Chapter 583: Robe of Representations
“Elland Garden Stigmata Sorcerer.”
In the heart of the fortress, Grimm bowed down to the Stigmata Sorcerer on the screen.
On the massive screen, the Stigmata Sorcerer, Elland Garden, seemed to be flying while holding a tame blood-coral creature like one would with a pet cat.
Facing him were a pair of eyes brimming with intelligence, wisdom and assertiveness. Initially, Grimm tried to read the nuances in his gaze but it was all too overwhelming. Soon, he found himself lowering his head and staring at the floor instead.
“Demon-Hunter Sorcerer Grimm? What was so urgent that you had to contact me through the Fortress Heart?”
Elland Garden stared inquisitively at Grimm as he asked the question. Petals drifted out from his right hand, drowning out the three-meter-long blood-coral creature, whose body was covered in fiery-red scales, that was accompanying him in him travels.
Grimm took in a deep breath and replied, “I have issued the command to annihilate the Grand Peak Magnetite Star. The war has begun and is entering a cataclysmic stage.”
“What!?”
The doubt in Elland Garden’s eyes made itself clear through the sudden outburst of Elemental Light.
Boom!
Just as Grimm opened his mouth to speak, a sudden deafening explosion interrupted their session. Even within the deepest reaches of the Void Fortress, where the Battle Command laid, the explosion sounded so near it was surreal. A few of the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers tasked with observing the process of war quickly ran over to hand to Grimm a crystal ball recording.
After glancing through the recordings, Grimm once again raised his head and continued in a serious tone, “The Grand Peak Magnetite Star has been destroyed by the Prodigious Shatterer paired with a relentless offensive campaign by the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers. For now, it has been split into two pieces. Based on our estimation, the war will end in five hourglasses. The Grand Peak Magnetite Star will collapse once and for all.”
Ugh…
Suddenly, Grimm could somehow feel Elland Garden burning intensely. Was he angry?
“Demon-Hunter Sorcerer Grimm!”
Elland Garden Stigmata Sorcerer’s voice sounded cold and harsh. His words sounded as if they were squeezed out from between his gritted teeth. Even from the screen, Grimm could not help but feel intimidated from the unexpected shift in his mood.
“I’ll give you two months’ time to prepare however you can to persuade me. You better pray hard that before my return, Grand Peak Starlight doesn’t receive recognition from the Principal Will and ascend as a World Lord. Otherwise, you’ll have to prepare to face judgement by the Sorcerer Coalition.”
After saying so, Elland Garden changed the direction in which he was travelling and could now be seen rapidly descending in a downward direction.
The Sorcerer Coalition!
The Sorcerer Coalition was the organisation that stood above the Holy Tower organisations as it represented the culmination of the Sorcerers World’s power and will. To hand him over to face harsh but fair judgement by the coalition’s laws was mainly to express the body’s will, which in this case, was to calm down the raging fire of Grand Peak Starlight.
Even amidst his fury, Elland Garden continued to speak calmly with elegance, perhaps even hinting his intention to cut Grimm a bit of slack. In other words, he intended to go all out to prevent Grand Peak Starlight from being recognised by the World’s Principal Will.
“Grandmaster, rest assured, I will definitely give you a satisfactory answer in two months’ time.”
Grimm’s voice indicated his unrivalled confidence, which took the Stigmata Sorcerer, who was unable to decipher from where Grimm had gained this much confidence from, aback for a moment.
“Hmph. Let’s hope things turn out as you imply. As a Dark Demon-Hunter, I hope that you understand the true meaning behind our Demon-Hunting Expeditions.”
Having said so, Grand Elland Stigmata Sorcerer cut off his connection with the Fortress Heart.
Grimm was deep in a reverie in the Fortress Heart. He stared soullessly at the blank screen where Elland Garden once was, his gentle words right before the transmission ended continued echoing through Grimm’s mind.
Even the elite Demon-Hunter Sorcerers of the Battle Command standing beside him were awe-struck by that profound statement.
The true meaning of the Demon-Hunting Expedition?
Demon-Hunting Expedition.
The “hunting” part, referred to hunting down and killing targeted individuals. “Demon” on the other hand, referred to the Phaseless Ancient Demons of the Abyssal World. “Expedition” refererd to the Celestial Sorcerers who had discovered the Sorcerers World’s path toward impending doom, and from there, they forged an intricate plan for the Sorcerers World to return to its prehistoric coordinates.
The remnant of Sorcerers who survived the ancient wars hoped that through the Sorcerers World’s World-Core and the Seven-Color Spacetime Seal, the march toward Armageddon would slow down. And with the full brunt of the Sorcerers World’s powers, it would return to its rightful position where the Sorcerers would go on the offensive, develop and show their world’s might.
There would come one day, before the Sorcerers World were to collapse, when the Sorcerer Coalition would use all the strength it had gathered to fight a final war with the Abyssal Civilisation, in order to get its hands on the dawn of hope, to save the Sorcerers World from its fated destruction.
This was the true meaning behind the Demon-Hunting Expeditions as the Celestial Sorcerers had put it.
However, in the eyes of the short-sighted official Sorcerers, each time a Void Fortress descended upon a Foreign World, it was nothing but a chance for one to grow stronger and to better adapt to the expedition’s requirements. What they saw was seemingly restricted to the Sorcerer beside them who would plunder the original world’s resources and forcibly exert the Sorcerer Coalition’s civilisation laws on the native races.
Many of the Sorcerers had long forgotten the true purpose for the Demon-Hunting Expeditions.
“Caw? The true meaning of Demon-Hunting Expeditions? Why, of course it’s to strike back at the Abyssal Civilization who had taken over the turf of the Ancient Sorcerers, caw caw caw caw caw.”
Myna said profoundly, before bursting into an uncontrollable fit of laughter.
Three hourglasses later.
Boom!
Under the ruthless attack by tens of thousands of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers as well as the behemoth Voidships, one half of the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, which had been split into two, had now begun falling toward the ground.
A blinding ray of light shot into the heavens followed by an ear-splitting sound wave that swept across the land.
On the ground, massive cracks had started appearing and a rippling effect could be observed spreading toward the horizon in Grimm’s vision. It was as if the whole world’s surface was an empty wheatfield that was being re-plowed, which reminded Grimm of the geo-plate cataclysm in which a few of the Stigmata Sorcerers had joined powers to create back in the Infernal Spirit World.
Countless species of plants and animals were buried alive underneath the heer volume of soil that was upturned. Following the cosmic blast, a mushroom cloud of dust that followed rose so high into the atmosphere that it even reached the chaotic layer.
The most terrible thing was not the collapse of the Magnetite Star itself, but the thousands of giant Magnetite Stones and Magnetite Islands that had all lost their center of orbit in an instant. They fell like rocks from the sky, plummeting toward the ground, crushing everything in their path.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom…
The series of dull-sounding explosions never seemed to end. At that moment, it really looked like the end of the world.
And after another hourglass, the other half of the Grand Peak Magnetite Star finally fell.
The second ear-shattering explosion echoed through this world, it was as if it was the accumulation of all the tears the Magnetite people had hed. And yet, their mournful sounds were drowned out by the celebratory cheers of the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers.
The Demon-Hunter Sorcerers were cheering victoriously.
The evolutionary pathway of the many races in the Endless World diverged as such. One race would celebrate their foundation while the other would cry out bitterly in defeat.
“You evil Sorcerers! You’ve betrayed the master who summoned your descent!”
“We will have our revenge! Magnetite…”
The final Magnetite person fell before the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers. With the exception of a few Sorcerers picking up specimens to be experimented with, most of the others had already disappeared alongside the dissipation of energy waves from the spell attacks.
On the other side, the architect of this disaster, Grimm, brought Little Myna and left the Void Fortress. For now, he floated high up in the sky, observing the artwork he had created in this world.
After so many years, the Magnetite invaders from an unknown faraway world would now be sealed into history alongside the final fragments of this world’s ancient will!
Grimm’s surroundings gradually began to fill up with pearl-like droplets of water that refracted light perfectly. His silhouette then started to grow blurry, and soon, he seemed almost transparent as if he was fading away from reality.
“Such a wonderful material, it is truly a legacy befitting of the Level-6 creature, the Ancient Sevenfold Rainbow! To be able to refract light in such a manner, one could easily achieve perfect invisibility in the perception of the real-life creatures. This truly is the perfect material that I have dreamed of to create the Robe of Representations with!”
Grimm said excitedly, as if he had seen the future of what his robe would look like. Paired with the Mask of Truth, he would become a Sorcerer who would be passed down in legends for generations.
Little Myna kept flying in and out of the barrier of water droplets, experiencing the essence of the Sevenfold Rainbow’s legacy, feeling what it was like to be invisible to creatures that used visual perception.
“Caw caw caw, Young Master, to use a single beam of the Eternal Dominator’s Light, which even the Stigmata Sorcerers could not obtain, to exchange for such an exquisite material, our third item for the Truth series will soon be completed, caw caw caw caw caw.”
The Mask of Truth, The Book of Truth, and the soon-to-be Robe of Representations were what Little Myna was referring to.
