Knock, Knock, Knock!
"Huh? Who's at my door disturbing my fun?" A voice from inside the room thundered in anger as he wanted to continue his activity with the female escort beneath him, but the knock kept persisting over and over again.
"Damn it!" The man thundered as he angrily stood off from the woman, put on his clothes and walked toward the door.
With his face reddened in rage, he swung the door open only to see a figure standing in front of him, scales on his face and arms, fangs bared with a pair of short horns curling from his hair.
"Yes? How can I help you?" The man swiftly calmed down as he realised that the person in front of him was likely a hybrid.
"Good evening sir, I'm here to tell you to kindly vacate this room, and not just this room, the whole building." The person who turned out to be Max said as he stared at the man with a small smile on his face.
"The hell?! Who the hell do you think you are to tell me something like that? I paid for this room in full and I intend to make use of my money, so shooo!" The man shouted as he glared at Max.
"Sir, it's urgent, your life and the lives of the other people in this building is at risk, something destructive is about to happen…" Max paused as he heard a loud shout from behind him. He and the man turned around to see that Jim had knocked on all the other doors, drawing every single person out.
There were about twenty rooms in the hallway and all twenty rooms had been knocked on. The men all came out with their escorts, fuming and annoyed as Jim tried his best to explain the situation.
"You must have felt the quake and rumbling from earlier?" Max asked as he turned to stare at the man in front of him. "Well, that was just a premise of something worse, so kindly evacuate this place."
"And you think I care? That damn rumbling interrupted me from climaxing earlier and now you are interrupting me again? I won't leave until I'm satisfied, so get lost!" The man shouted as he proceeded to slam his door.
But before it could shut, Max placed his palm on it, stopping it from moving an inch. His teeth ground back and forth as he could hear the other customers protesting and shouting about refunds, ruined nights and wasted money.
"I have had enough of being nice," Max muttered coldly, his aura spilling out in waves and instantly causing the men to freeze in place. He forcefully pushed the door that was about to close and a loud bang echoed through the hallway as the whole door was ripped off its hinges and hurled far into the room.
"Listen up everybody," Max shouted as his claws were now on full display. He snapped his fingers and instantly, dozens of fireballs appeared in the hallway, hovering in the air like glowing death threats. The escorts screamed in fright and clung to the walls while the men shuddered, their bravado evaporating in seconds.
"I wouldn't have cared about you all. Honestly, I came here to do what I needed to do, so casualties would not have bothered me. But Ava Blue, the owner of this establishment, actually cares about your lives. She asked me to evacuate you all before what's coming hits.
And if you decide to act stubborn, I will burn you all to ash and lie to her that you got evacuated. Make your choice." Max threatened, his eyes glowing bright yellow as he stared at everybody. Jim stood aside with his arms crossed and a wide grin on his face, enjoying every second of the chaos unfolding.
Some of the men gulped loudly, others trembled, and a few began edging toward the staircase, suddenly remembering they valued their lives more than whatever fun they had been having moments ago.
"Come on, let's leave." One of the men shouted as he bolted away, and the female escorts all dashed off, screaming in horror. The customers quickly grabbed their belongings and made a break for it, tripping over chairs and each other in their desperation.
"Tch!" Max scoffed as he waved his hands, making the fireballs disappear while glaring at the customers fleeing like their lives depended on it. "Come on, we need to evacuate those downstairs drinking and partying before we continue with the plan."
"Sure." Jim replied, and with that, the duo dashed downstairs to see the men and women from earlier still screaming as they scrambled toward the exit like headless chickens.
Those partying downstairs paused in confusion as the blaring music suddenly halted. They all turned toward the staircase only to see two men calmly walking down as if they owned the entire place.
"Do you all need an invitation before you run?" Max shouted as he twirled his hand and a blazing fireball appeared, glowing brightly and casting flickering light across the room.
Without hesitation, he hurled it at a table filled with bottles, and the moment the fireball made contact, everything exploded into flames. Alcohol splashed, fire surged, and the entire spot went up instantly, causing everyone to scream their lungs out as they finally started running for their lives.
In less than five minutes, the whole building became completely empty except for the last floor where Ava was still undergoing her painful evolution.
With a tired sigh, the duo stepped outside to see the streets now slightly empty except for a few scattered individuals walking around. The streetlights cast long shadows, painting the whole place in a quiet, eerie glow that made everything feel more tense than usual.
The entire area was massive. Wide enough for fifty people to walk side by side or wide enough for a full-scale fight to break out without anyone having to worry about tight spaces. It was an ideal battlefield, and Max already knew it.
"Come on, let's proceed with drawing those bastards from wherever they are." Max said as his wings burst out from his back with a loud snap.
The sudden sound made those still going about their business pause, turn around and freeze as they saw a man standing proudly with a pair of beautiful red wings flaring in the air. His cold gaze made a few people step back in fear.
"Hold on tight." Max muttered as he grabbed Jim, and with a single flap of his wings, they were already in the air, rising higher with impressive speed.
He didn't stop there. Thanks to his system skill, he was able to soar even higher until he landed on the roof of the establishment they had come out from.
There were no other tall buildings around since this was the red light district. That made the establishment both the shortest and the tallest structure in the area at the same time. The duo stood on the roof before Max retracted his wings back into his body with another loud snap.
"You know how to do it?" Max asked as he stared at Jim, who had his eyes closed, focusing intensely and feeling inside his own body.
"Based on what you said, I will try my possible best to not disappoint you." Jim replied with his eyes still closed.
"Good." Max said as he turned toward his system screen and navigated through the skill tab until he opened the talent tab.
[Draconic Aura Activated]
In an instant, the air shuddered. The humans down below could not see it, but they definitely felt it as a wave of Draconic energy silently flooded the atmosphere. Invisible to others, the energy seeped out slowly and began encasing half the entire area around them.
'It's not enough, we need it to cover at least half the town. Luckily, Ava's establishment is at the far end of the town, so from here, we should be able to let the aura spread deeper.' Max thought as he closed his eyes and focused harder, pushing his aura forward like a rising tide.
"I got it!" Jim shouted, and in the next moment, his own aura burst out with full force, shaking the air even more.
"Time to lure these rats out." Max grinned widely as both his aura and Jim's aura continued spreading across the area, merging and expanding without restraint. The pressure was rising, and without a doubt, their combined aura would reach the entire town soon.
