Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 480: Back on Track (Part 2)

"What's his name?"

"Rodney Jacob."

"Do you know any other clues about Rodney Jacob? Like contact information or his home address?"

"I know his Facebook. I added him, we're friends now. He's quite a talkative guy."

Luke affirmed, "This clue is very important; can I take a look at his Facebook?"

"Of course."

Park Jaeyoung took out his phone and found Rodney Jacob's Facebook.

He was a black guy in his twenties, tall and strong, with a big smile and a mouth full of white teeth.

Luke clicked open his personal posts, and so did Little Black alongside.

Most of these posts were taken at school, with quite a few photos of football training.

There were also some family photos.

Little Black pointed at a family photo and said, "The background of this picture looks familiar." He took the phone and enlarged the picture to examine it closely. "That's right, this background looks just like the Mormon community where Isa Redman's party schoolmates are located."

Luke also took a close look at the photo, which seemed to be taken in Rodney Jacob's yard, meaning Rodney Jacob also lived in the Mormon community.

This just explained why the police didn't find any suspicious vehicles in the surveillance, because Isa Redman might not have taken a ride but went directly to Rodney Jacob's house.

Park Jaeyoung gritted his teeth and said, "Did Rodney Jacob kidnap Isa Redman? Why would he do that?"

Luke glanced at him, thinking he probably had a crush on Isa Redman, considering his age and tendency to act impulsively.

Luke explained, "We're just investigating Isa Redman's whereabouts. Even if Isa Redman met Rodney Jacob, it doesn't mean Rodney Jacob is related to the kidnapping case."

Park Jaeyoung took a deep breath, "Did Isa Redman go to Rodney Jacob's house that night?"

"We also don't know, we'll have to confirm it later."

Park Jaeyoung waved his hand with a self-deprecating look, "No need to confirm, it must be like that."

Little Black patted his shoulder, "Dude, do you like Isa Redman?"

"Does it matter now? She has a new boyfriend." Park Jaeyoung shook his head.

Little Black said, "Listen, I don't know you well, nor do I know Isa Redman, or understand how you guys interact.

But I know one thing for sure: if you love someone, you should bravely tell them.

Anyway, you guys were not dating. Even if she rejects you, you lose nothing.

And you'll feel a lot better.

On the contrary, if you don't make a move, other guys will; if you never speak up, how would you know she wouldn't choose you."

Park Jaeyoung sighed, "I understand everything you said, but understanding and doing are two different things; it's really not that easy.

And now Isa Redman is kidnapped, I'm really worried about her.

If she comes back safely, I will definitely tell her and let her know... I've liked her for a long time."

"You're doing the right thing." Little Black reached out for a high-five.

But Park Jaeyoung, in a bad mood, did not respond.

Little Black awkwardly withdrew his hand, "OK, you can continue your part-time job; we need to continue the investigation."

Park Jaeyoung nodded, got out of the car, and looked back, "Hey, if there's anything you need me to do, just say the word."

"We will." Little Black closed the car door, shaking his head, "No rapport or chemistry at all. I wouldn't like him either."

Luke contacted Matthew, confirmed Rodney Jacob's exact location, and then drove over to Rodney Jacob's house.

Rodney Jacob's house was only a few hundred meters away in a straight line from the party location, only a few minutes' walk, which is why the police had never tracked down any missing trail of Rodney Jacob.

Rodney Jacob's house was a grey two-story villa, with a football model in the yard, which Luke had seen on his Facebook and could confirm this was his home.

By now, it was already evening, and the lights in the villa were on.

Little Black stood at the gate, pressing the doorbell, "Dingdong."

A moment later, the video doorbell opened, revealing the face of a black man, "This is the Jacob residence, whom are you looking for?"

Little Black showed his badge, "LAPD, Mr. Jacob, we'd like to talk to you."

Rodney Jacob shrugged, "What do you want to talk to me about?"

Little Black suggested, "Why not open the door, so we can talk face to face."

"OK, please come in."

The gate opened, and Luke and Little Black walked into the yard, following the stone path to the door.

Meanwhile, Luke also observed the situation in the yard; there was a blue sports car parked at the entrance.

The door opened, and Rodney Jacob stood at the entrance, "Officers, what exactly do you need from me? I have a date tonight, I'll be leaving soon."

Luke showed his badge, "Mr. Rodney Jacob, do you know Isa Redman?"

"Yes, we're in the same school. What's happened to her?"

"What's your relationship with her?"

Rodney Jacob shrugged, "We're friends, is there a problem?"

"When was the last time you saw her?"

"Ha ha..." Rodney Jacob waved his hand and stepped back, "What really happened? I don't like the way you guys are questioning me.
