Infernal Apocalypse [ LitRPG , Non-Human Lead, Lots and lots of Fire ]

226. Gone Was Everything (Book Three End)

Narration

Practically no one on Earth knew about the ants and human farms they were cultivating beneath the surface of the planet. Only the Infernals, a scant few humans who managed to escape from their mandible themed abductions, and of course the local Immortal knew about them.

All of that changed a few years ago when Raizen went to training, and the members of the Black Dawn dived into the underground and began freeing the humans there. Of course, humans showing up out of nowhere as refugees immediately began to raise questions, and it wasn't long before the leaders of all the cities learned of the situation.

Many meetings were held as people learned that there was a chance that friends and family they had previously presumed dead could still be alive. Even if the chances were faint, the fact that a chance existed at all sent waves to all upper leadership of these cities. If not for the Infernals pouring cold water on their efforts, they would've gathered their own forces and stormed into the tunnels themselves.

They were pacified initially, but after a couple years of lull when the Infernals stopped making any real progress and no more humans were rescued for a while, the call to arms was getting stronger and stronger.

But once again, the Infernals denied them all from entering the tunnels. The members of the Black Dawn in particular were fervent in their refusal of any outside interference. The humans didn't like it since it was their people and potentially their families trapped down in the farms.

Unfortunately, the humans knew that they couldn't do anything. The Infernals were the people of the ruler of this planet, and while he hadn't been seen or heard of for a while, the leaders of the cities knew what type of man he was.

Some considered him fair, others considered him a tyrant, but what they all could agree on was that the man did not hesitate to put those who wronged him in their place. Whether it was in the form of a beating, or outright taking your life, there was no hesitation in his actions.

None of them wanted to be on his bad side.

Then a few more years passed, and word of his return made it to the ears of the all the City Lords. Still, no one seen him and was only told by the Steward that he entered the underground to combat the ants.

Shortly after that more and more humans began to pour out of the underground once again. Thousands of them even. Since the Cities were both expecting and hoping for it to happen, they were prepared to accept the influx of people and expand upon the sizes of cities to house all of them.

So, while Raizen wasn't aware of his exact impact, the people above ground were very aware. People kept pouring into the world, and while many didn't even get their names out through the proper channels for organizing and finding families yet, some did and a few of them managed to be reunited with still living loved ones.

Without even being aware, Raizen was slowly becoming a sort of heroic figure among the humans of Earth.

Every time someone was reunited, Raizen's name and his band of Infernals were sung with praises. Every time a human left the underground and once again got to the feel fresh air, bask under the sun, feel the rain on their skin, enjoy the moonlight, people were reminded of Raizen and his Infernals.

Things were looking up on Earth.

And then it happened.

What Raizen didn't know was the voice that he heard had resounded around the entire planet. Every single thing on the planet had heard the voice of the rat man, and as a result almost every single being that wasn't Core Formation or above, felt an immense amount of pain as the rat man made no attempt to restrict his power.

Now all those beneath the Immortal realm felt some level of pain, but its just those at Core Formation and Nascent Soul could handle the effects of it far better than their lessers. But this was only the passive side effects of an Immortal being speaking without a dampener or on their power.

If the rat man where to actively put power in his voice and let it rumble across the planet, there was nothing beneath the Immortal Realm that could resist it without the help of powerful treasures.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Of course, nothing that could do that was present in the hands of the people who needed it at the moment.

Then the situation went from bad to worse. Rats. Massive rats seemingly appeared out of thin air. Most of them landed and immediately dove straight into the ground then began digging their way towards the location of Raizen.

But not all.

A few of them remained, but in this case a 'few' wasn't talking about 10 or even 1000 rats here. In this case, a few meant more than a couple hundred thousand. Thankfully there were still a few Infernals above ground including Ozal himself he was now outfitted with the Eternal Flame, and there were a handful of Core Formation humans around as well.

They helped to mitigate the arrival of the rats a bit, but they weren't nearly numerous enough across the planet to cover for everyone.

People who couldn't even fight back began dying in spades for a few moments, until local Immortal interfered. Unlike with the rat man, only Raizen heard her voice instead of the whole planet.

a planet that was now free from the oppression of Immortal Qi.

They were all still weakened greatly, but at least they could now move freely and fight to defend themselves from the sudden invasion of rats.

The fights went on for a bit, then came a feeling. A feeling that the people of earth will never forget.

If the feeling of the Immortal causing them great pain with just his voice and his unrestrained power was too much to bear or perhaps something they thought they would never forget, then this was far different.

The Infernals still alive in the underground and still present and fighting above ground felt it first. Those of them who were more in tune with Infernal Qi felt it even earlier.

Raizen.

The man was no longer conscious.

This was far different from his battle with the Immortal Vamp. He was angry then, yes, he was distraught then, yes, he was filled with rage and wrath and wanted nothing but to rip the Immortal to shreds, to kill him, to destroy him, to burn him in the Eternal Flame, but he was still conscious.

He was still Raizen even when the Eternal Flame descended within him.

He was no longer Raizen right now.

There was no Raizen. Instead right this second there was nothing but a vessel. A pure and unbridled vessel of chaos and destruction.

Raizen was taught quite a few things by Elder Zal, and Raizen himself has learned and uncovered many different things in his life thus far as an Infernal Patriarch, but there are still so many things out there that he has yet to find out, so many abilities that he has that he has yet to explore.

In fact, what he's doing now is not something he'll even remember. It's also not something he'll properly learn how to do in any short amount of time, but it doesn't change the fact that he is currently doing it.

Raizen…had become the Eternal Flame.

If one were to look up upon him now they wouldn't see the body of a man who looked human and at first glance but was really an Infernal.

No no no that is not what they would see.

They would see a mass of the ethereal black Eternal Flames, the real Eternal Flame, the Eternal Flame that lived within Planet Infernal, the Eternal Flame that all those like Raizen are born from, the Eternal Flame that breathes, lives and embodies chaos and destruction.

That is what Raizen has become.

The Eternal Flame itself.

He rose through the mantle that sat up above his head in the underground. Everything that the Flame came in contact with was burned through as he continued to rise up through the Earth back into the air.

By now he was far from the Infernal district, far from Black Cove City and you, and if he was aware of his presence, he would not know where on Earth he was.

Since he was nowhere near any city.

But knowing where he was at the moment didn't really matter as he continued to rise into the sky. A mass of black and ethereal flames that by now was pressuring the planet since it was currently not capable of holding and maintaining the fabric of space around the Eternal Flame.

Only the void, the ultimate void in between universes could handle this level of unrestrained power, but Raizen did not care for he did not know, he simply continued to rise high into the sky.

He didn't actually leave the atmosphere so he couldn't be seen by all the people of the planet, but no matter where they were or what they were doing every single living being or dead being for that matter on planet Earth could feel the destruction that now clung to it in the air, even if they did not know what it was.

They were feeling the inherent reaction of every being save for Infernals.

Fear.

Infernals were not a war mongering race by trade. As a planet and a species they didn't collectively seek out war, of course individual clans could do what they want, but as a people, that's not what they did.

It was usually only when they were slighted, however small or large it was that became chaos incarnate.

They were neither a good nor an evil people contrary to what a lot of other people thought. Instead they were chaos incarnate, the children of destruction.

It is only right that the power of such beings be feared, so everyone on the planet, save for Infernals who worshiped this feeling instead, felt fear.

At some point the mass of Eternal Flames that was Raizen stopped rising and simply floated.

Then out of nowhere, It was like a trigger went off in the center of the flames and then they exploded like a meteor shower raining down on the planet. Not even a minute later and the entire planet was covered in a blanket of Eternal Flames.

Gone was the sky, gone was the atmosphere, gone was the light from the sun, from the moon or the stars.

Gone was everything and now all that remained was the Eternal Flame.

The world shall know the Eternal Flame.
