both arms backward.
The atmosphere shook in that instant as the air trembled.
*Woooohhh*
Demonic energy exploded from his body like a storm.
A suffocating black aura poured out, blanketing the battlefield.
Players clutched their throats, choking and coughing as if invisible hands were squeezing the life out of them.
Panic spread instantly as dozens collapsed under the oppressive force of the demon commander's skill — Demonic Aura.

The ox demon had unleashed his skill [Demonic Aura], and the battlefield was now nothing but his domain now
*Swoooosh*
He descended from the sky at terrifying speed.
Only a few seconds later…
*Boom*
His glaive struck the ground with a thunderous impact.
The earth split apart as massive cracks spiderwebbed across the land.
The shockwave flung players backward like ragdolls.
-42 HP!
-71 HP!
-34 HP!
-60 HP!
Red damage notifications filled the air in waves.
Players screamed as their health bars plummeted.
Some were maimed.
Others were killed instantly.
The ox demon had cut down a significant number of players with just a single attack.
It was clear he had no intention of wasting time here at all as there were countless villages waiting to be subdued in this conquest.
His gaze sharpened.
He scanned the survivors until he found them — the players with the Dragon Claw insignia.
They were the troublesome ones.
The ones who had actually dared to resist his underlings.
"Die first," he muttered, his guttural voice like thunder.
*Wwoooohhh!*
He spun his glaive above his head, the weapon slicing the air like a massive fan as it rotated speedily.
*Swwooosssh*
In a blur, he charged forward.
The Dragon Claw members barely had time to register the movement before a bright arc flashed across their vision.
*Splurt*
Blood sprayed.
Bodies dropped.
The players didn't even get the chance to scream before death claimed them.
Hopelessness spread across the battlefield.
The oppressive presence of the ox demon was unlike anything they had ever faced.
His very existence made the air heavy, as if every player were carrying boulders twice their size.
Their limbs shook, their breaths grew shallow, and their minds faltered.
It was suffocating.
It was despair.
Now, the idea of Axton's arrival wasn't their first thought anymore.
Survival was.
Could they even live long enough to see him arrive?
Doubts spread like wildfire, consuming everyone that still lived.
Even if Khan came, could he truly stand against this monster?
Could one man topple this demon commander?
As the ox demon prepared another devastating strike, something changed.
*Whooooshhh*
A gigantic shadow stretched across the battlefield, darkening the already dim atmosphere..
Heads turned upward.
Even the ox demon's gaze was drawn to the sky.
A massive dragon soared across the heavens.
On its back sat the long-awaited figure.
The rider.
The hero they prayed for.
Khan.
******
They saw him.
The fire slowly regained its sparkle.
"Khan is here!" someone shouted, their voice trembling.
"Thank goodness…" another whispered.
"Are we saved?"
Hope returned, but it was fragile, like glass on the verge of breaking.
Relief mixed with fear.
Joy, but with dread.
A few players let out bitter smiles.
They were grateful Axton had finally arrived, but the reality before them was cruel.
Could even he defeat an enemy of this calibre? A Grade 5 demon commander?
Cheers and warnings filled the air, but none of them reached Axton's ears.
He was far above, riding the wind with his dragon, his eyes fixed on the battlefield below.
Through the bond with his clone, Axton had already gathered intel before the clone dispersed.
Now he was seeing it all with his own eyes.
And among the chaos, one presence stood out.
The ox demon.
Their eyes locked.
The demon smiled first, smiling in arrogance.
Axton's face remained calm, devoid of expression.
'That must be the leader,' Axton thought, clenching his fist tightly.
The ox demon sneered back in its thought.
'So, this is him. The human that weakling feared. Hmph. Is this truly the strongest one here?'
Neither of them looked away.
The tension between them was palpable, an invisible thread stretched taut between the sky and earth, as if connecting the two of them.
Then—
*Ding*
A notification popped up in front of Axton.
He frowned. "What…?"
His eyes darted across the glowing panel, reading each line carefully.

Axton's breath almost ceased.
His eyes widened.
His heart began to race.
*Thump* *Thump*
'Finally!' he thought, his chest pounding with excitement.
This was it!
The chance he had been waiting for.
The game system had given him a golden opportunity, one he could not allow to slip away.
Even if it meant facing a demon commander head-on.
Even if it meant cutting down a monster that made every player tremble in despair.
This fight would not only decide the fate of the battlefield.
It could be the key to Axton's further rise.
It was like he had been brought to a new path to getting stronger.
And he was ready.
Ready to give it his all.
