[One Week Later.]
[Planet Gaia.]
"Why are we here, Sunny?" Jinx asked, her usual edgy demeanor softened slightly by genuine curiosity as she followed him and Ellen across the desolate landscape.
Ellen stopped where the colossal tree Yggdrasil had once stood, an ancient, powerful place now defined by absence. She turned, facing Sunny and Jinx.
"I brought you both here for something critical," Sunny began, his expression serious. He opened his palm, and a luminous golden card appeared, hovering over his skin.
"This is an Unsealing Card," he explained, pointing to the relic. "It has the power to completely break the seal on Ellen's bloodline." He watched their faces shift into expressions of shock.
Ellen's voice was a barely audible whisper, tinged with fear. "But... what about the dangers, Dad?"
Sunny's gaze was direct, leaving no room for doubt. "The enemy—Lester—already knows you two are here and that you're with me, thanks to the Angel's intervention; we have six months." He spoke with the precision of a drill sergeant.
"So, in these six months, you both must master your bloodlines and reach the peak of the God Rank. When the world restrictions inevitably shatter, you'll both be ready to advance to the First Order. This is the only path."
Jinx looked at Ellen, recognizing the fear in her eyes, then looked back at Sunny. "Can Ellen withstand the full force of her power?" she asked, a genuine concern breaking through her tough exterior.
"Ellen is stronger than any of us know. She's already at the peak of the Celestial Rank," Sunny affirmed, his eyes locking on Ellen's.
"I know she can do it." Then, he turned the question back to Jinx. "But can you withstand your own powers?"
Jinx's confidence instantly returned, bordering on arrogance. "Of course. But doing this will fully unlock my abilities. It'll be safer for you if you're not close by." she said with a challenging smirk.
"Do you even know how to unlock it?" Sunny frowned, Jinx's sudden self-assurance confusing him, though he knew her confidence was often warranted.
"Of course," Jinx nodded, an unsettling sense of inner peace radiating from her.
'Thanks to my second, I know everything I need to know. She will be so happy that I will finally merge with her,' Jinx thought, the idea of unification filling her with a bit of excitement.
'Interesting. So the second entity within her is conscious and directing her.' Sunny observed, his mind filing the information.
"You don't have to worry about me," he assured her, and turned back to Ellen, his voice softening:
"Ready, babygirl?"
Ellen took a shaky, deep breath, exhaled slowly, and then gave a firm nod. The decision was made.
"Okay. Here it goes." Sunny activated the card. It blazed with golden energy and ascended, floating high above Ellen.
A powerful golden light erupted from the card and wrapped around Ellen's body, raising her suspended form into the air. Sunny and Jinx watched as the card dissolved into shimmering light particles, which rapidly merged with Ellen's body.
"Em..." Jinx watched the light intensify, an immense, raw heat radiating outward. "Shouldn't we keep our distance now?" she asked, her earlier confidence momentarily forgotten in the face of the burgeoning power.
"I think so, too."
Sunny rapidly leaped backward, placing himself tens of miles away. Without hesitation, Jinx followed, recognizing the threat instantly.
BOOOOM!!!
The light exploded, an incandescent wave ten times the force of the sun that vaporized everything organic in its path for miles, turning the ruined landscape to glass and ash.
Sunny stood miles away, using his defensive field, staring at Ellen as she slowly descended from the blinding white light. Her form was complete: the two formidable white horns were back on her head, along with two huge, magnificent white dragon wings. She was missing the tail, but the aura of pure power was overwhelming.
Ellen's feet finally touched the ground. The earth beneath her immediately began to glow with a contained, intense light, but her eyes remained closed.
"Wow," Sunny muttered, a look of genuine surprise on his face.
'If I recall correctly, one of the core bloodline advantages grants her complete immunity to magical and elemental attacks.'
To test this theory, Sunny raised a finger, pouring 100% of his current strength into a single attack, manifesting a huge spike made of pure ice and fire.
"What are you doing, Sunny?!" Jinx yelled in shock, recognizing the deadly intent behind the attack.
WHOOSH!!
Sunny launched the twin spikes. They flew at a terrifying speed, converging on the stationary Ellen.
BOOOOM!!
A massive elemental explosion—simultaneous bursts of fire and ice—erupted where the spikes hit. Yet, to the profound shock of both observers, not a single scratch marred Ellen's form. The attacks didn't even touch her; they seemed to be neutralized an inch from her skin.
'She neutralized my strongest elemental attack without even opening her eyes. This is dangerous. As long as I can't inflict physical damage, she is virtually immune to magic and elements,' Sunny thought, filing away the devastating realization of her immunity.
"Can this work?"
Jinx summoned her deadliest weapon, her brilliant silver and red dagger, and with the full, desperate force of her will, she threw it directly at Ellen, aiming precisely for her neck.
"Now! What are you doing?!?" Sunny snapped, his surprise now mixed with true alarm. His attacks were elemental; Jinx's was purely physical. If it struck, Ellen could be gravely injured.
WHOOSH!!!
The dagger screamed through the air toward Ellen.
'Should I stop it? That's a fully starred Grand-Class dagger,' Sunny hesitated for a crucial second, then shook his head.
'No. I need to know her limit. And given Ellen's unique bloodline properties, even Jinx's powerful physical attack might not be enough to truly injure her.' He slowly nodded, allowing the test to proceed.
Sunny and Jinx watched, spellbound, as beautiful white dragon scales began to appear, rapidly encasing Ellen's skin. Just before the dagger reached its mark, Ellen's eyes snapped open. They were no longer human, but pools of brilliant, ancient white light.
'What?! Did my attack force just drop by 50%?' Jinx thought, feeling a sudden, drastic pull on her power as the dagger approached Ellen.
WHOOSH!!
Ellen's hand lashed out to the side in a blur, effortlessly catching Jinx's dagger in her open palm. White, searing light glowed from her grasp, and before their horrified eyes, the powerful, fully-starred Grand-Class Dagger instantly shattered into thousands of irreparable pieces.
"....?!!!"
"What just happened?!"
"She destroyed my dagger with her bare hand?!"
Sunny and Jinx stared at the now-awakened Ellen, their fear completely eclipsed by the awe of witnessing a terrifying, unstoppable new power emerge. The six-month countdown had truly begun.
