The Conquerors Path

Chapter 975-Targeted.

The voice got Elda back as she turned to look at a teacher who had appeared behind her. Right now, she was in more of the walking area of the coliseum, a long path forward till she could get out. This is more of a closed-off hallway. Elda looked at the male teacher, whom she definitely knew.

"Teacher Kovick, do you need anything from me?"

Elda asked back with confusion. The teacher in question was someone she knew well. He teaches her. His specialty being more towards the study and understanding of the history of the continent. The man himself is a human who is about the age of 40, brown hair and eyes, along with a light gentle smile. His power level, which Elda had noted down before, ranges from Origin level 5.

The weaker side of the faculties in the academy. Thus holding herself with her natural gentle smile, Elda waited for the answer.

"Indeed, you can. I have been doing research and studying the history and memory of the fairies. And right now, I am in a critical juncture of understanding. I think you can help me in furthering my studies."

The words earned a certain sparkle in the eyes of Elda, who was actually looking forward to any way she could increase her power. The words Kovick spoke opened up certain pathways she could perhaps take on herself. Maybe attaching to the past, she might be able to find ways to open up futures for herself, too. Increasing her power in ways she didn't see before.

"It won't have to be for free. I can promise a significant academic point and bump up any marks on your assignments and test scores. It will also be good for any future project you work on, too."

The incentives were also good for Elda as she nodded her head and replied.

"Sure, it sounds like something I am interested in. When can we start all this?"

"We can discuss more of the specifics in detail in the future. But right now, if we could head towards my research room, we can settle on some more help right now. It is the main reason I headed here so fast. I am at a turning point with a certain artefact from the past, and perhaps your presence there can help boost the opening I have made."

Kovick spoke, making Elda frown as she asked.

"What kind of opening?"

"Sorry, I can only say more if you come to look at it. I can promise you that it won't be a loss for you."

Hearing the reply, Elda thought for a moment. She didn't have anything specific to do right now, and, thinking it was the right moment, she accepted those words as she replied.

"Sure, I am free now."

"Excellent."

With those words, Kovick started to lead the way. Him taking the path forward and moving out of the hallway. Soon, reaching the outside of the coliseum. Elda is walking with a smile on her face. Her mind was still flickering with the heat of Austin's battle as they once reached one of the closest teleportation centres. And as always, Elda was definitely catching the eyes of everyone as she moved around.

Soon, with Kovick paying for the transportation, they had gone through all the procedures and moved through the path. Walking toward the areas in which the teachers draw from their research. In this area, walking around are several teachers, along with students and even assistant teachers.

This area itself forms more of a heavy, tidy-like atmosphere. The building they entered was focused towards the research departments. And as they walked by, and before, the whispers of the battle had spread. The news of Austin's impossible victory. The sheer surprise, presence and heat spreading everywhere.

Being as empathetic as Elda is, she could sense all around the atmosphere that was getting better. Especially around the original students. This victory marked the good news many of them needed. Which opened up to a happy atmosphere that was desperately needed in the place. So after issues kept popping up all around the city, the academy and the world.

So the battle in which Austin displayed his abilities boosted a lot of support all around. Which was good. Thus, Elda had a wide smile as she heard all the flattery around which circled her brother. Thus, with time, the two of them reached Kovick's research room as she opened it up for Elda, who walked in with a normal look on her face.

Inside, the unique smell of books spread around. Elda's eyes gazed upon the overall arrangement, where she could see several books spread around. Inside itself, being a teaching assistant who, seeing them come in, responded with a light smile.

"Welcome, student Elda. We are so happy that you can make it. Our research will definitely take large steps forward with your help."

"Of course, it's my pleasure, teacher Mansi."

The assistant teacher in question is another male, in his late 20s, with a nice, charming smile, light green hair and green eyes. He brjng a half-elf named Mansi. And as the assistant teacher of Kovick, Elda had interacted with Mansi her fair share. Mansi's smile got a bit wider at her reply as Kovick spoke.

"Come, let me show you what we have."

His voice even as he led Elda through the place towards a far part of the room where a certain orb that was pulsing with green light stayed. Just seeing it felt like some sort of connection to the bloodline of Elda, who felt a certain spike in her. It didn't take long before she reached towards it as she asked.

"This is interesting."

And just as Elda got close enough, a warm light soon blasted from the orb, hitting her hard. Making her head dizzy for a moment. And within the second, the eyes of Elda widened in fear as she felt something restrict her bloodline. Like something is cutting her off from connecting to the Fairy realm. Her connection to calling her fairy Veronica being cut off. This alien situation completely floored Elda as she turned to ask her teachers for help.

"Teacher, I feel we—"

She didn't even have to complete her sentence as she turned around to see the vile smirks on her teacher's faces. And instantly, the bad feeling that was filling in Elda from before intensified like never before. Her powers were cut off. And even her connection to feel mana seemed lost. Within an instant, she even lost connection to her space ring. Cutting off anything she could access.

"Looks like the bloodline sealer worked."

Kovick spoke.

"It was a good idea to enhance it with fairy dust, even though it was expensive."

Mansi added.

"Indeed."

And Kovick agreed. The words itself having shown Elda that she had fallen into a trap. Her expression turned for the worse as she asked.

"What do you want with me?"

Her anger burned as she asked so.

"It's what I want with you that should be the question."

Another voice sounded out, to which, a moment later, from another connected room came four people. Two of them are young students, even. While the other two were older, the more dangerous one can say. The two of them are older men looking to be about their mid-40s. With their power unable to be accessed but to one with experienced eyes, everyone could see that one among them was a half-step Imperial, while the other was an Imperial.

The other two young kids are one being human and the other being a beastman of the lion race. The two of them had smiles on their face. Though Elda could easily feel the lust and desire in their eyes. The same for being the teachers. And that disgusted her to no end. Making her body feel physically sick to be looked upon by these eyes by anyone other than Austin.

"You should have accepted our advances while we were still being good."

The human young male spoke.

"I am sorry, who are you?"

Elda asked back in a low tone. Making the young man pause for a moment. His expression twisted up a bit.

"This bitch..."

He whispered.

"Hold on, you don't need to be so sensitive. She is right now, already in our hands. What can she do anyway?"

The lion beastmen spoke with a chilling tone. His desire leaked out of him raw as he spoke so. Elda, feeling the pressure all around her, didn't break. Holding her head high, she looked at them as she spoke with a grim tone.

"My family will destroy you. And my brother will make sure to make you all pay too."

Elda's voice was filled with conviction as she said this. Her expression was trying her best to keep herself looking normal. But the tension in the room was thick. The desire is running high. And Elda knew that something bad was about to happen. Though the young man took a step in and tried to touch Elda against her will, a powerful light blasted from her hairpin. Pushing the young man away.

And before even the Imperial could act, a low, powerful barrier surrounded Elda. Keeping her safe. A golden light like a barrier. And a warmth spread across Elda as she felt the barrier.

"Brother..."

Elda whispered.
