Rayen and the others continued to knock on the door, but no matter how many times they tried, no one answered.
Sighing, Rayen turned to Xu Jiji.
After he left for Vallenci, the two would have been managing the club matters together with Yuzuka and Miles.
"What exactly happened?" Rayen asked.
Xu Jiji briefly glanced at the door of their room before turning his head back at Rayen. He reiterated everything that had happened from the moment Rayen left the school until the moment Mr. Jay appeared.
"When Elite Club's adviser appeared, he acted weirdly."
"How weird?" Adrian asked, hands on his chin.
"He knew the teacher's name without any introduction..."
The whole room went silent.
"Could it be..." Mr. Big News trailed off.
"That teacher must be related to him!" Xi Huan continued Mr. Big News's words.
Everyone turned towards her, silent.
Xi Huan stared at Xu Jiji. "Let me ask a few more things, Ajiji."
"... What is it?"
"How exactly did Haruru react when he saw this teacher? Was he happy? Was he excited? No... He's sulking right now, so it must be a negative reaction."
"It's indeed not a good reaction. He was stiff and clenching his fist."
"Nice observation!" Xi Huan put her thumbs up. "From these clues, we can assume that they must either be former love rivals! After seeing this guy, he was probably reminded of his tragic love story that ended before it could even blossom!"
A few moments later, Adrian patted her on the shoulders. "You really are a T. You can even think of that."
"Of course!"
"You must have been a good writer in your past life," Adrian added, his tone sarcastic.
"No. I'm a great illusion master!"
Suddenly, Rayen shook his head.
"No." His next words shifted their attention back to the topic. "It's not that simple as love rivals."
Everyone turned their heads toward him.
"Do you know something?" Adrian said.
Unable to answer right away, Rayen stared at them for a long time.
Finally, he sighed.
'It's better to explain it than hide.'
"Actually, I accepted a skill ranking mission about half a month ago."
"Is Yeo Haru's matter related to your penalty?" Adrian asked, cutting his explanation short.
However, it didn't annoy Rayen. Having someone who could understand without a complete explanation was truly a blessing.
Rayen nodded. "Yes... My penalty mission is experiencing nightmares."
"Are your nightmares related to Yeo Haru?" Without batting an eye, he added more, "Is it about his death?"
It took Rayen a few seconds to nod his head. Everyone went silent, each with their own thoughts.
"If you can see how Yeo Haru died, have you seen ours?" Iris suddenly asked.
Before Rayen could answer, Xi Huan interrupted. "Rayeye, you're such a Peeping Tom~"
"Beep. I'm not!" Rayen denied.
"Anyway, I don't have anything to hide. I died in a rather dignified way!" Xi Huan boasted.
"If you've seen mine, please tell me," Xu Jiji said. "I actually don't know how I died."
So there was someone else who didn't remember their death just like Rayen.
Aside from Xi Huan and Xu Jiji, the others couldn't look straight at Rayen.
'I really haven't seen any of your death...'
Just then, Rayen's phone vibrated inside his pocket. Rayen slowly pulled it out and unlocked his screen.
[Team Ranking Mission Failed
Penalty: xxxx's nightmare
Do you want to take a penalty mission now? (If you don't accept, the Penalty Debuff will continue and you won't be able to rank up your Team Skill.)
Y/N]
Silence reigned in the whole room as Rayen read the words on the screen. The others were also silently waiting for him to speak again.
Finally, Rayen lifted his head and looked at his other members.
"Is something the matter, Brother?" Xu Jiji asked.
"I just received the penalty mission..."
"Such a coincidence." Adrian chuckled.
Yeah. Truly a coincidence. This must be what Plotter wanted to truly happen.
Rayen stared at the words once more, his vision hovering over the accept button for so long. Suddenly, a hand pulled his phone away from his grasp. When Rayen looked at the culprit, Adrian was already reading the same words that Rayen had before.
"Give it back."
Before Rayen could even snatch it back, Adrian tapped on the screen and handed it back to him.
"Here you go." Adrian put his hands in his pants pocket.
Rayen glanced at his phone screen, at the notification prompt saying that he had accepted the mission.
[Team Ranking Penalty Mission (Haru's Nightmare)
Mission: Rescue Yeo Haru out of his nightmare.
Time Limit: 1 hour]
'This guy...'
He looked up at Adrian.
"What? I just accepted it on your behalf. I'm getting tired of your grumpy attitude from these past few days," Adrian said.
"....."
"Let's go."
With those words, he gestured for Xi Huan.
"What do you want to do, Adidi?"
"What else?" Adrian smirked. "We're gonna wake up Haru."
"Then why are you gesturing toward me?"
"Don't hide it from me. I know you can also open door locks."
"... I said I'm an illusion master, not some thief."
"Isn't that just another term for swindlers? Don't hype yourself up."
"Che." Xi Huan clicked her tongue. "Who's more like a swindler here?"
Nevertheless, she still walked toward the door. From under her sleeves, a set of tools for picking locks appeared in her hands.
She indeed could open door locks...
As Ren saw this, his face let out a disapproving look. "You should have just opened the door earlier."
If she had done so, then he could have rested earlier.
"But you didn't ask me if I could open the door, Renene," Xi Huan responded as she pushed one of the tools into the hole of the lock.
But then, the door suddenly swung open from the inside.
"Eh? It's no longer locked."
Xi Huan further pushed open the door. However, what greeted them wasn't the same bedroom that they were expecting. Instead, it was an empty corridor.
After looking around, she glanced back at everyone. Adrian only passed by her, stepping into the corridor. Rayen also followed him in, as well as the other members.
Once everyone was in, the door suddenly disappeared. After briefly glancing at the door that was nowhere now, they turned their heads around, looking for any signs of Yeo Haru.
"Did they connect your room to some other dimension?" Adrian asked, looking at Rayen.
He was the one who accepted the mission earlier, so he wasn't that surprised that something unusual followed after.
With a frown, Rayen responded, "This place seems familiar."
The eight people continued walking until they exited the empty corridor. At the fork ahead, they saw a line of empty classrooms.
Once Rayen saw this, he finally realized where they were.
"This... This seems like Yeo Haru's school."
Adrian raised his brows. "So the reason why Yeo Haru refuses to go to school is that he died there?"
"No," Rayen said. "I don't know if he died at school or somewhere else."
This only piqued everyone's curiosity.
Rayen continued walking, his gaze checking the numbers of each room. Once he arrived at a certain classroom, he stopped. The others also stopped behind him.
"Is this Yeo Haru's room?" Xu Jiji asked.
