Both Rui and Sentinel Prime watched with a stunned expression as the Suneater seemed to undergo a profound transformation that they had never seen before. The giant's mind seemed to grow stronger and stronger as it became a distinctly tangible quantity.
Rui couldn't even imagine how powerful the giant's mind was, given how large his brain was. However, he also knew that much of the neuro-cognitive potential was reserved for managing that astronomically enormous celestial body.
RUMBLE…
The violent tremors began to reduce as the giant seemed to stabilize, before heaving a deep breath and opening his eyes. Within them was the light of a highly conscious and intelligent mind devoid of any hunger or thirst.
Rui smiled as Sentinel Prime's expression crumpled with grave severity.
"Ah…" A booming murmur escaped the celestial giant.
His voice was one of relief, peace, and harmony.
"I'm free."
His declaration echoed throughout heaven and earth. Words could not describe the blissful relief that seemed to emanate from the sum totality of his entire being.
Nor the unfathomable power that came along with it.
He was so strong that not even Rui was certain he could defeat him in his current state, even if he, too, had grown immensely more powerful than he ever had been.
Of course, given that he had jumped up by a whole rank, nobody would expect the giant to be anything short of the indisputed most powerful. However, Rui knew that the giant equivalents of the Martial Realms did not cause such an astronomical spike in power.
The Giant Heart did not magnify its power to the same extent that the Martial Heart magnified the power of the Martial Body. Rui suspected that this was due to the fact that they had an inherently limited potential at a given size.
Most likely because all of that potential was being used up just to keep them alive.
A gigantic body was not predictive of survival; there was a reason that creatures that large did not emerge before the arrival of esoteric substances. It simply did not make sense for life to be that big, logistically, mechanically, or even thermodynamically.
The larger they were, the more burdens their body bore in many ways, exhausting much of their potential for more power into simply keeping them alive.
That would explain why the multiplying power of the Giant Heart was not as high as that of the Martial Heart, and most likely, the Giant Mind was not as powerful as the Martial Mind was, proportional to their prior states.
"You are a truly remarkable existence, Sovereign of Water," the Suneater remarked with a booming voice, drawing his attention. His giant body towered in the ocean, blotting out the earliest light of dawn that had begun to emerge from beneath the horizon.
His presence had grown less… messier, after his breakthrough. His mind had become more focused and coalesced than the distributed mess it was before. He came to resemble a person more than he resembled a force of nature.
"I do not know what path you follow," the giant remarked with a curious expression. "I do not know what kind of existence you are. I also do not recall there ever being a continent like that."
He glanced in the direction of the Panama Continent with an intrigued expression. "It seems the world has changed a lot since I last was here. How fascinating."
Rui sky-walked to meet the giant's gaze at eye-level. "I'm guessing you're done fighting then?"
The giant nodded, generating shockwaves with the gesture. "I have quenched my thirst, thanks to the water of your existence. You have my apologies for my belligerent assault on you and your homeland. You have my gratitude for ending the thirst that drove me to do so. I shall withdraw from this battle and return home."
Sentinel Prime gritted his teeth. "Wait! You think he's just going to forgive you like that? Think about it! You killed hundreds of thousands! He'll definitely come back for revenge! You should kill him now with me, now that you have the chance!"
"Nope," Rui smiled, waving the giant off. "I'm not going to fault you for trying to quench your thirst. I would be pretty desperate if I were that thirsty and someone told me there was water there. Your apology and your gratitude are appreciated, as long as it's not just empty words."
"You will find that we giants are of few words and are of great action," Suneater remarked, directing a knowing gaze at Rui. "Just say the word, and we will destroy the Continent of Acherialis."
Rui shook his head. "For now, I just need you to recall your army of giants and get them all to go back home to the Continent of Samarkha."
"Very well, Sovereign of Water." The giant turned around. "Farewell and good luck."
The very gesture caused tsunamis and storms to erupt.
RUMBLE!!!
He waded his way to the Continent of Samarkha east of Panama as Rui heaved a deep breath, turning towards Sentinel Prime with a pleasant smile.
"Now, it's just you and me."
Sentinel Prime gritted his teeth as he turned towards the Kandrian Empire with a violent bloodlust, shooting towards the nation at an extremely high speed.
Rui's ethereal eyes sharpened.
"I'm afraid not."
WHOOSH
He teleported before the sentinel, before unleashing an extraordinary blow of great power.
"I'll be borrowing a page from your book, Jinryong."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!
A thundering blow struck at Sentinel Prime's torso with great power as the impact permeated deeper.
CRACK CRACK CRACK!
The artificial invintium alloy skeleton system of the giant sentinel began cracking as Rui's blow had precisely exploited minute molecular fractures and shears that weakened integrity at highly specific angles and locations, the kind that would be impossible to detect and target under normal circumstances.
"Thankfully, my senses have all undergone profound upgrades." He genetically altered the evosapien half of all of his senses, programming them to sacrifice range of senses in exchange for precision, detail, and clarity, giving him nano-scale perception.
It allowed him to adaptively evolve his attacks to inflict the most damage on his opponents.
"Rgh…!" Sentinel Prime grimaced. "You—!"
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A heavy blow struck his head, cutting him off.
