Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 527: Treasure (Part 3)

Lilith's face was also full of joy. She wasn't most interested in the gold bars, but rather that chest of pottery. She took out a ceramic mask and carefully played with it.

Finding the treasure smoothly this time, Luke was both surprised and a bit taken aback. Although it wasn't his first time finding treasure, the value of this one was far higher than any before.

Lilith put the pottery back into the chest and said, "Guys, like you, I don't like this cave, so should we think of a way to move the treasure back to the yacht first?"

Elsa Marin said, "These twelve chests add up to over a thousand pounds, and the paths on the island are not easy to traverse. Bringing these treasures back to the yacht is indeed a problem.

And it's already afternoon. Even if we return to the yacht without taking the treasures, it will be dark.

We are not familiar with the island's conditions. Transporting the treasure at night might be somewhat dangerous."

Lilith said, "You're right, we really can't take all the treasures, but we can take a part first.

The pottery in these chests is the lightest, we can carry it back directly, it won't be too much of a burden on us."

Lilith looked at Luke again, "What do you think?"

Seeing Lilith value those pots so much, Luke couldn't help but be curious. However, in front of Glasses Girl and Elsa Marin, he couldn't ask much, so he said, "I have no objections."

"OK, let's do that then."

There were two chests with pottery in them, but since it was their first time landing on the island, they had more equipment with them, which was already quite heavy and couldn't carry too much.

Lilith took the pottery out of one of the chests and, to prevent the pots from bumping into each other, packed them into three backpacks.

Afterwards, the four prepared to leave the cave.

Glasses Girl looked longingly at the chest filled with gold bars, "Can I take one piece first?"

Lilith replied nonchalantly, "Of course, as long as you aren't afraid of getting tired."

"No, I feel full of energy right now." Glasses Girl ran back to the chest of gold bars, took out a bar with both hands, and put it into her side bag, "Oh my God, I love this heavy feeling, it feels so delightful."

Lilith shook her head, "You're saying this a bit early. We still have to pass through a rugged rainforest."

Having found the treasure, the atmosphere on the way back was much more relaxed.

Passing by the corpse of a crocodile they had killed, there was another American crocodile tearing at its companion's corpse.

No longer afraid, everyone spontaneously looked at Luke.

Luke took out a shotgun, "You guys leave first, I don't want to splatter you with blood again."

Lilith showed some concern, "Be careful."

After saying that, the three women quickly left the cave, seemingly not wanting to see any more bloody scenes.

"Bang bang."

Luke fired two shots at the pond. Possibly due to fatigue, his aim was off, only hitting the tail of the crocodile, which rolled in the pond in pain but was not seriously injured.

Luke didn't fire again and turned to leave the cave.

Luke and Lilith and others rendezvoused outside the cave.

Lilith said, "We discussed just now; although the yacht can dock at the north shore, the path through the rainforest is difficult, and carrying over a thousand pounds of treasure through the rainforest is even more difficult, so we're preparing to explore a section of road towards the south shore of the island.

If the road on the south shore of the island is easier, we'll transport the treasure to the south shore and use a kayak to get it onto the yacht.

What do you think?"

"Let's go."

Afterward, the group set out to explore the south side of the island, but before going far, they returned.

Because the road on the south shore was very rugged and muddy, some places could even sink a foot into the mud.

Everyone could only follow the original route through the rainforest back to the north shore of the island.

After returning to the yacht, everyone had a simple dinner and then rested.

Although they had found the treasure, most of it hadn't been transported back to the yacht, so it wasn't the time for celebration.

Moreover, after a day of exertion, the four of them were indeed somewhat tired.

The night was overcast and very dark, seemingly ready to rain at any moment.

At two in the morning.

A figure appeared outside the yacht's pilothouse, and after observing the surroundings, entered the pilothouse and picked up the maritime satellite phone...
