Mage Legend

Chapter 715: Legends and the Legends in Legends Chapter Twenty-Seven The Meeting of Leaders_3

The spell gradually took effect with his movements, and the abomination's actions became increasingly sluggish. Due to the wounds on its body, its ability to resist magic had been severely weakened. In the face of attacks from these Great Mages, it had no choice but to endure with its resilient flesh.

Lynch, although lying on the ground, was the most clear-headed mage in the place. He neither needed to immediately join the attack nor use any spell to assist the Spell Great Mages—it could very likely be counterproductive, interfering with the original spell's operation. So he took this opportunity to focus on listening to each spell recited by the Great Mages, filtering out the spells he had already learned and expanding his arcane knowledge as much as possible.

Sigel Bey's spell was finally completed, and the abomination had no choice but to end its journey in this world, slowly sinking into the hard earth. If no one used the appropriate spell, it would remain bound until the end of the world. Any mage trying to release it would first need to get as close to the abomination as possible—that is, approach the fiery core of the earth—an act that was suicidal in itself.

At this point, Lynch leisurely climbed up from the ground, brushing off the dust from his body. Although the battle ended quickly, he had lost something important—a Powerful Wand; fortunately, the Undead Magic Bead was minimally affected, only gaining two additional cracks without breaking.

The Great Mages descended from the sky, and the surrounding ruins were indeed shocking. The originally flat stone plaza now resembled land bombarded by dozens of meteorites, with not an intact inch of stone left, all turned to scorched mud. Behind the Great Magic Tower, the originally evergreen forest had turned into blackened stumps, emitting gray smoke even after being burned. The apprentices, seeing peace restored here, gradually returned from outside the Association. They were much better off than the civilians, who were either trapped alive in burning houses or couldn't escape deadly poison gas, struggling and collapsing in the sewage. The apprentices were only injured, leaving varying degrees of wounds based on their mastery of magic, but they would recover—with enough time.

Lynch also felt somewhat fatigued, but this was within his calculations. Back in the Trial Tower, he had thought through what each Great Mage excelled at and any hidden techniques they might possess. He meticulously arranged his spells, leaving enough spells available for each Great Mage. So, he placed the Undead Magic Bead back into his sleeve, then stood up straight and said to the Great Mages, "Does anyone still have objections to me becoming the Head of the Mage Association?"

The Great Mages exchanged glances, realizing that this young man's power was not beneath theirs. Moreover, during the battle that just took place, the Great Mages had even expended more power than this challenger. Kuziman, acting as the "test stone," had already fulfilled his mission well, and the rest had no absolute confidence in defeating Lynch alone.

"Your mastery of spells is astonishing and has reached a very high level," said Ambit, the Protection Great Mage. "However, the wisdom required of a Great Mage is a more important gauge. I do not wish to personally test the power of your spells, but if you can answer a few questions for me, I will no longer hinder you from becoming the Head of the Association."

Lynch thought for a moment and then nodded. "If this can save much conflict, I have no objection. But may I ask, do the other esteemed Great Mages share the same thoughts?"

Caso smiled slightly and said, "The death of one Great Mage is already regrettable, even if he was a coward turned undead. Furthermore, losing two Great Mages in one day would be an unimaginable disaster. I support Lynch, but that will be after he has answered the questions."

"Very fair," Sigel Bey remarked. "I'd like to hear as well."

The remaining mages either did not want to stand in opposition to Lynch and his apprentice or simply did not care who became the head of the Great Mages. They nodded, allowing Ambit to ask his questions.

"Regarding the recent battle, how did you create such an arm that could reflect the Impact Punch without harm?" The Protection Great Mage squinted, staring into Lynch's eyes, then asked, "And how did you escape the clutches of the abomination?"
