Monster Chronicles: My Daoist Skill Comes from Mythology

Chapter 564: Loess Breath Soil Karma EffectCompletion

Seven Buddha's Heavenly Court.

Pure Land of Great Bliss.

At the center of the world lies a pool of water, crystal-clear and pristine. Pearls, agates, clams, lapis lazuli, and other precious gems are visible at the bottom.

The pool emanates an aura of sanctity and vitality.

On the water's surface, clusters of lotus flowers bloom. The lotuses vary in size, with some budding and yet to bloom.

Among the fully bloomed lotuses emerge figures—these are true Heavenly Humans, born fully formed and mature, possessing vast reservoirs of knowledge from the start.

Compared to them, Heavenly Humans of other worlds are mere counterfeits, utterly insignificant in comparison.

The Heavenly Humans of the Great Sun Pure Land are born with a minimum cultivation level of Core Formation.

Their births are exceedingly rare, and even after accumulating efforts for countless years, the Great Sun World Venerable has only brought forth fifty thousand of them.

At the very center of the Lotus Pond lies a single lotus with a color as pure as white jade.

The Ten Thousand Ancient White Lotus, one of the Seven Treasures of the Great Sun World Venerable—this lotus holds the capability to nurture even more powerful Heavenly Humans.

The lotus slowly unfurls, revealing at its center a figure—a bald, bronze-skinned man of robust stature, transformed from the lotus seed. He retains the cultivation level and mana he possessed in his previous life.

The Lingwei Buddha Ancestor opened his eyes, instantly grasping the entirety of the situation.

"Where is my relic? Where have all my Divine Skills gone? Why am I left with so little?"

The Lingwei Buddha Ancestor examined his physical body, exclaiming in shock.

"You're fortunate to have retained your cultivation level; as for the rest… you can slowly regain them over time."

The Great Sun World Venerable emerged amidst radiant light.

"Now, recount the events that transpired."

After hearing Lingwei's account, the Great Sun World Venerable realized that this was the individual he had long sought—a being as powerful as he had envisioned.

Regrettably, this person was not aligned with his side.

"So, this Shenxiao Heavenly Emperor, Eastern King, only comprehended the Buddha Fruit upon arriving here?"

"Precisely."

Lingwei appeared disheartened.

His entire Taoist Realm ultimately served as another's stepping stone; the current circumstances were far worse than before.

This body felt like an empty shell.

It reminded him of a swordsman who had lost both his treasure sword and memory of sword techniques—a body brimming with True Qi but devoid of purpose, a state akin to Lingwei's predicament now.

"Do you wish for revenge?"

"Yes, I dream of it."

"The time is not yet ripe."

In the preceding days, the Great Sun Buddha Ancestor had attempted to trace Song Lin's whereabouts, but the other had hidden so thoroughly that his Small Thousand World remained undiscovered.

Nevertheless, with sufficient time, Song Lin would eventually be found.

Emperor Yi's World.

The universe lay desolate, with every civilization left in ruins. Most people had been sacrificed.

A small number were taken as slaves.

The sacrifices were not limited to celestial offerings; Emperor Yi employed human sacrifices extensively, utilizing strong individuals as vessels in rituals, absorbing and channeling the power of offerings into them.

Depending on the vessel's physique, some absorbed the energy from dozens of sacrifices, while others processed hundreds. When fully consolidated into one person, they would become the qualified Taoist Soldiers.

At this moment, Emperor Yi's Heavenly Court was encircled by thirty million such Taoist Soldiers, each towering at ten zhang in height and exuding an imposing aura.

At the constellation's center stood a blood-soaked high altar constructed from piled white bones. Atop the altar rested a jade box, with a pinch of yellow soil the size of a thumb nestled within—brimming with primal Great Dao essence, enigmatic and indescribable.

Above the heavens, masses of black Qi coalesced into a swirling vortex, as though something profound was brewing within.

A surging power unintentionally leaked out, causing the entire universe to tremble.

Below the sacrificial altar, Emperor Yi observed the spectacle with satisfaction.

This was the aura of their progenitor Cheng Tang, the founder of the Yinn Shang Heavenly Court.

Cheng Tang had reached the True Immortal Peak, just one step shy of ascending to the Immortal Golden Immortal tier.

Within his body resided a self-contained universe; even a casual blow from him could obliterate a Small Thousand World.

If Cheng Tang were to strike, no matter how their opponents resisted, they ultimately could not escape his grasp.

West Zhou Heavenly Court.

The master of the Heavenly Court, Ji Dan, remained seated firmly upon the throne of Qi Mountain, guarding every direction of the heavens.

His principles of ritual extended across three universes, affecting all beings—from Immortal Gods to mortals. These rituals not only spread far but also fueled his cultivation growth.

After nearly a thousand years of cultivation, Ji Dan's powers had advanced to the late-stage Harmonization Realm.

This level of achievement, pioneering an entirely new Great Dao, was a testament to his incredible talent.

Within the Palace of the Polestar, myriad Immortals gathered.

Seated to the left was Emperor Ziwei, Bo Yikao (erroneously referred to as Ji Dan earlier), the ruler of the stars and the Emperor of Central Heaven.

The next row down featured Emperor Wenchang, Ji Chang, and Emperor Wuchang, Ji Fa.

Following them were various Emperor Lords, True Monarchs, Star Lords, and other prominent figures, including Wen Zhong, Jiangg Ziya, Yangg Jian, Luohun Luobao, the Sea of Blood, Northern Marquis, Ghost Marquis, Southern Marquis, and so forth.

Standing as the strongest Heavenly Court, it even surpassed the Real World in prowess.

After all, within this celestial domain, most individuals already possessed cultivation levels before joining the Heavenly Court. Song Lin merely had to convert these levels using the Taiyi Jinhua Scripture.

Before long, Hou Yi and the Turquoise Pool also joined, completing the assembly of the Three Realms and Five Emperors.

Ji Chang, noting their arrival, shared his perspective: "Emperor Yi's Heavenly Court overflows with Demonic Qi. Delaying further would likely bring harm to us."

"Then let us seize the moment for a full-scale assault and achieve swift victory,"

Hou Yi decided resolutely.

The protracted conflict had lingered for far too long, spanning thousands of years and exhausting significant resources.

The Yinn Shang Heavenly Court abounded in myriad Evil Skills, and even West Zhou's inability to summon the Queen Mother only underscored their necessity to break through on their own.

The forces of West Zhou mobilized their entire army to confront Emperor Yi's Heavenly Court upon the Ancestor Star.

The journey was fraught with desolation, fractured stars, collapsed civilizations, and countless white bones drifting across the void.

"The Shang dynasty heavily employs sacrifices. Judging from the scale, it appears they are fully committed this time."

Though the army had mentally prepared themselves beforehand, witnessing the cruelty of the Yinn Shang firsthand nonetheless left them momentarily struck by its horror.

Perhaps the majority of Immortal Gods across the heavens were alike in their ruthlessness.

Immortal Gods possessed endless lifespans, while mortals lived for short hundreds of years. Often, millions of mortals would be born and perish as Immortal Gods slept through centuries.

Such inexpensive "cultivation materials" were used freely and without remorse.

Hou Yi bitterly remarked, "It's not just the Yinn Shang; many Heavenly Courts share the same disregard—these Witch Ghosts rarely practice benevolence. Such remnants of the Six Heavenly Old Qi are rampant across All Heavens and Myriads of Worlds."

The Donghua Dao stands as the purest exception.

Its official Heavenly policies forbid such practices, preventing any Immortal Gods from pursuing such a dark path of cultivation.

Moreover, it is the sole faction committed to cultivating Merit Immortals, barring ascension to Immortal rank without adequate merit accumulation.

Even defectors from other Heavenly Courts, such as those within West Zhou's ranks, had spent years repaying their karmic debts before being reappointed titles.

Soon, the army reached the Ancestor Star, where a pitch-black world loomed. The eerie silhouette of a bronze palace, partly embedded in murky yellow soil, hovered faintly within the void.

The palace appeared to exist partially within another realm beyond the current world.

"Breath soil? That vile man truly possesses breath soil," Ji Chang gasped in astonishment.

"Forget the breath soil; crush him first and ask questions later,"

Hou Yi declared as he pulled his bowstring taut. His golden divine arrow, imbued with a force capable of vanquishing all laws, shot forward. He then led the army in charging toward the Heavenly Court.

Ji Fa and the West Zhou generals followed closely behind.

From within the palace surged countless troops, and one figure—his body inscribed with sinister black tadpole-script—reached out to catch the divine arrow midair, snapping it into shards.

Emperor Yi, crowned and clad in royal garments, sneered derisively at the advancing allied forces. His gaze carried an unmistakable mockery.

"Is this the best you can muster?"

Emperor Yi exhaled a breath of black Qi.

The black Qi materialized into countless skulls, fiery green lights glowing ominously within their sockets, spewing sulfuric flames as they charged toward the allied forces with bloodcurdling shrieks.

These were the manifestations of the Curse Path.

Any sentient being—through what they saw, heard, felt, or even thought—could become tainted by the curse.

Many warriors saw their flesh begin to rot, their spirits falter, and their hearts consumed by raging cruelty, leaving them unable to distinguish friend from foe.

Ji Dan called forth the Nine Tripods, enveloping the army in a pure white radiance.

This was the Expansive Righteous Qi.

The Nine Tripods then transformed into the Five Mountains and pressed toward Emperor Yi's manifestation.

One must cultivate oneself before bringing order to the world.

The Immortals joined forces and unleashed their attacks in an overwhelming tide. Even Emperor Yi could not withstand such an onslaught.

Faced with the torrential downpour of conjured spells, Emperor Yi laughed derisively rather than retreating in fear.

Behind him, the swirling black vortex had completed its formation, releasing tendrils of potent energy.

BOOM!

In an instant, the vortex erupted, sending tendrils of black Qi scattering chaotically.

The accumulated resentment of the world boiled over in a furious torrent. Across Emperor Yi's ranks, Taoist Soldiers erupted into rage, black Qi spewing from their mouths.

This was resentment, Demonic Qi, and Evil Qi.

All these energies converged into a single Black Lotus.

The Black Lotus embodied endless malice and wickedness.

Both sides harbored the same thought: "Does the enemy truly possess such a powerful ally?"

From the midst of the Black Lotus emerged a black-robed man.

"Master!"

"Eastern King!"

The gathered Immortals cried out.

Their emotions swung from despair to hope in an instant.

"So, you must be Emperor Yi?"

Song Lin, bearing the title of Wutian, gazed at Emperor Yi.

Song Lin had not just arrived by chance; upon entering this realm, he detected its pervasive aura of resentment and decided to lie in ambush, waiting to sabotage Emperor Yi's plans.

Now, with the vortex destroyed, their opponent had lost the means to retaliate.

Before Emperor Yi could respond, he was engulfed by an overwhelming darkness.

Against the evil origin aspect, his curse magic failed to hold sway.

BOOM!

"Even in death, I will drag you down with me!"

Emperor Yi roared venomously, detonating his entire being in a burst of wrath.

The explosion unleashed black Qi across the surrounding star domain, reducing it to void.

Song Lin turned back to shield the others.

One lingering fragment of Emperor Yi's spirit escaped, merging with the bronze palace to flee into the chaos of the void.

At this moment, Song Lin seized the bronze palace and tore away its foundation, leaving only a portion to drift alongside Emperor Yi's remnant soul.

As Song Lin prepared to pursue him, he suddenly halted.

"The karma has been completed?"
