The group lapsed into silence as the sound of footsteps outside their cell became closer for all to hear.
Four armored Tier 6 Silver Elves passed through the corridor, and they stopped in front of their cell.
The guards' armor shimmered faintly with veins of lightning, and their dark silver eyes glanced at the five of them before one inserted a key into the keyhole of the cell.
"Get out. The queen wants to see all of you."
"About time."
Pamela was the first to approach the door and walk out, followed by Selene, Kiefer, Willow, and then Corey.
The door to the cell closed with a clang, and Corey, Pamela, Selene, Kiefer, and Willow were escorted by the group of four guard.
Selene exhaled slowly and began humming softly, breaking the quiet. However, in her mind, she began communicating with Corey, Pamela, Kiefer, and her mother.
Pamela had taught her, Kiefer, and her mother how to communicate telepathically.
It was different from many skills that gave one telepathy, since such a skill could be perceived by those with a rather high perception.
The telepathic ability Selene was using involved a series of runes which Pamela had personally created and taught them, and this made it a lot more unique than the average telepathic skills one can get from a skill crystal.
"So, what's the plan? Are we going to wait until the queen decides what to do with us? Or are we going to... improvise?" Her eyes glimmered faintly with anticipation as she looked at Corey.
Corey's expression remained the same and he did not look at her. "For now, we wait. Sometimes, letting your enemy believe you're cornered is better than showing your fangs too early."
Pamela gave a small laugh in each of their minds. "You're just trying to act smart. Just tell us you actually don't have a plan."
The corner of Corey's lips curled up slightly. "On the contrary, I always have a plan. But this time, I'm curious about what they plan on doing to us."
Pamela's lips twitched, and then she scoffed while folding her arms. "Fine. But if they try to drag me to another 'cozy cell', I'm breaking something."
Selene chuckled inwardly, and Willow gave a faint smile, though her eyes were thoughtful. Kiefer simply closed his eyes as he seemed to be meditating while walking, though Corey noticed the way his fingers twitched faintly, as if he were listening to something.
'Most likely the nearby plants... I guess he's trying to find a way to guarantee our safety and escape route in the event that we need it... Sharp boy.'
Corey shifted his attention away from Kiefer, and instead focused on his recovery.
In less than twelve hours, he had used the illusion ability of his Tri-Pupil Eyes to put two Immortals in an illusion, and the strain on his mind and absurd energy consumption was nearly tearing him apart.
If one were to check his internal system like his Celestial Mana Veins, his arteries, his muscles, and the likes. One would be stunned when they see the wears and tears that were in his internal system.
One might think that his internal system was the worst part of his body, but when the state of his Sea of Consciousness is seen, they would be shell shocked.
His Sea of Consciousness which had been nigh bottomless and nigh limitless became as small as a lake. Nearly a dozen Stars of Consciousness became dim, their light no longer shining on the region they were assigned to.
A single Star of Consciousness had even been extinguished because of the immense computational power and energy requirement in using the illusion ability of his Tri-Pupil Eyes twice in such a short period of time.
Cracks could be seen all over the space, and the only two things that were untouched were his Cosmic Soul which was pumping out mental and spiritual energy into his nearly dried up Sea of Consciousness, and also his Soul Origin which was chained as usual.
If Corey's pain resistance was not so high, and if not for the fact that he was splitting the pain he was meant to be feeling to some of his Stars of Consciousness.
If he did not have any of these, there was absolutely no way he would be able to take the steps he was currently taking.
He would be writhing and screaming in pain, wishing death could take him away and end his pain and suffering.
But unfortunately for death, he could withstand what he was going through.
'Once again, if not for the immortality of my eyes, I'm sure I would have lost my sight forever after using it on the Elven princess.'
'But it had to be done, or else we would have died.'
'Sigh... Unfortunately, I can't use the illusion ability of my eyes until I'm fully healed since I'll definitely die.'
'Hopefully, we don't have to engage in any battle with the Silver Elves.'
Corey closed his eyes briefly as he kept on walking. He realized that keeping his eyes shut, made them heal faster, and since he did not need them to follow the guards, he closed them.
His mind wandered, not in worry, but in contemplation as to what Queen Nerith planned on doing with them.
He already knew what he needed of the queen and the silver elves, and he just hoped they would be able to help with his request.
Some minutes later, Corey, Pamela, Kiefer, Selene, and Willow stood in the throne room before the queen and her children.
Syrelle stood by Queen Nerith's right hand, and Orynthia by her left. Thalos stood behind her, and Ecles sat on her laps, tugging, twirling, and playing with her silver hair.
Queen Nerith smiled at the appearance of Corey and the rest.
"I hope you enjoyed our warm and cozy rooms?"
Corey and Pamela's lips twitched at the sarcasm in the queen's words.
"It was very "warm" and "cozy", your majesty. Thank you."
Corey said with a fake smile, and Queen Nerith harmlessly smiled back.
"I have two requests by the way."
