Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear

Chapter 243: Subsidiary Label

"Under the agreement, I9 would become a subsidiary label under Flower Garden," Director iterated.

"But if possible, we don't want our agency to be absorbed into the new branch," Han Jeongwoon demanded.

Immortals' agency and their job as idols were just hobbies outside of their main vocation, so if possible, they would like it to remain as two separate matters.

Director massaged her temples. Having argued with Plotter and dealt with these troublesome matters, her patience was already at its limit.

"I9's acquisition wouldn't affect your hobbies," Director said, about to give up.

'Are your hobbies more important than your job?!'

Just then, Plotter also joined in.

"If you're thinking that you'll become Minstrels once you join the branch, it's not possible. Only souls in seed form are eligible to become Minstrels."

Then he smiled and tilted his head.

"Even if you wish to die, it's not even a guarantee you'll leave behind a seed."

Just like what he said before; Rayen and the rest of SEEDZ aren't the same as normal Entities — they're Pseudo-Existences. So even if Han Jeongwoon and Immortals chose to transfer, they wouldn't suddenly transform their nature.

"....." Han Jeongwoon was speechless.

Who the hell said he wanted to die? He even clearly stated he didn't want to do anything with their new branch!

"... Then why are you... trying to acquire I9 if not to join the new branch?"

Han Jeongwoon wanted to include the word "forcefully," but he feared he might anger the Overseers and could only restrain himself.

However, the Director was stumped.

The real reason... Well, it's because she's not well-versed in this industry. In the first place, it was Plotter's idea to make the seeds into idols, so he should have been the one handling these things, but that small devil refused to do so and insisted on becoming the group's manager.

Director glared at Plotter before glancing back at Han Jeongwoon.

"Flower Garden might seem to have everything, but in truth, it's just an empty shell. We have equipment, but no manpower. As for the staff members we used to film the show..." Having cut off her own words, Director gazed at the old man.

Lib smiled unamused. "I've sent them all back to their previous posts. You, sneaky brats, pulled them all out without me noticing. Very good. Very good."

Director sighed. "Well, that's that... So, the acquisition of I9 is just a measure to help us in this matter. Isn't your agency already handling these kinds of matters?"

The corner of Han Jeongwoon's lips twitched. "I see..."

In short, they wanted I9 to handle all of the complicated things.

After a few more short discussions, the meeting ended on a good note. By the time Plotter led the whole team out, he was humming.

It wasn't the case for the team, though.

Especially for Adrian, who just wanted to laze around, and Ren, who kept avoiding responsibilities as much as he could. And Rayen, who Plotter seemed to expect to contribute the most.

'Another competition? And with the legendary producer even?'

Why do they have to compete even after the show? This just doesn't make any sense.

Though the stakes weren't as high as before, so maybe...

"Don't think that you won't disappear even if you lose this match." Plotter suddenly put a stop to Rayen's thought process.

The rest of the members of SEEDZ glanced at the small figure of Plotter ahead of them.

"Ayumi is also planned to debut. If you let her handle the title track production, she could claim most of the credits for the album. She's also another Minstrel like you. Right now, since you're a group, you have a larger fanbase than she does, so we are giving you the most resources. But if you can't prove yourself better than her, then we might as well just push her up instead."

Plotter grinned.

"And remember, your existence is tied to your presence in people's hearts. So, if you flop, you're gone."

The members stiffened as they listened.

'Damn… We're still not in the clear?'

...

The group went back to their dorm with renewed worries. They might have debuted, but they still had to work hard, it seems.

Even though the group was facing this crisis, the outside world received another bomb.

I9 official social media accounts' single post shook the entire K-Pop industry.

[I9 Entertainment

Hello, this is I9, Immortal's Agency. We are informing everyone, especially Everlastings, who've always supported Immortals from the get-go, that we are officially joining Flower Garden Entertainment as their new sub-label. Despite these sudden changes, Immortals would still operate as usual, with full creative control of their own production.

We hope that you will still support Immortals even amidst these changes. Thank you.]

– What?!

– Immortals joining Flower Garden?

– Who the hell is Flower Garden?

– Is IMMORTALS going under?

– I'm sure this is just propaganda used by Weed Garden to advertise themselves.

– What an expensive advertisement.

– If you really have money, you could do anything.

– I don't care about it. I just care about how I could join Flower Garden. Do you know their address? I'd like to audition for them.

– Jeongwoonieeee, why did you join Flower Garden?

– Isn't this a good thing? Now that their label is under a wealthy company, we can expect a good comeback next time.

This announcement received mixed reactions from both fans and casual netizens. The #ImmortalsChangingAgency topped the trend searches for a straight whole week.

Still, this didn't affect anyone from SEEDZ. They still have to hustle and bustle and compose their songs. And most of all...

Yeo Haru and Xu Jiji had to attend school.

"Noooo! I really don't want toooooo!!!!" Yeo Haru wailed.

As Rayen opened his eyes and woke up from his slumber, this was the first thing that greeted him. Rayen blinked repeatedly, shaking away his sleepiness.

"Do idols even need to go to school?" Yeo Haru's loud voice travelled towards Rayen's bed once again.

It was supposed to be a rare holiday for them. They didn't have to practice intensely as they had to focus on creating their songs. But now... Yeo Haru continued to wail as though he were getting abused.

"Yeo Haru."

Drake's voice echoed throughout the room. Rayen groggily sat up in his bed.

Standing near Yeo Haru's bed, Xu Jiji was in a navy blue uniform, watching the wailing Yeo Haru in pity.

"We've already discussed this matter. And I've already informed you that you will start attending school today. Why are you still not dressed?" Drake lectured him.

"I also told you that I want to be homeschooled."

Out of annoyance, Drake messed up his signature mohawk and walked out of the room.

Watching Drake's figure disappear through the door, Yeo Haru's complexion became better.

Xu Jiji sighed. "Why don't you want to go to school?"

Yeo Haru bit his lips, not answering him. Finally, Xu Jiji also walked out, leaving him alone.

In the end, Xu Jiji went to school without Yeo Haru.

'Going out, huh?'

Upon recalling that time he was mobbed by the crowd, Rayen shivered.

No, he certainly didn't want to go out.

Still, he couldn't help but glance back at Yeo Haru, who had already gone back under his quilt. The corner of Rayen's lips twitched.

'He just went back to sleep after disturbing mine?'

The urge to kick this guy in the ass surfaced in Rayen's mind.

But why does this kid not even want to go to school?

Well, even if he asked him, Rayen was pretty sure he wouldn't even answer.

With that, Rayen ignored the thought to kick him and stood up. Upon opening the door, his phone vibrated in his pocket. With a frown, Rayen pulled it out and unlocked the screen.

Then, his eyes gleamed in pleasant surprise.
