Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1157: 1154: Then We'll Fall In Love

"Until I was enlightened to two methods... Survival by battle and survival by procreation."

Pamela went on to explain what she meant by her words, and Corey then understood why she wanted to have his child.

According to Pamela, the universe is constantly correcting mistakes, weak designs, inefficient structures, and stagnant bloodlines.

The universe wanted everything in it to evolve, especially the living beings. And if there was any design of it that was inefficienct or weak, it would attempt to correct it.

For the living beings, there was a very proven and known method one could evolve aside from using the mana of the universe.

Survival

And there were two methods one could use to survive.

Survive by battle

Or

Survive by procreation

If an individual was placed in an environment that could not instantly kill but threatened his or her life, with time, the individual would adapt.

Or

His offsprings would adapt.

Through survival by battle, every fight refines the body. Every near-death experience forces the soul to rewrite itself. It forces their mana pathways thicken. Their Will sharpens, and their genes evolve.

According to Pamela, a peaceful race stagnates and a protected race eventually declines on the path of power.

But a hunted race always evolves. It could take an extremely long time- millions, billions, or even trillions of years depending on the innate potential of the race, but they would always evolve at some point as long as they are not killed.

"This is why ancient races were warlike. Not because they love violence... but because violence loved them."

These words Pamela said to him shook a part of him he could not even begin to describe.

He had no idea why she said these words, but they resonated with a deep part of him.

A part of him that briefly reminded him of his past life.

Undying Will

'This Will...'

Although Pamela was explaining to him why having his child would help her to evolve her race, she had no idea that she was also helping Corey.

He took wanted to evolve... No... Change his race into something greater.

And what if... Survival... was going to play a crucial role in what he planned on doing?

At first, Corey did not give a 100% focus to Pamela's words, but after those words, he gave her his total attention.

Pamela had used survival by battle in the past to evolve her race multiple times, and she subconsciously knew about it.

But after spending time in the Forge and contemplating on the discoveries and knowledge Corey told her, she thought of another method to successfully evolve her race.

Procreation

If an individual could no longer evolve, and he or she had reached their limit, their natural instincts would be to procreate so that they could survive.

This type of survival was different, and although it was only a very tiny part of them that would eventually survive.

At the end of the day, it was a means of survival.

Without procreation, a race would die out and not survive.

And as long as the individual procreates with another individual who is of similar strength, the chances of the offspring experience a sort of evolution would not be slim.

And if the individual procreates with another individual who is more powerful than he is, the chances of the offspring experiencing an evolution would be much higher.

But what Pamela wanted to do was not to make their child to be their means of survival, she wanted to use Corey's innate energies to evolve.

Because the difference between Corey's race grade and hers was so high, their child would either be of the same grade as Corey's race or at best, their child would get the best of their race's attributes.

And what this meant for Pamela was that her body would need to instinctively evolve to be able to bear Corey's child without dying.

This was also a sort of survival by battle, but this time around, it was her body that was battling to survive the child she wanted to bear.

Her body would be forced to evolve, to grow, and to become stronger so that she would not die while giving birth, and this was what she wanted.

There was a high risk in bearing Corey's child because of the difference in the grades of their race, and if she were a normal Tier 0 human, the chances of her dying was 99.999999999999%.

She would need a great amount of luck, Heaven's blessing, or the intervention of a great being.

But she was willing to take the risk.

Since she knew that there was more out there than the gods and the universe, and that her race was limiting her, she would definitely take the risk.

If she did not address it now in her current realm, it would be more difficult for her to change her race the higher her Tier becomes or the higher she goes up in the path of power.

After Corey listened to her explanation, his response was.

"No. I am still not allowing you to have my child just because of that."

Pamela sighed when she heard this, then she shook her head.

"I expected your response, and I completely understand it."

"Good. Then you should know it's out of discussion. You're not having my child just because of that."

Pamela was about to respond, but Corey raised a finger, signalling for her to keep quiet.

"First of all, you should not want a child because you want to grow stronger. That is so very wrong. You should want a child because you want one and because you want to form a family with your partner, and also love your partner."

"Two, many gods know about me. Some even hate me and want to kill me. Do you think they'll spare my child if they know I have one? It'll cause far more troubles than you think."

"Not only that, even beings outside our universe might target me very soon. I'll have extremely powerful enemies very, very soon."

"Do you really think having a child is at the top of my list, right now? Especially when we're not in love?"

Pamela calmly rolled her eyes, and replied.

"Then we'll fall in love."
