The Prehistoric System in the world of Fantasy

Chapter 129: The secret is out

While a battle has just started in the sky above the Four Seasons hotel, at its foot, Zhi Yan, Li Liu, and Xuenyi finally arrived at the scene filled with chaos and screams as the people around were running for their lives. The tremors in the air were growing heavier by the second with the auras generated by two giants above.

The three ladies stopped in unison when a familiar figure soared across the night sky at the same time, at a low altitude.

Li Liu's eyes widened in recognition. She raised her hand and pointed upward."Look… It's Fang-ge!"

"Fang-Ge!" She shouted, but Lin Fang continued to fly, not being able to hear her shout, which was drowned in the screams of the crowd. Zhi Yan followed her gaze, and she froze for a moment, capturing the sight of Lin Fang, who wasn't just flying freely but also carrying Vivian in his arms, cutting through the air with effortless control.

"I… didn't know he could fly," Zhi Yan muttered in disbelief.

Xuenyi narrowed her eyes, scanning the faint aura flickering around Lin Fang's body before he left her range.

"He didn't seem to be using any artifacts," she said firmly with a nod, confirming Zhi Yan's suspicions. "It's a pure flight skill. Must be the inheritance he got from Li Chenfeng. After all, that old fellow could fly too." Taking a heavy breath, she further added. "Anyway, let's chase after them and make him land somewhere safe. It wasn't just the demon we had to worry about. Who knows what kind of enemies are lurking around and looking for an opportunity…"

Zhi Yan nodded sharply in agreement, and the three of them leaped across the broken street, heading in the same direction Lin Fang was flying toward.

Because Lin Fang was carrying another person, his speed was rather decent, not fast enough to leave Xuenyi or Zhi Yan behind. Li Liu was also keeping up with them due to the fact that she was on the back of Xuenyi's black wolf.

Meanwhile, in order to talk to him, Zhi Yan pulled out her phone and dialed his number.

But before he could pick up the phone that was buzzing in his pockets, in the sky, the divine form seated upon the radiant throne raised its arm. From the opposite horizon, the demon lord's colossal fist came crashing forward.

When the two collided, the shockwave that erupted was beyond a mere simple wave.

It traveled hundreds of meters in all directions to destroy almost every infrastructure at the same time. Dozens of civilians died from the building collapses, and several awakeners and hunters were also injured. The tidal burst of divine and demonic energy vaporized the air around and increased the humidity to alarming levels.

Lin Fang wasn't spared from that either. He was still fleeing when the blast of a shockwave struck him square in the back. As he was sent hurtling downward, he tightened his grip over Vivian and tightly hugged her before twisting mid-air, flipping so that Vivian remained above him, as they crashed through a roof and hit the street below with a deafening impact.

For a moment, neither of them moved. Then Vivian stirred, coughing softly, realizing she was completely unharmed — her head resting against Lin Fang's chest as she lay on top of him. He, however, was bleeding from his lips, feeling intense pain in his back that was scorched and torn from the shockwave.

"Lin Fang…!" Vivian gasped, pressing her hand against his cheek as they slowly got up. Her other hand trembled as she touched the blood on his lips. "You're hurt…"

Lin Fang forced a faint smile. "I've had worse. This wound is just superficial."

To that, Vivian turned his body and looked at his scorched back, "No, you are not." Tears almost filled her eyes. She grabbed his arm and said. "It's my fault… why did you do that… I…"

Right then, three shadows appeared through the haze — Zhi Yan, Li Liu, and Xuenyi, rushing toward them.

"Fang-ge!" Li Liu called out, her eyes widened in panic.

"He's down there!" Zhi Yan shouted, leaping off the broken pavement.

They reached him just as he and Vivian seemed to be gazing at one another. Lin Fang seemed calm, while Vivian seemed fully emotional.

Li Liu's gaze froze on the sight before her — Vivian's hand still cupping Lin Fang's cheek, with her thumb brushing the blood on his lips. Something in Li Liu snapped. She was already stressed with the whole Lin Fang staying in the same hotel as another woman and then flying off with her, now she was touching his face like that with such emotion and all… Li Liu couldn't bear any more.

Without thinking, she jumped down from the wolf and stormed forward with her boots crunching against the broken glass and rubble. "Don't touch someone else's boyfriend like that!"

Her voice came out sharper than she intended, but she didn't care. In one swift motion, she grabbed Vivian's wrist and shoved her lightly to the side, then wiped the blood from Lin Fang's lips with her own trembling hand. "You alright, darling?"

Everyone froze.

Zhi Yan blinked, utterly taken aback. Even Vivian stared with wide eyes, her lips parting slightly in confusion. Lin Fang, caught completely off-guard, looked at Li Liu with an awkward, helpless expression. "Umm…"

"Liu Liu…" Zhi Yan finally managed, crossing her arms and fixing her with a questioning look. "What exactly did you just say?"

Li Liu shut her eyes tight for a moment, realizing her outburst, then turned toward her friend. "Yan-Yan… I…" she began, her voice faltering as she was about to explain.

Before she could even start, Lin Fang suddenly spoke, trying to defuse the storm before it broke. "Yan'er, I know that you are surprised, but it's not some secret relationship as you think. We just started dating a few days ago," he said quickly, drawing all eyes toward him. "She wanted to tell you first, but I stopped her. I was worried how you'd react — since we're all staying in the same apartment block, you know… it could've been awkward."

Li Liu's eyes widened slightly, caught completely off guard by his sudden cover-up.

Meanwhile, Lin Fang continued, "Besides, we haven't even gone on a proper date yet. We're still figuring things out… So, I convinced her that it is better to tell some other time…"

For a few seconds, no one said a word.

Zhi Yan then exhaled slowly, rubbing her temples. "You two…" she muttered under her breath, half in disbelief, half in resignation.

Before the conversation could go any further, Xuenyi's voice cut through sharply.

"Enough, all of you!" she snapped. "This isn't the time for silly relationship talk!"

Everyone turned toward her, who narrowed her eyes. "We might be far from the main battle," she said, scanning the surroundings, "but that doesn't mean we're safe. That thing's summoning lesser demons even as we speak."

She looked directly at Lin Fang.

"We need to move… now…" Her voice trailed off as the ground beneath them trembled again, a low growl echoing through the ruined streets.

"It's him."

The Sky over Peking City;

As if fate wanted to prove Xuenyi's words, the pressure intensified in the surroundings. Meanwhile, far above the Four Seasons Hotel, black clouds twisted unnaturally, forming concentric circles that pulsed with scarlet light.

Then came the voice: deep, resonant, and commanding.

"Come forth… my servants."

The words echoed across the entire city, reverberating through the bones of every living being.
