"Why aren't you dead yet?"
The words of Nu Ying, the daughter of the goddess Hua, dispelled the fog, allowing Emperor Yao to come to a sudden realization.
Indeed, this was his daughter.
Only his daughter would speak to him in such a manner.
"Are you really Hua and Nu Ying?"
Emperor Yao asked again to confirm.
"Yes."
"Are you really our father?"
Both women couldn't believe it.
They thought all their clan members had died, never expecting to encounter their father here, who seemed on the verge of fading from memory.
"How did you survive?"
Nu Ying immediately grew curious.
Having a conversation among the three of them, Ao Luan, seeing there were no issues, took Daji and exited.
"Tell me about what's happening in the Heavenly Court."
She pressed Daji for updates on the situation outside.
Daji relayed the events of recent days to Ao Luan, causing her to break out in cold sweats.
"Big Brother is always so reckless."
Despite the eventual positive outcome, Ao Luan still felt helpless about Sun Wukong's impulsiveness.
After a few more days, the Jade Emperor returned to the Three Realms from the Heavenly Court with a group.
"The Imperial Brother summons you to the Heavenly Court."
He said to Ao Luan, "I'll take care of things here."
After much thought, Sun Wukong eventually summoned Ao Luan to the Heavenly Court.
Ao Luan, taking a group along, passed through the Light Gate and then, without pause, hastily proceeded towards the Star Palace where Sun Wukong resided.
In the third palace of the constellation of Winged Mansion, a thunderous roar echoed throughout heaven and earth, engulfing the entire palace in golden light.
It was a strike from the Jingu Bang, unleashing boundless flames that melted landscapes, evaporated seas, and nearly reduced trees and devils to ashes, leaving only creatures sheltered by immortal power barely alive.
It took a long while for the golden light to fade away.
The earth, emptied of all things, was finally cleared of the black fog that had shrouded the world for tens of thousands of years.
"Thank the Heavenly Emperor!"
The protected beings knelt on the ground, grateful to Sun Wukong.
"Congratulations, Your Majesty, for eliminating yet another threat."
Xuan Yuan approached with a boy to congratulate him.
"There's more to be done, I'll need your help."
Sun Wukong sheathed the staff and spoke.
"Don't worry, Your Majesty."
Xuan Yuan holding the Divine Tree took to the air, and after a while, Auspicious Clouds appeared in the sky, and sweet dew descended from heaven, falling on the earth where greenery sprouted at a visible rate.
"That tree is truly a treasure."
Sun Wukong, watching the vegetation swiftly rise from the ground at his feet, couldn't help but ask the boy, "Do you know where we can find more of it?"
"It can't be found."
The boy, holding the green tree, said, "This Divine Tree from the Hongmeng World nourishes the soil and creates all things; it's something you meet by fate, not by seeking."
Sun Wukong felt a twinge of disappointment.
Suddenly, he felt a premonition and looked up, seeing two streaks of light flying down from beyond the heavens.
"Enemies?"
The boy looked over as well, but his face showed no concern.
With Sun Wukong here, he wasn't afraid of any number of enemies.
"Not enemies."
Sun Wukong smiled, "They're friends."
As the words fell, a graceful figure appeared before them.
"Big Brother."
Ao Luan was about to greet Sun Wukong when her Moon Wheel suddenly shot out, encircling Sun Wukong.
"Long time no see."
Sun Wukong caressed the Moon Wheel, then turned to Ao Luan, "I've been waiting for you for a long time."
"…Yes."
Ao Luan gave her Moon Wheel a stern look.
"You're here too."
Sun Wukong then turned to Emperor Yao who had just landed, "I didn't recognize them wrongly, did I?"
"No."
Emperor Yao replied coldly.
His family was still alive; not all hope was lost.
After a few days of consideration, Emperor Yao decided to collaborate with Sun Wukong.
With the White Robed Venerate no longer in this world, he had no other options but to confront that Venerate.
To protect his hard-won family, he could not afford to back down this time.
"I'd like to have a talk with you."
Emperor Yao said, "There are things you must know."
About the Blood Lotus, about the Brahma Void Heavenly Court, about the Venerates...
Emperor Yao knew that Sun Wukong had many unresolved questions and intended to share what he knew.
"Just in time."
Sun Wukong said, "Let's find a place to talk."
After Xuan Yuan finished his work, Sun Wukong brought everyone back to Fanjing Mountain and began to inquire with Emperor Yao.
Emperor Yao had limited knowledge about the Venerates but was second only to the White Robed Venerate in understanding the Brahma Void Heavenly Court.
"Even without that Blood Lotus, the Heavenly Court can't last forever."
From the mouth of Emperor Yao, a secret even the Bodhisattvas were unaware of was revealed.
"The Venerate had placed a Curse on the Heavenly Court; the stars here would grow increasingly barren. Although not enough to annihilate it, eventually, it could no longer harbor living beings."
Emperor Yao explained, "In the long view, only by transforming the Heavenly Court into the Pure Land can beings continue to live eternally."
The sacrifice of the physical body and the fearless consumption in order to achieve a lasting Heavenly Court and souls.
This was the fundamental reason the White Robed Venerate created the Pure Land.
"So that's how it is."
Xuan Yuan, who had wandered through Chaos for tens of thousands of years, also heard the truth of the Brahma Void Heavenly Court for the first time.
His heart was struck, and he couldn't help but look at Sun Wukong—would this truth shake Sun Wukong's Daoist faith?
However, Sun Wukong's expression remained calm, business as usual, as if he had known all along.
"Your Majesty, did you already know this?"
Xuan Yuan asked.
"I had a feeling."
Sun Wukong replied.
He had sensed the decline of the Brahma Void Heavenly Court, though very slow, it might take tens of thousands of years to become evident.
His perception of time was different from that of the White Robed Venerate.
Such a lengthy time was enough for him to resolve the issue.
"This is a distant concern, but not an imminent threat."
Sun Wukong said, "I want to know about the imminent threats—how much do you understand about that Blood Lotus?"
"Not much."
Emperor Yao shook his head, his expression grave, "But I do know a bit."
He agreed with Sun Wukong's perspective on distant and immediate concerns; the Blood Lotus was an immediate threat.
"The White Robed Venerate turned his body into a Bodhi and possessed Supreme Divine Powers, yet he could not sustain it long-term."
Emperor Yao said, "He was significantly injured in the battle with you, his relics diminished, and I'm afraid in less than two years the Spell would be broken."
"Two years?"
Sun Wukong's expression darkened; did that mean the Blood Lotus would explode in two years?
"Is this true?"
Sun Wukong pressed.
"Indeed."
Emperor Yao nodded.
