Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1058: 1055: Vanished

As Corey had these thoughts on the Book of Death, he decided to open the next page.

On the second page were far less writings. It did not take up as much space as the first page.

Corey went through the page, and he was not surprised when the second page also contained a powerful ability.

It was not as dangerous as the first page, but it was an ability that many would want.

The second ability was this, with every being the holder kills, the book keeps every soul and when the holder wants, the holder can use the stored souls to add a permanent boost to their stats, recovers their mana, and improves their physique.

However, the book must be balanced. If the holder goes too long without feeding the booo

**2. Soul Ledger**

The book keeps a tally of every soul its owner kills. Each soul adds a temporary boost: strength, mana recovery, sharper senses, etc. But the ledger must be balanced. If the owner goes too long without feeding the book, it drains them instead.

That was everything about the skill.

'It might not seem like much, but I have a feeling there might be more to it than it says.'

Corey thought, and then he opened the third page.

The third page also had little writings on it, and when Corey saw it, his eyes flashed with a calculating glint.

The third ability of the Book of Death had no name, only a definition.

Everytime a person's name was written in the book, their memories, comprehension, and secrets would be available for the holder to see.

Corey went through the ability a few times, and then he opened the fourth page, but then he noticed something.

He had to exert a lot more strength when opening the page. It was similar to an average mortal man trying to turn over a block.

Corey's expression changed slightly when this happened, and he had a feeling that the next page would be far more difficult for him to open, and this was when he was still fused with the world tree.

It was like the Book of Death was testing his qualifications its pages.

When Corey finally opened the fourth page, what he saw was far more different than what was on the previous pages.

On the fourth page was a runic circle. An extremely black and ominous circle that stung Corey's eyes and even made his Crown of Lifeless Sovereign to tremble.

A great amount of information flooded his mind as he stared at the runic circle, and he had to squint his eyes while frowning in pain.

Corey closed his eyes and held the space between his brows as he went through the information of the fourth page.

The runic circle was actually a summoning formation, where the holder would be able to summon a dead being of a destroyed world as a spectral soldier with all their former strength.

The spectral soldier would be bound temporarily, and the greater the difference in power and authority between the dead and the holder, the greater the backlash on the holder.

When Corey went through this information, his eyes flickered with an intense calculating glint.

As tempting as this fourth ability was, the warning of the backlash was something he could not ignore.

Maybe if he was an average human with average talents, he might choose to ignore the warning and still find the opportunity to use the summoning ability.

However, with how unique he was and with the several talents he had, he had a feeling that he would summon something that was way out of his league.

In fact, he would not be surprised if he summoned a god.

If he did, he could not imagine just how unfathomable the backlash would be.

'My instincts are warning me about this fourth page. It has been warning me about the book for a very long time... The book is dangerous... Even to me who got it as a reward.'

Corey exhaled softly as he observed the runic formation of the Book of Death for a few more seconds, and then he looked away.

Through Record, he had permanently stored the formation in his mind. Fortunately for him, it was not like the rune of the void which nearly destroyed his mind.

Corey then held the fifth page and tried to open it, but he felt like he was lifting a massive boulder as a mortal human.

He could not do it.

The more he tried, the stronger the force that acted against him.

He had a feeling that if he continued, the force would keep on getting stronger and stronger until it reached a point where he caused him immense damage.

Because of that, he decided to let go of the page.

"It seems I'm not strong enough or qualified enough to open the fifth page. I wonder how many pages are left."

Corey looked at the Book of Death in curiosity, and then he sent it into his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

Now that he knew how important and dangerous the Book of Death was, he was not going to be careless with it.

He looked at the grey void crystal on his neck and touched it with a soft look.

"I don't know what happened to you, but I promise you that I'll find a way to help you and bring you back, Anna."

Corey could see Tessa slumbering with a peaceful expression in the void crystal.

No matter what, he was not going to lose her again.

Corey exhaled softly, and then he teleported to Divine once again.

Rosa looked at him with a baffled expression.

"So? What did you find out? Do you know why the Clown wants the book?"

Corey nodded, and was about to answer but he stopped and looked at Pamela with a slight frown.

She had been quiet for a long time as she recuperated from the injuries and exhaustion she felt, but her could feel the mana around her getting violent.

"Pamela?" He called out with a frown, but he received no response.

A few seconds later, eyes snapped open and she vanished.
