Bai Lian was surprised at him asking her a question. She thought he didn't like talking much. "We did have some branches, but they got closed now. It was because we are a big clan from the Eastern Region, so we have maintained good ties with the Yin Yang Harmony Sect.

When conflict began to arise between the Yin Yang Harmony Sect and the Frozen Heart Sect, we were asked to leave."

Lin Feng nodded. "So you guys are deeply connected with the Yin Yang Harmony Sect?"

Bai Lian thought for a few breaths and shook her head. "I doubt that. Although my sister never tells me about important matters, she has never shown any kind of interest in supporting the Yin Yang Harmony Sect in conflicts."

"I see..." Lin Feng said. He didn't care much about their ties. No one could truly stay out of the conflict if it was going to involve all three regions.

Bai Lian felt more comfortable with Lin Feng talking with her, so she decided to ask something to curb her curiosity too. "Which region are you from, Brother Lin? South?"

She guessed it because he had conflict with the Crimson Flame Palace, so she thought he must be from the Southern Region.

Lin Feng, on the other hand, raised his eyebrows. "Why would you think I am from the South?" Did she think it because he said that the Crimson Flame Palace was his enemy...

"Brother Lin, you said to Zeng Rong that you consider the Crimson Flame Palace as your enemy, so...."

As Lin Feng had expected, she really thought that. He shook his head. "Well, I am not from the South. It's a bit complicated. Leave it." He wasn't going to tell too much about himself.

Bai Lian understood that this was all the information she could get from him, which was actually more than sufficient given the fact that he was trying to hide his identity, which any prominent cultivator wouldn't do unless they were in enemy territory.

As they flew for a few breaths, Bai Lian was thinking if she should ask about his constitution or not. It was rude to ask the full details of it, but she could still ask about the fact if it was a physical strength type physique.

Although she curbed her desire as she shouldn't annoy him too much. He might be friendly, but he was also very decisive. What if on a whim he decided to just kill her out of nuisance? It was better to consider the worst than regret later.

Lin Feng could feel her curious yet restrained gaze. He understood that she was still feeling a little afraid of him, which was quite normal actually.

Suddenly his eyes went inside the valley they were passing by, and he stopped.

Bai Lian wasn't paying much attention to the surroundings, so she just stopped because Lin Feng stopped. She followed his gaze and looked down.

There was a deep valley between two mountains right below them. Looking thoroughly, she didn't find anything interesting.

The valley was filled with some spirit herbs of grade 2 and 3, but it definitely wasn't enough reason for them to stop, as they definitely had passed many such places while flying.

"What happened, Brother Lin?"

Lin Feng frowned for a single breath as he had felt some kind of instinctual pull towards the valley. This wasn't common. "I will explore the valley for some time. If you want, you can come."

This was the first time he felt something like this. It was a very subtle and unique desire that pulled his attention towards the valley, and it came from his very soul.

In the truest sense, his soul hadn't awakened yet, but the soul was something which was always an inherent part of every living being. It defined you more than what your physical body could do.

There must be something in this valley which affected him on a spiritual level. He doubted it was anything absurd like the Eternal Dao Lotus, but it was definitely something which was useful for him.

He swooped down and entered the valley, and Bai Lian followed.

The valley wasn't very big as these two mountains were small too. In the narrow fissure, Lin Feng could see a few spirit herbs, but he ignored them and looked carefully around to see if anything got his attention.

The spirit consciousness was still paying attention to Lin Feng, and it was surprised when Lin Feng decided to visit the valley.

There was one thing in this valley which might not be special, but it was definitely very very rare. If Lin Feng was really able to touch it, he didn't mind giving it to him.

In the valley, Lin Feng frowned as he really wasn't able to discern anything special. He was still getting some feeling that there was something here which wasn't right.

Just as he thought of using his pure yang qi as a purifier to brighten up everything, the spirit consciousness appeared in front of them.

The bright orb changed its shape and became a silhouette of a man. "It's quite surprising to see you getting interested in this valley..."

Bai Lian was surprised seeing the spirit consciousness in silhouette form and listening to his words, so this valley really wasn't just a normal valley after all...

"So is there any illusion array here?" Lin Feng asked, because only a high level of illusion array could trick his eyes.

The spirit consciousness shook his head. "More like a hidden array to just hide a spirit herb. Come with me."

After saying that, the spirit consciousness landed in the valley and walked towards an empty location.

Lin Feng and Bai Lian followed. They stopped exactly in the middle of the empty area.

The spirit consciousness pointed at the area while deactivating the array. "I planted this spirit herb when I was young, but till now it hasn't shown anything special other than the fact that no one can actually touch it, at least now that it has grown up somewhat to grade 3."
