The sudden appearance of the colossal beam of silver light shocked everybody.
Queen Nerith, Thalos, Pamela, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Caesar, and Mathias.
Even Rosa and Anna who were extremely close to the colossal beam of silver light were shocked by the sudden appearance of the colossal beam of silver light.
"What the hell?"
Anna exclaimed while nearly stumbling due to the earthquake that was occurring across the entire realm.
She quickly stabilized herself and focused on the colossal beam of silver light. A second later, her jaws dropped to the ground when massive roots began shooting out from the hole.
These roots pierced the ground and caused more earthquakes, and a few seconds later, the stem of the world tree began to take shape.
As the stem of the world tree began to take shape, the colossal beam of silver light slowly dissipated.
Eventually, the massive crown of the world tree took shape as the last bit of the light vanished.
Silver lightning flashed across the branches of the world tree for a moment, and to Corey's slight surprise, he saw a faint flash of familiar black lightning.
'My tribulation lightning?'
Corey was slightly surprised by this, but he didn't think much of it. Since he already benefited a lot from the world tree, he was not surprised that the world tree also benefitted from fusing with him.
He was extremely unique, and his mind was also extremely unique to the point that he even wondered if it was even more unique than his Paragon body.
The world tree could also benefit from him, but it was just that he didn't expect the world tree to obtain his tribulation lightning.
'Well, I have an affinity to lightning. My tribulation lightning is also unique, and the world tree also has a high affinity for lightning. Since my tribulation lightning is unique, I guess it's not so surprising that she benefitted from it.'
As Corey had this thought, the silver lightning on the crown of the world tree increased in intensity.
Streaks of black tribulation lightning also appeared from time to time, and the world tree was back in its full glory.
And its aura... was even more solid compared to before.
"You returned her back to us."
Corey looked to his right, and he saw Queen Nerith and Thalos looking at him with surprised expressions.
Corey looked back at the world tree. "I was always going to return it to you. It's yours after all."
Queen Nerith's expression became even more complicated. "I thought you were not going to undo the fusion because of the benefits."
Corey chuckled softly and briefly with a smile. "Fusing with the world tree has its pros and cons. In the eyes of many, the pros outweighs the cons, and many would refuse to undo the fusion with the world tree. But for me, the cons are not worth it."
One of the cons of fusing with the world tree was that the path of power one could take was fixed and limited.
Sure, one would have reserves of mana that was on par with the mana of a world. Their physical stats would also increase, and they would have extremely high affinity with the elements the world tree also had affinities for.
There was also regeneration, and the ability to teleport easily to any part of the world where the world tree was born. One's lifespan would also increase drastically while they're fused with the world tree.
There were so many other benefits, and with all of these immense benefits, many would ignore the cons.
But not Corey.
"The longer one remains fused with the world tree, the more difficult it'll be for them to take another path of power that's different from the path of the world tree. They'll also find it extremely difficult to advance to a higher Tier than the world tree's. These cons far outweigh the pros for me."
Queen Nerith shifted her gaze to the world tree. Some seconds of silence passed, and Jeremy and the others appeared not too long after due to the sudden appearance of the world tree.
Only Pamela remained where she was in her meditative state.
"Did you know that it's only a Silver Elf with the blood of royalty flowing through their veins that can actually obtain the most benefits from her, and also negate many of the cons." Queen Nerith asked without taking her gaze off from the world tree.
Corey nodded while he also kept his eyes on the world tree.
"I know. It's only those that are chosen by a world tree that would obtain the most benefit from fusing with it. If there was a world tree of New Earth, then humans or maybe animals would benefit from the world tree the most. And if it's humans, it would be a particular lineage of humans that would benefit more compared to other humans."
Queen Nerith looked at Corey with slight surprise and worry. "Did... Did you go through our knowledge and history? I don't believe such knowledge is known to everybody."
Corey nodded. "Yes I did."
Queen Nerith's expression became complicated, and then she released a soft sigh.
"I guess it's to be expected. But please, I just hope that the people backing you don't use our knowledge against us in any way or form... We've already gone through a lot and we'll have to go through a long period of recovery once again."
Corey looked at her with a slightly baffled expression, and although he could have cleared up the misunderstanding, he chose not to.
"You don't have to worry about that."
Queen Nerith smiled wryly. "I have no choice but to believe your words."
Corey said nothing, and then he waved his hand to the side.
A swirling void portal appeared beside him, surprising Queen Nerith and the rest.
"I'm bringing back your daughter, Ecles. Just in case you've forgotten about her."
Queen Nerith's eyes widened slightly, and the moment Ecles, Kiefer, Selene, and Willow stepped out of the portal, tears of joy and relief poured out of Queen Nerith's eyes like a dam.
She vanished and then reappeared in front of Ecles, hugging her tightly.
"Mother?" Ecles was stunned and confused as to her mother's reaction, but she didn't think too much of it.
She just assumed her mother missed her so much.
Instead, her child like eyes were fixed on the world tree in amazement.
"Wow. So beautiful."
Step
Corey approached the mother and daughter.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your reunion, but I didn't bring back Ecles just so that you can have her back."
Corey opened his right hand, and a red butterfly appeared above his palm.
The moment Ecles saw the butterfly, her eyes widened in recognition.
"Sweetie!"
