Mage Legend

Chapter 716: Legends and the Legends in Legends Chapter Twenty-Seven The Meeting of Leaders_4

These two issues were precisely the critical turning points for Lynch to achieve victory. It was these two moves that disrupted Kuziman's tactical system, leading to the defeat of the Evocation Great Mage. Not only did Ambit want to know the secret behind it, but the other Great Mages were also all ears.

Lynch blinked twice and calmly said, "I did not create a device capable of reflecting Impact Punches, nor do I believe such a thing exists." He enjoyed the surprised expressions of the other Great Mages and then continued, "You all know that identical Spells cancel each other out. And powerful Spellcasters, such as the Great Mages, have mastered a technique which allows them to bounce Spells back instead of canceling them. I did not use my arm to counter the Impact Punch, as I am not some strong brute. What I did was cast another Impact Punch upon my hand and release it at the moment of contact with the opponent's Spell."

"Blinding Technique!" Ambit chuckled softly, confident that it was not a defensive Spell beyond his grasp. This was the best news for him as a Great Mage.

"But how did you escape from the grasp?" Sigel asked, "The Death Abomination is not that easy to handle."

"I was never caught by it. It was just an illusion." Lynch bowed slightly to the Great Mage of Spell as it was indeed this Spellcaster who ended the battle by burying the Abomination. "The dust from the Impact Punch exploding on the ground obstructed Kuziman's vision, so I created a high-level Illusion Technique of a charging punch—or rather, it was a physical avatar. Kuziman misunderstood the power of my punch and naturally had to go all out against my charge. He summoned the Abomination, and I circled behind him."

"What a splendid illusion!" Great Mage Yimite laughed heartily, "Though in hindsight, that avatar had its flaws, in such an environment at the time, I couldn't have done better. Lynch, I have no further objections. Colleagues, do any of you have other thoughts?"

"Although I won't cast a dissenting vote, listen carefully." The Necromancer glared at Lynch, letting a few words slip from the corner of his mouth, "You are still just a youngster. Do not try to command these elders before you. Without appropriate respect, you will not earn respect." The other Great Mages nodded, having no further objections.

"Since that's the case, we now have the first true leader of the Association in history," Caso said, "I foresaw this day coming long ago, but I did not expect it to arrive so soon; nor did I expect to have the honor of meeting this Legendary Great Mage. Now, it is time to hand over the Arcane Wand to the current leader of the Association."

A pink Crystal wand floated out of the Great Magic Tower at Caso's Summoning, flying over to Lynch. This was the Divine Artifact that only the head of the Mage Association could use, symbolizing the unpredictable arcane power.

Initially, Lynch did not understand what was magical about this pink thing, but he realized it only when he held it. As his gaze shifted, the Arcane Wand continuously changed colors, magnificent like a rainbow yet still retaining a simple style. He tried to sense the power contained within the wand, but he found he could not grasp anything substantive. The Arcane Wand was both illusory and real, never fully revealing itself to its user and determining the feedback ability only based on the holder's power. In everyone's eyes, the Arcane Wand was different, and those without the ability to cast Spells could not even see this Divine Artifact.

"Thanks to the support of all the Great Mages, I don't wish to waste words here," Lynch stood the wand beside himself, scanning everyone in the Mage Association with his eyes, then said, "Aside from repairing this place and discussing with Yim about reconstructing the damaged parts of the city, we have more important matters to attend to. Now I announce that the Great Mage Council shall be convened!"

"Hold on, Lynch." Ambit interjected suddenly. He glanced at the Arcane Wand in Lynch's hand, though in his eyes, it was a black Sealing Wand. He cleared his throat and said, "Great Mage Lynch... I just suddenly thought, the Spell that was countered should return to the original Spellcaster. How did you change the direction of the Impact Punch to hit the ground?"

"Now, you can only explore the answer yourself," Lynch replied solemnly and slowly, "because the time to answer questions has passed, and the Great Mage Council is about to convene. Only when we have some free time can we jointly study this issue."

Saying that he lightly leapt and flew towards the Great Magic Tower. The other Great Mages hesitated only slightly before immediately following behind him.
