The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 77: Continue Fighting

"Boom!"

Sun Wukong's Jingu Bang swept through the Chaos

The Chaos shook violently, space was about to shatter, displaying cracks everywhere.

This strike was too powerful; flames soared to the sky, the Chaos tumbled wildly, and a terrifying gale spread, triggering a massive earthquake.

"So strong indeed!"

People looked towards the sky.

Sun Wukong, holding the Long Stick, shone with divine brilliance, his Jingu Bang sweeping the Chaos like a river of stars made of flames.

Each of his blows could trigger an earthquake, celestial bodies tumbled within the Chaos, burnt to nothing by the flames.

"How mighty!"

Four Golden Dragons watched in the shadows, horrified, refusing to come forth.

The surging flames swept through the Chaos again and again, yet failing to crush them out.

"How could this be."

Sun Wukong struck again to no avail, utterly baffled.

How could his attack fail.

If one were to say that the four Golden Dragons and the Heavenly Machine didn't exist, that wasn't the case; when Sun Wukong flew outward, he distinctly felt a wall in front of him, bound by a Barrier.

Such a Barrier, impossible to overlook.

"Continue!"

The thought flashed through Sun Wukong's mind, and he continued to bombard the Chaos.

In the sky, Immortal Zhenyuan and the monks were locked in battle, Immortal Energy rolling like smoke straight into the Nine Heavens.

"What effects does that Barrier have?"

Immortal Zhenyuan shattered the monk's Immortal Law, asking loudly.

"One day equals one year."

The monk answered, his intention was to trap these two forever within the perilous night.

"One day equals one year."

A cold light shot from Immortal Zhenyuan's eyes: "How coincidental, the same is true for the Three Realms Heavenly Palace."

"——Little brother has broken through the Heavenly Palace, surely he won't let you have your way."

Immortal Zhenyuan weaved through lightning, charging at the monk.

"That's not for him to decide."

The monk emitted a splendid radiance, Immortal Texts filling the sky, blocking his attack: "He can't even find the Heavenly Machine, how can he break it!"

"He surely can find it."

Immortal Zhenyuan struck with a fist covered in Immortal Texts, clashing with the Brahman Texts, creating a thunderous noise.

"Useless."

The monk resisted while speaking: "That power is beyond your knowledge!"

Boom!

The sky filled with exploding Brahman Texts, both figures were sent flying.

"What unknown."

Immortal Zhenyuan steadied himself first, launched at the monk again with a punch, laughing aloud: "Little brother's head is much better than mine!"

What a great feeling to fight with fists!

Immortal Zhenyuan regretted not cultivating his physical body earlier.

In the vast Chaos, the tumultuous flames turned into a vast ocean.

Sun Wukong was truly too strong, everywhere the wind of his stick went, everything headed towards destruction.

The four Golden Dragons watched in terror for a while, then finally relaxed.

"You can't find us, no matter how strong you are, it's futile."

One Golden Dragon spoke: "The power we wield, you will never comprehend."

"Not comprehend?"

Sun Wukong put away Jingu Bang: "I know what power you used."

The Golden Dragons had given it away the moment they spoke.

He felt a familiar aura,

"Hidden Soul."

The power wielded by the Golden Dragons was the Hidden Soul.

Back in the Three Realms, the Buddha had introduced Hidden Soul to Sun Wukong.

According to him, Hidden Soul was the essential power for beings of the Three Realms entering the Chaos, like wings to birds, only with its mastery could the beings of the Three Realms soar within the Chaos.

However, how to control the power of Hidden Soul, even the Buddha was unclear.

What he knew were only a few words left behind by ancient forebears.

In all his journey up until today, Sun Wukong had never discovered the power of Hidden Soul — today was the first encounter.

"It's the power of Hidden Soul!"

A gleam flashed in Sun Wukong's eyes.

Such a revelation ignited his will to battle.

"I must master this power."

Sun Wukong thought to himself.

This power is not only important for him but for all beings in the Three Realms and Chaos.

But how can he obtain it?

He must lure out those four Golden Dragons.

Sun Wukong's mind was racing with thoughts.

Just then, a voice came from the ground.

"Master, I can help you find those four dragons!"

The voice spoke to Sun Wukong.

"Who?"

Sun Wukong looked down, surveying the city below.

The two from Nan Ming, the Heavenly Dog, and the Heavenly Horse were all watching Immortal Zhenyuan's battle, clearly, it wasn't them.

Sun Wukong's gaze swept over the demons, and no one there seemed to be the source.

"Master, it's me."

The voice sounded again, and as Sun Wukong followed it, he was taken aback.

The ground had a palace radiating strong pulsations as if it was responding to his gaze.

"It's you!"

Sun Wukong was surprised. How could it be that palace, and a palace could become sentient!

"I felt your will to fight."

The palace said, "Master, with your unbeatable divine skills and me by your side, no one in the Brahma Void Heavenly Court can stop you."

"You can help me find those four dragons?"

Sun Wukong asked.

"Of course."

The connection from the palace grew even stronger: "But Master's trial was interrupted, there is still one trial remaining, you cannot use my power until then."

"Very well."

A sharp glint flashed in Sun Wukong's eyes.

This fellow could be of help to him.

That's what Sun Wukong judged.

He changed direction and descended towards the ground.

The palace on the ground was surrounded by rosy clouds, shining with a radiant light.

The monk engaged in battle noticed this light, and his expression changed.

"This won't do!"

He quickly left behind an incarnation to distract Immortal Zhenyuan and extricated himself from the fray, rushing towards the palace.

This was not an ordinary palace; apart from the power of the War God, it carried other responsibilities.

If Sun Wukong managed to harness its power, there could potentially be two Heavenly Emperors in the Brahma Void Heavenly Court in the future.

"You cannot appear in this world!"

The monk launched an attack at the palace, intent on driving it back underground.

"Out of the way!"

Suddenly, a thunderous shout rang out and a huge shadow of a stick descended from the sky, striking the monk and sending him flying.

Sun Wukong descended in a golden light above the palace.

"Open the gates!"

Sun Wukong commanded.

The palace blazed brilliantly, and its gates swung open amidst loud rumblings. A golden path emerged from nothing and appeared beneath Sun Wukong's feet.

Sun Wukong stepped onto the path and strode towards the palace.

"No!"

The monk tried to intervene again, but Sun Wukong suddenly turned back, and two beams of light shot out.

The monk was struck by the light, coughed up blood, and was flung back once more, crashing to the ground.

He clutched at his chest, disbelievingly watching Sun Wukong, unable to fathom his strength.

"Don't interfere with me!"

Sun Wukong's eyes ceased their golden glow as he walked into the palace.

Once the palace doors closed, he was no longer visible.

The monk stood up from the ground and looked at the palace.

"Realize how formidable it is now?"

Immortal Zhenyuan appeared in front of him, speaking, "Brother, if he gets serious, even the two of us combined wouldn't be enough to take him on."

He chuckled and clenched his fist: "Of course, that doesn't matter!"

A vast burst of Immortal Light erupted as Immortal Zhenyuan threw a punch at the monk.

"Let's continue the fight!"
