World-saving Plan: The Only Savior

Chapter 209: The Monster in the Spaceship (Part 2)

"Ah!!!"

The piercing scream filled the locker room, and the two young astronauts behind immediately turned pale with fear.

"Zilah~"

Like a weightless rag, Maximilian's body was instantly torn in half by those two arms, blood splattering all over the surrounding floor.

The two young men were drenched head to toe.

The initial shock quickly turned into terror, and they no longer cared about anything in front of them as they hurriedly turned to run out the door.

The tall man didn't forget to close the locker room door, trying to buy time for their escape.

"Beep~"

As the electronic sound echoed, the heavy alloy door began to slowly close, moving at a slow speed that made the two anxious.

Fortunately, the monster inside did not immediately burst out.

It only reached out with two hands, pulling at the inner door continuously.

Eventually, the locker room door closed.

At the last moment before closing, the two young men finally saw the true face of the killer.

It was a black monster.

Its entire body was covered in chitin, standing about as tall as an adult man, resembling a mantis from Water Blue Star but many times more menacing.

Just a glance through the door slit sent chills down their spines.

"Alien... Is that an alien!!? Why... Why is there such a thing on our spacecraft!? Isn't that a plot in the movies!"

The short man shouted, nearly breaking down.

The tall man appeared slightly more composed.

He grabbed his companion and ran towards the control room, shutting all the valves along the way to temporarily distance themselves from that dangerous monster.

While running, he kept calling the control room, intending to report what had happened.

However, no matter how he called out, there was no response from the other end of the communicator, as if the information had sunk into the abyss.

A foreboding feeling surged in their hearts, hastening their pace.

They needn't report it; the alarm system in the spacecraft's control room had already sounded the instant the locker room door was torn open.

However, the control room at this moment had no living person.

Four astronauts had long fallen in pools of blood, beside them three identical black insects, burying their heads gnawing on the bodies scattered on the ground.

In the gym, Safury continued to exercise, waiting for Maximilian to arrive.

He had decided to thoroughly teach that jerk a lesson today.

After waiting for about twenty minutes or so, Safury hadn't seen the black deputy captain arrive.

This made him chuckle disdainfully and start contacting the other via communicator, intending to mock the guy fiercely.

"Beep beep beep~"

But the system's waiting tone vanished after a while, and the communication could not be established.

Refusing to give up, Safury dialed a few more times, but the result remained the same, no response from the other side.

"Heh, cowardly rat, he must be scared."

Safury laughed coldly and began training alone.

He worked up a sweat and wiped down his body with a towel.

Just as he was about to shower and change clothes, he heard a rustling sound coming from the door, as if someone was approaching.

"Cowardly ghost, you're finally willing to come? What excuse will you come up with this time? Did you trip while walking, or..."

Safury spoke mockingly.

In his view, no one else but Maximilian would come to the gym at this time.

Just as he was about to finish his words, his gaze caught sight of the figure at the door, and the remaining words stuck in his throat.

His whole body stood there wide-eyed, pupils dilating and then contracting sharply.

It was not the black deputy captain at the door, but a towering two-meter-tall black monster.

"Ah!!!"

A gut-wrenching scream emerged from the gym.

The sound contained intense terror and despair, enough to give anyone hearing it goosebumps.

In the corner of a nearby storage room, Bevin and Reddy were curling up.

Their companions' harrowing cries echoed around them, making their bodies tremble uncontrollably.

They had been hiding here for quite a while.

The main control room was less than twenty meters away, but they dared not approach, nor make the slightest sound.

Because half an hour ago, when they rushed to the control room door, the scene they saw through the observation window above nearly scared their souls out.

In front of the console, four teammates had lost all life, replaced by three monsters identical to the ones before.

In that instant, they realized the New Apollo 1 was finished.

Just one had almost frightened them to death, and now suddenly there were four.

And these were only the ones visible aboard the spacecraft; who knew how many more were hidden elsewhere.

A deep despair enveloped the hearts of these two young men.

The astronaut training did not cover how to handle such situations!

In movies, protagonists can rely on various methods to turn danger into safety.

But they knew, they were not in a movie, nor did they have a protagonist aura.

Aside from hiding now, there was really no other option.

The New Apollo 1 was not like a sci-fi movie with numerous interconnected passages; there was only this single corridor.

Now, for them, it was wolves ahead and tigers behind; they were already sandwiched by the monsters.

Time passed slowly in this unbearable atmosphere, about two hours according to the time displayed on the communicator.

During this period, they hadn't been able to leave the storage room.

Because in the corridor outside, they kept hearing the monsters' low growls from their throats.

Fortunately, their luck held.

The monsters passed by the door several times but did not discover them, only pacing back and forth in the corridor blocking their path.

Occasionally, the monsters would claw at the walls, causing the alloy spacecraft barriers to squeal, a few times nearly scratching the storage room door.

The two broke out in a cold sweat.

If that creature managed to claw at the door, wouldn't it break in within minutes?

"Angel, bless us, Angel, bless us! Make those monsters go away... go away..."

Reddy closed his eyes, muttering softly, sweat dripping down his forehead.

Perhaps having heard his prayer, the footsteps in the corridor gradually moved away, seemingly heading towards the locker room.

"Have they... really left...?"

Reddy glanced at his companion incredulously and cautiously moved to the door.

He first listened carefully for a while, then slowly opened a crack to peer outside.

"They've really left!"

Reddy said excitedly towards the back, then continued examining the situation through the door gap.

"That creature can return anytime, let's leave this place quickly..."

He proposed.

Bevin gritted his teeth, wanting to stay.

But reason told him staying meant death; they might as well take a risk.

If they reach the control room, they could not only alert Water Blue Star but also traverse the rear corridor to access the spacecraft's last equipped Moon rover.

If they get there, they might escape to the safety officer's Moon Base.

The officer has weapons, perhaps they could fight those monsters.
