Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1077: 1074: Returning The World Tree

"What are we going to do from now on?"

When Anna asked this question, Corey stared at the blue sky with a slightly lost expression. His Stars of Consciousness were still working and he already numerous answers to Anna's question, but his main consciousness thought of nothing and just appreciated the serene and calm blue sky he had created.

A few minutes went by, and Anna called him out.

"Brother?"

Corey blinked, and then he slowly shifted his gaze to Anna. He remained silent for a few seconds, and then he spoke.

"Well, first of all, I'll have to return the world tree. I've fused with it for far too long."

Corey looked in the distance, and he could see Queen Nerith and Thalos sitting on a pile of rubbles while trying to discuss the future of what little was left of their people, and the preparations for the burial of the Syrelle and Orynthia.

Although it looked like they were alright and no longer affected by the death of Syrelle, Orynthia, and their people... The mother and son could not hide the pain and sadness in their expressions and tone as they spoke.

Through his Ears of Omniscience, he even overheard Thalor asking his mother what they would do without the world tree.

His mother merely shook her head, and told him that he could only hope that Corey would release the fusion with the world tree willingly.

Thalos argued and suggested that they coerced or thought of a way to force him to release the world tree since the world tree was the core of their race.

Without it, their race would eventually die.

Queen Nerith disagreed with Thalos on the suggestion of force, and at the moment, there was a slight disagreement between the duo.

Corey was not surprised by Thalos' words and insistence on them getting back the world tree.

The world tree was actually extremely important to the Silver Elves for several reasons, and Corey was not planning on going deep into those reasons.

For him, his business with the Silver Elves was over because he had gotten what he wanted.

Knowledge on how to craft growth weapons and also countless blueprints of countless artifacts.

The world tree was actually the library of the Silver Elves, and the reason why the Queen had refused to allow him to go through their library was because she was afraid that he would find a way to transmit their knowledge to his non-existent background.

Corey did not know that this was the reason, but he didn't care about such a thing.

What he cared about was that the well of knowledge that was contained in the world tree was unfathomably deep.

It was millions of years worth of knowledge.

Corey's Stars of Consciousness had been going through every single bit of knowledge from the moment they dealt with the Clown, and it was the main reason he had not cancelled his fusion with the world tree.

At first, going through the knowledge stored in the world tree was overwhelming even for him, but the more knowledge he went through, the more he knew and the more he quickly grasped the knowledge the world tree contained.

'Whenever a Silver Elf die, they get buried in the roots of the world tree. When this happens, the Silver Elves perform a ritual and offer the soul of the dead Silver Elf to the world tree, and every knowledge the Silver Elf possessed is stored in the world tree.'

'The Silver Elves store all the knowledge they gain in the world tree, and this is what has preserved them for a long time.'

'And it's also why Thalos wants me to return the world tree. Without it, the Silver Elves would surely regress since they would lose millions of techniques and history their ancestors had built up.'

Corey paused in thought, and then his brows were furrowed slightly.

'But surprisingly, there was no mention of gods and godhood. The world tree does not have any record of the paths of power the Silver Elves took before the appearance of the Universal System... almost like it had been wiped out from existence.'

Sigh

Corey released a soft sigh, and then he slowly got up from the sofa.

'Anyway, I got what I needed. I can create a growth weapon, an Immortal Weapon, and... even a Semi-Divine weapon. The Semi-Divine weapon is meant for Tier 9s and it's one of the few things that's related to gods.'

'And I also got something extra from fusing with the world tree. Something I didn't really expect.'

"Corey?" Anna called out when she saw Corey stand in a spot with a slightly lost expression, and Corey looked at her with a smile.

"I'm fine. Let's go. It's time I return their god to them."

Anna raised her brows in slight confusion, but Corey did not bother explaining. He looked at Rosa who was sitting cross-legged in meditation.

"Hey. Come, we're leaving this place."

Rosa opened her eyes, and then she nodded. "Alright."

As Corey and Anna waited for Rosa, Anna asked another question.

"The last time we talked, I'm sure you have a lot of questions for Tessa. Do you plan on talking to her when I'm better?"

Corey nodded. "Definitely. I need her knowledge for what I plan on doing in the future."

"Hmm." Anna hummed, and then Rosa appeared before them.

Corey held both of their hands, and a second later, he vanished.

When Rosa and Anna saw where they were, they were taken aback.

"Is this where the world tree used to be?" Anna asked with slightly wide eyes as she looked at the extremely large and deep hole in front of them.

Even Rosa wondered what they were doing at the edge of the place the world tree used to be.

"Yes. This is it." Corey nodded his head, and then he grabbed the crown above his head and threw it into the hole.

When he did this, he also closed his eyes and willed for the fusion to be cancelled.

The moment he did this, the earth rumbled and a colossal beam of light shot out from the hole where he threw the crown into, and the colossal beam of silver light tore into the sky.
