Hearing those words, I had a hidden smile. Though I still looked weak to the world, another chaos descended upon the city once again. Just some time ago, there was chaos from Fenrir appearing in the world. Chaos after chaos is coming at the same time. But this time it was a statement. A statement from me.
'Statement to the whole goddamn world.'
As I said, there were several easier, more conservative, more intellectual ways of dealing with this. But then, that would lead to me having to deal with several other problems. This step I took, this step was a statement that will spread to the whole goddamn world. A statement to every power that is rising from the dark, hinting at haunting me or anyone I care about. Especially my family.
By this step, I have shown those people watching that I am not an easy target to take down. That to them, I have cards they have to be scared of. Of course, these steps have their own drawbacks too. The enemies will get sharper, they will try harder, they will hide better. But that is a price I will have to pay.
'When fate is being a bitch against you, what you do is show the middle finger back. But in style.'
Turning through those thoughts, I stood up well on my own. My powers will fade within some time. While I turned to smile at Eleanor, who was looking at me with shaking eyes. By having done this, I took away the shackles that were binding her. Not permanently, but with the situation so twisted, the side of reason they had is gone. Along with it are the chains that are bound by the oath.
"I did well, didn't I?"
I asked with a smile towards Eleanor, who went into a daze, and replied with a proud smile.
"Yeah, yeah, you did..."
Smiling at her words, I was about to say something more when I froze. The smile on my face turned away. My expression turned ice cold.
"Hahahahahaha... guess fate really has turned against me!"
My laughter was chilling.
[The fate of a conqueror is not a blessing. Every being in existence fights against being conquered. One with the fate of the conqueror will always face resistance. Especially even more if you have pissed off fate.]
'You saying the god is doing this now?'
[No. Even Fate isn't all that petty. This is just the fight of the natural law of the world against the conqueror, one outside the set story. As I mentioned earlier, the issue with the starter pack in the sense you described is no longer present. And the fate is given, which is bad against fate itself. Which all goes to say that the bad luck against you has begun.]
'Will it always be this bad?'
[No. This is because the accumulated desire to fight against has opened just now. And the bad luck all of them came together at the same time.]
'I see... I see...'
With those thoughts, I disappeared from where I stood. Moved through the whole pack like they were made of paper. Before arriving at a more hidden location within the academy itself. The moment I arrived, a voice I knew very well called out.
"Brother!"
Even looking like this, Elda found me out as she called me out from a barrier she was safe in. The pin I gave her, attached to her hair, produced a barrier around her. Keeping her safe. But the fear and danger she went through are still passing through her body.
'To think something like this will happen even though I made precautions and protections. Have to face it, fate is good.'
Even though I was having these little thoughts, my mind was sharp and cold. Filled with fury enough to bring down this whole floating continent to the ground. My eyes landed on the six men around the barrier. Their eyes widened as they stared at me. Their bodies are freezing. The lust three of them had in their face clear as day.
"Ready to die?"
I asked with a light tone.
.....
Third Person POV:
All across the different archery towers in the world, the humiliation was happening all at the same time. The tower masters, being the Quiverlords, all held down. The humiliation burns deep into their body. Feeling like a hot knife through their hearts. The prideful locations, their prideful places, are all being held down.
Powerful ships floating in the sky. Their weapons are being handed down to them. Powerful guards holding their place. Their names and their parchments all held them down. And that was the situation until five minutes ago. All of them had started to act weird. Like something huge was going down. And once close to six minutes had passed, something happened. Something big.
It was as if the space above them had ripped open. A force so powerful that it seemed to be crushing pressed onto all of them. And within that power, a single light-like arrow passed through it. And that arrow, before any of them, even the powerful guards and the single Imperials that came over to the lead, could react, the arrows hit.
It didn't kill them. But like beautiful stars, the blue light fell like comets from the sky. For a moment, it looked like God's judgment. As the lights specifically and carefully hit each of the War Council members. The ships were safe. But any of the other guards and members of the war councils who were outside all got hit at the same time.
It was indeed like God's judgment. But more towards the side of the war council. No one could even understand what had happened. Before any of them could even register, all of them were down. None of them was killed or hurt severely. It was as if the arrow itself had put all of them into a single gentle sleep.
And along with it came some of them, young, red, and screaming on the ground. It didn't take a genius to understand what was happening there. The corrupted ones within were showing to the outside. Everyone could see it raw and open. It was a humiliation on a level that had never seen before. Never has the war council experienced something like this. An open mocking of who and what they are.
This happened across all locations that were being held by the war council. To many, it looked like the very protection of a God towards the archery association. In a single moment, all the humiliation, anger, and pride they had lost were restored in a second. Within a single move, Austin had given them all everything they had lost. He had protected them and given back their pride while hurting the one who had targeted them.
It was a glorious moment in which the next thirty years of the legend of Austin were etched onto the world. A moment of a legend that is being etched deeply, such that it will be told by the tales of the world. At the moment, the rise of the legends of Austin is being shown. The first step was the moment the world got to know that messing with Austin Lionheart, no matter how high your status, no matter how high your power, would have never-ending consequences.
The pages on the history that Austin will write have begun. And the first page of it, with its steps, began with announcing the greatness of his powers all around the world.
....
Meanwhile, after the time that Austin had left, Elda was left back in the room. Having seen the expression on Austin's face and the other two's faces, she understood that something bad had happened. And it showed once again the pressure that was being held in the shoulder of her brother. Right now, he had defeated the Juggernaut of the time in pure strength, and he didn't even get enough time to enjoy the situation before he had to head out to deal with something else.
It wasn't fair. Her brother was only supposed to be dealing with things related to things people their age should be dealing with. Instead, he was burdened with the power of being a hero with a fate he didn't ask for. Where he has to fight and fight, while sacrificing perhaps a good life of his. And Elda didn't like that situation one bit.
She wanted him to always be happy and free from the stress of the world. But she knew right now she didn't have the power to do anything like that. And the best thing she could achieve is not being a burden on him, but something more that can always be of help to him. That is the dream of Elda moving forward.
Thus, with these thoughts, Elda stepped out of the room. Her mind was swirling with a lot of complex thoughts. Related to the situation around her friends, the dragon princess, and the kid duty her brother bears.
'Sigh... so much to think through.'
Just as she was leaving the place to meet her friend, a voice sounded out.
"Student Elda?"
