Lingwei World.
In this world, Lingwei Buddha is the supreme deity, under whom serve thirty-two Bodhisattvas (Harmonization), eighty-eight Mahayana Arhats (Primordial Spirit), and seven hundred and twenty Small Mahayana Arhats (tribulation crossing).
The Heavenly Court refers to it as Lingwei Heaven, positioned at the higher layers of the world.
Aside from this path of cultivation, there are no other magic veins. Most civilian magic veins consist of ordinary witchcraft or Buddhist incantations.
A burst of golden light flashed, and over seventy people appeared in the forest.
Guu Yuchan glanced at his surroundings the moment he landed and immediately let out a sigh of relief.
"Not bad, luck isn't too bad."
This type of transmigration is random, and the landing location is unknown beforehand. If one were to accidentally land in someone's main base, there'd be nowhere to even cry.
Luckily, fortune smiled.
"Huh? Master?"
Guu Yuchan exclaimed in surprise, as Song Lin appeared beside him.
"After much thought, I decided that I should personally come."
Song Lin had his own plans for coming here.
Introducing the Buddhist Sect into the Heavenly Court enriches the magic veins, but it carries the risk of overshadowing the hosts.
Maybe leading them personally?
Based on intelligence provided by Fazang, this world isn't part of orthodox Buddhism—it should be just a branch.
Orthodox Buddhism consists of the Three Great Sect Leaders: the Past Buddha Randeng Buddha, Present Buddha Tathagata, and Future Buddha Maitreya.
Of course, Buddhism isn't limited to these few Buddhas. There are three thousand Ancient Buddhas led by Randeng, and there are many more unknown, unnamed Buddha Bodhisattvas.
While they might occupy mere lines in books, every Buddha is real, having climbed to their status with their own influence. Great Sun World Venerable is likely one of them.
If guessed correctly, this individual likely cultivates the Buddhist Law from the era of ancient ascetic monks—a time before Shakyamuni and the Three Great Sect Leaders emerged.
Their theoretical foundation is relatively crude and doesn't belong to the lineage led by the Three Great Sect Leaders.
If this is the case, Song Lin might have an opportunity to poach talents.
"Master, what should we do next?"
Guu Yuchan's voice interrupted Song Lin's thoughts.
"First, settle down and avoid revealing any divine skills. Establish roots here. Ah, right," Song Lin added, "We won't be allowed to return, so we need to prepare our own materials to construct an Array, only then can we return to our original world."
Song Lin's arrival was partially for this reason.
Cultivators are not very proficient in Arrays. They struggle to master deeper-level Arrays, let alone those capable of crossing into the Otherworld.
Additionally, Song Lin came here with specific goals in mind, which is why he sent an Avatar.
This Avatar was forged with essence blood, making it nearly indistinguishable from the original body.
If it gains insight into anything, the original body can easily sense and comprehend it as well.
"Let's go, have a look around."
Song Lin arrived at a mortal city.
It was his first time observing other Heavenly Courts in the Real World.
He wondered how it compared to his Kunlun Heavenly Court.
With over seventy people in the group, Song Lin instructed some to leave and settle in remote towns to resolve their background issues, then regroup in the city.
"Rama City."
Song Lin and Guu Yuchan stood at the city gates, gazing at the bustling crowd.
"It's not quite what I imagined. A Buddha Country doesn't necessarily mean everyone is bald," Song Lin joked.
The pedestrians' adornments and attire were similar to those in other worlds, but upon closer inspection, there were noticeable differences.
The clothing's patterns included many Buddhist elements, as did the accessories like Buddha pendants, Buddha statues, and scripture reels.
The streets were not very clean—to put it bluntly, it was a flood of filth.
The shops were run-down, pedestrians looked gaunt with yellowish skin; it resembled the conditions during Wu Country's era.
Temples were the most prevalent structures.
"Southern Dynasty has four hundred and eighty temples, how many pavilions in the misty rain," Song Lin finally understood the scene described in that poem.
Everywhere were believers, incense smoke permeated all.
Many people went bankrupt to worship the gods and Buddhas; even beggars who couldn't afford proper meals would offer their last remaining coins.
All believers showed unwavering faith, longing to ascend to the Pure Land as soon as possible.
It wasn't merely a myth—the Pure Land indeed existed in the heavens. Those lacking enlightenment generally couldn't ascend; only through fervent devotion and offerings could mortals potentially gain access upon death; otherwise, they remained trapped in the eternal sea of suffering in reincarnation.
"Their food, clothing, and everything seem so crude? It looks like the Buddhist Sect here isn't skilled at governance," Guu Yuchan remarked.
"Cultivators possess vast divine skills; how could they possibly fail to manage the streets? It's simply willful neglect—or perhaps they have an intention to maintain this state," Song Lin replied.
Soon after, the pair settled in the city. They worked as waiters in a tavern to gain deeper insights into this world's customs.
Lingwei World venerates Lingwei Buddha.
It is divided into the Pure Land, Hell, and Mortal World—the Three Realms.
The righteous ascend to the Pure Land, while the wicked descend to Hell.
In the mortal world, social hierarchy is rigid: the royal family remains the royal family, and commoners remain commoners. There's no system of imperial examinations in this realm.
It is as stagnant as a dead pond; no matter how harsh life is, people refuse to rebel, holding steadfast hope for the next life. The more they suffer in the present, the more firmly they believe their rewards in the next life will multiply.
"Madness, absolute madness."
Guu Yuchan had just served tea to a customer when he transmitted secretly to Song Lin from a corner.
"What's mad?"
"These people are insane. If we want to preach here, it's impossible—they'll report us at any moment, the risk is too high."
"Preaching here? Why would that be difficult? Other sects manage fine. Layman Sect, Ming King Sect, Mountain View Sect, Joyful Zen, Alcohol Meat Sect—they all do it."
Buddhist Sect isn't composed only of bald monks; there are plenty of sects where practitioners keep their hair, drink, eat meat, or even marry women.
"But we're Taoists. They'd never accept Taoist teachings."
"Then just join them."
"Join…" Guu Yuchan chuckled wryly, "I don't have a trace of Zen aura nor Buddha Light from Lingwei Mountain's Spirit Platform. I'd show my hand the moment I speak."
"You don't need to—I'll join myself. Once I establish my sect, you can join in later."
Song Lin planned to package himself with Randeng Buddha's philosophy.
In this world, Randeng Dharma is considered Superior Buddhism.
On one hand, he would absorb Buddhist disciples from this realm; on the other, he would covertly grow the Cultivation Method under its guise.
"You can preach to those dissatisfied with the current state—I refuse to believe there aren't people unhappy with this society."
After staying for some more days, the two earned quite a bit of copper coin.
One day, an elderly monk arrived for tea.
The monk was from a nearby temple on Wuchao Mountain, going by the name Yihe.
Yihe was highly respected, and people along the way would offer him alms. Just as Yihe was about to ask for some broth from the tavern—
"Huh? A bright Spirit Platform, layers of lotus shadows. This youth carries a profound Buddha nature."
The monk's remark referred to none other than Song Lin.
Thereafter, Song Lin followed Yihe to practice at Wuchao Mountain's temple, becoming Yihe's final disciple.
Three years passed.
Song Lin progressed rapidly, condensing Buddha Light at his brow within a month, even using Buddha Light to cast Spells. In three years, he entered the Third Zen Realm (Core Formation), matching Yihe's level.
His extraordinary talent stunned the other disciples.
The following year, Yihe ascended to the Pure Land, transferring his role as abbot to Song Lin before leaving.
Song Lin became the new Wuchao Zen Master, adopting the Dharma name Ding Guang.
