Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1068: 1065: What Next?

[Lifeless Hourglass- Can freeze a person's death moment for up to three hours, suspending them between life and death. It has a hidden function.]

----

The Lifeless Hourglass was an artifact with immeasurable value.

Once somebody looked at the description of the Lifeless Hourglass, they would realize just how previous the artifact was.

The ability to suspend somebody who is dying, between life and death for three hours, was extremely precious and useful for far far far too many things.

Its uses were not only limited to saving lives, but for far other things which Corey thought of.

After using it to save Jeremy and prevent him from dying, the Lifeless Hourglass became one of Corey's most important artifacts, but he had to sacrifice it to save another life.

In the description of the Lifeless Hourglass, it was said that it possessed a hidden function, and Corey had no idea what this hidden function was... until he used the Lifeless Hourglass.

His Stars of Consciousness analyzed and broke down the Lifeless Hourglass into different parts in a simulation, and they were able to figure out the hidden function.

And to Corey's slight surprise, the hidden function was...

'It can revive somebody who has been dead for not more than an hour as long as the Lifeless Hourglass is sacrificed. Pamela is not dead, but she's dying. So, I believe that it would most likely save her from dying.'

'It's a big gamble since it's not certain that sacrificing the Lifeless Hourglass would save Pamela. If it doesn't, then I would suffer two big losses.'

Corey had these thoughts before he crushed the Lifeless Hourglass and used it on Pamela. Fortunately for him and Pamela, it worked, and he could see Pamela's soul being restored.

'Good. Now I just hope you're able to do what I need you to do for me.'

Choosing to sacrifice the Lifeless Hourglass was not out of the goodness of his heart, but because he needed Pamela for something very important in the near future.

Without Pamela, the chances of him accomplishing what he wanted to do would be close to nil.

'I guess it's time I start my plans and take another step on the path of power. I was able to find Anna and there's no other reason why I should delay my advancement.'

'I previously delayed it because Nina told me that if I advance the way I told her, I would most likely be forced to leave the planet. And I would not be able to live with myself if that happens and I had not saved Anna.'

Corey fiddled with the grey crystal on his neck, and a few moments later, the healing of Pamela's soul stopped.

Pamela's eyes fluttered open, and then she looked at the sky with a dazed expression.

"I'm alive... right?"

"Yeah, you are." Divine stretched out his hand at her, and Pamela looked at it for a moment before grabbing it and sitting in a cross-legged position.

"I was almost saying my last prayers. Fortunately it didn't come to that."

Divine, Rosa, and Jeremy chuckled when they heard that.

"And who were you praying to? Which god?" Divine asked with a mocking smile, and Pamela scoffed.

"I was going to pray to the strongest being in existence. I don't know if that's a god."

'Well, that's probably the Supreme Ancestor or the Paragon Ancestor... Probably.'

Pamela looked at Corey, bringing him out of his thoughts.

"What?" He asked with raised brows.

"Thank you." She lowered her head slightly. "Without you, I would have died."

Corey shrugged nonchalantly. "You should thank the runes that told you I could save you. I didn't know I could, but when you asked me if I could and I put two and two together, I found a way..."

"... I guess there's a reason why the Clown deems you so dangerous. The ability to talk to runes is extremely dangerous since everything is made out of runes and you can't hide from runes... The runes know it all."

Pamela smiled at Corey when she heard his words. "I guess you're right... So, what do you need me to do for you? I want to pay back this debt as quickly as possible since I don't like the feeling of owing somebody."

Corey calmly stood, and then he nonchalantly waved his hand.

"I'll tell you later. Just don't do something that'll make you unavailable for a long time since I'll probably need you after a month at most."

Pamela tilted her head. "That's not too far then. What do you actually need me to do?"

"Let's just say... I want to become a Tier 4 and at the same time, I don't want to become a Tier 4." Corey said cryptically.

"Huh?"

And as expected, Pamela and the others were confused.

"Don't think too much about it. When it's time for me to need your help, I'll tell you what I need to do." Corey said while fiddling with the grey crystal on his neck.

Pamela narrowed her eyes slightly at Corey. "Will it be dangerous?"

Corey smiled at her. "Most definitely."

Pamela's expression eased slightly. "You don't plan on killing me, do you?"

Corey looked at with her raised brows. "Do I have a grudge against you?"

"Doesn't mean you still won't have plans to kill me. Mass murderers kill those they don't have a grudge with." Pamela replied with a raise of her brows, and Corey chuckled.

"True. Anyway, I don't plan on killing you. You don't have to worry about that."

Pamela nodded her head, and then everywhere became silent for a moment before Jeremy spoke.

"So... What next? The Clown is not our problem for now, but the Chained Firmament and many of the Immortal beasts are most likely still alive. What do we do now?"

"Well, I'm going to have a look at the Immortal beasts and either kill them for their materials or capture them for something else." Divine said while shrugging his shoulders, and then he looked at Rosa.

"What about you, Rosa?"

Rosa looked at Corey, and then she replied without looking at Divine.

"I'll stay with Corey."

Divine gave a wry smile. "I guessed as much."

Although Rosa had followed him for years and gone through a lot with him, her heart was set on Corey and the reason she went through all that she did was so that she could stand side by side with him.

He was tempted to persuade her, but he knew it would not work, so he looked at Pamela.

"What about you? Want to follow me to kill some Immortal Beasts and get their soul crystals?" Divine asked with a smile, but Pamela shook her head.

"Nahh. I gained some benefits from the hourglass Corey shattered on me, I want to go through them since I feel like they'll be extremely useful to me."

Divine released a soft sigh of regret, and then he looked at Jeremy.

"And what about you? What do you plan on doing?"

He did not bother asking if Jeremy wanted to follow him since Jeremy would be more of a burden than help.

Jeremy looked at his companions who were still asleep, and then he looked at Rorik's gauntlets in his hands.

"I'll need to wake my companions, tell them about Rorik, and then give Rorik a proper burial."

Divine nodded, and then he looked at Corey.

"And what about you, Corey? What do you plan on doing?"

"Talking to my sister." Corey answered simply, and then he teleported far away from them.

Divine's lips twitched when he saw this. "Still as rude as ever."

"I'm leaving." Rosa said, and without giving Divine the opportunity to respond, she left immediately.

Divine's lips twitched repeatedly once again, and then he clicked his tongue.

"Fairs."
