Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1059: 1056: Dying

The moment Corey saw that Pamela moved from her position at an extremely fast speed, his eyes sharpened and his body was ready to react for any possibility.

Subconsciously and because of the duties he had assigned to every single one of his Stars of Consciousness, countless protections in the forms of registered skills and unregistered skills subtly appeared around the void crystal around his neck.

No matter what, Anna was not leaving him.

The first and most important suspicion Corey had when he saw Pamela react strangely was that the Clown had found a way to control Pamela.

Unlike what Divine thought or some might think, he did not believe that he or Pamela were safe from the Clown.

The Clown was somebody with any means and was also an insane individual. Corey could not take any chances.

However, unlike what he expected, Pamela did not go after him but appeared before Jeremy and Rorik.

Corey was confused at first, but then a thought came to his mind in less than a microsecond, and then his eyes widened in realization and fear.

"Damn it!"

Corey cursed out loud, and then his Void Phoenix Heart released a powerful beat and a powerful pulse of void force as he teleported much faster than he had ever teleported.

Just as Pamela appeared behind Jeremy, he appeared beside Pamela at that exact moment.

His eyes were frighteningly cold as he unleashed a punch that was not meant to kill Pamela but was enough to push her far away and cause considerable damage to her.

Pamela's eyes widened when she saw this, and she reacted instantly. Defensive runes appeared in an instant in front of her, almost like they had always been there from the start.

Corey's deep violet and sky blue eyes remained frighteningly cold despite seeing this, but then, he noticed something odd.

From the corner of his eyes, he saw a fist-sized hole in Jeremy's stomach, and he also saw a large and familiar fist in Jeremy's stomach.

'What?'

Corey quickly and forcibly changed the direction of his attack at the last moment, and his fist nearly brushed Pamela's waist.

There was a backlash doing this, but it was nothing to Corey as Dream Healing quickly got into effect.

Boom!

Bang!

Despite changing the direction of his attack, the air boomed and rippled due to the force of his attack.

The ground behind Pamela developed cracks, and the wind became turbulent because of his fist.

A heavy silence filled the atmosphere for three seconds, and Pamela was breathing heavily as she imagined if Corey's fist had hit her.

Though it would not have killed her, it would have hurt like mad, and with the injuries she sustained from fighting thousands of powerful undeads... It would lead to more internal injuries and worsen her current injuries.

"Damn it, Corey! What do you think you're doing?!" She asked with a furious expression, but Corey ignored her.

Instead, he quickly turned toward Jeremy and Rorik with an anxious expression, hoping he had seen wrong.

'Please. Tell me I saw wrong. Tell me I saw wrong.'

Unfortunately, what Corey hoped for did not come to pass.

Beside both him and Pamela, Jeremy stumbled to the back as Rorik removed his fist from Jeremy's stomach.

As Jeremy stumbled, Rorik swung his fist once again at Jeremy's head, intending to shatter his head and kill him in one blow.

The expressions of Corey and Pamela drastically changed when they saw this, and they both unleashed their quickest attacks on Rorik.

Corey shot out a bolt of black tribulation lightning, and Pamela forced the runes around Rorik to explode.

Pamela's attack was instant, and it was what stopped Rorik from being able to kill Jeremy in one blow.

Rorik took several steps back while crossing his arms in front of him in a defensive position, and as he stumbled, Corey's tribulation lightning slammed into Rorik, sending him further back once again.

"Damn it." Rorik cursed as he lowered his arms.

His arms were burnt and badly injured, and his body also had burns and blood, causing him to click his tongue in pain and annoyance.

He looked at Jeremy, and he clicked his tongue in annoyance once again.

"Damn it. He's not dead yet. I guess I should not have bothered with being subtle about it. I didn't want anybody to know that I was the one that killed him since it'll blow my cover, but it is what it is."

As Rorik spoke, his voice began to change into the familiar voice of the Clown. His brown eyes also became blood red, and the expressions of Corey and Pamela changed when they saw this.

"Just as I feared." Pamela gritted her teeth in anger, but the anger was not directed at the Clown but herself and also at Corey.

Rorik, no, the Clown looked at Pamela with a slight tilt of his head.

"You knew? How?" He asked, and Pamela clicked her tongue.

"The runes told me you bastard, but I didn't listen to them clearly because I was focused on healing myself. When I heard what they were saying clearly, it was too late. You were already too close to Jeremy and Corey over here stopped me just as I was about to pull Jeremy away from you."

Pamela looked at Corey with a scowl, but Corey's attention was completely on Jeremy.

He was using Dream Healing in full force and without consideration of the cost.

Nothing else mattered to him but Jeremy's life. He could not die no matter what.

No matter what!

If he did, he and everybody else would have to go through another cycle where the Clown would be more prepared for them and also for Divine's appearance.

And worst of all, Anna would not be safe with him, and the Clown can decide to kill her using the blood puppets he had in the shell world.

He could not allow Anna to die anymore.

Absolutely not!

"Don't you dare, you bastard." Corey growled with an anxious and also frustrated expression, however, healing Jeremy was more difficult than it was meant to be, and Jeremy was dying even when he used Dream Healing in full effect.
